  • This Gun iPhone Case Is the Perfect Accessory for Getting Shot

I’m not saying that anyone deserves to be shot by the police, because they don’t – but if you’re walking around with an iPhone case that looks like a gun sticking out of your pocket, you deserve to be shot by the police more than I do.

In yes, we’re all about to celebrate America for a weekend buy why news, police across the country are suddenly warning people about the dangers of putting your iPhone in a case that strongly resembles a real gun.

“Please folks – this cell phone case is not a cool product or a good idea. A police officers job is hard enough, without having to make a split second decision in the dark of night when someone decides without thinking to pull this out while stopped for a motor vehicle violation. What do you think?” wrote the Ocean County, New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office on Facebook.

A spokesman for the office said he found the photo on a “closed social media site for cops,” according to CNN.

It’s unclear who manufactures the case, but it’s available to purchase on Amazon and eBay right now.

On Amazon, people are writing negative reviews urging Amazon to pull the product.

“Dear Amazon: I highly recommend that you remove this product from your website right now! Your corporate attorneys will thank you, as will the law enforcement officers who might otherwise be put into a tragic and unnecessary lethal force situation!” says one reviewer.

“Amazon…this is highly offensive and dangerous! Some idiot will buy this and end up getting killed by police. Come on – do NOT SELL this crap,” says another.

Just think about things before you buy them. Just for a second. Ok?

  • Fleshlight iPad Case Is Real And In Development

Earlier this week, we told you about a somewhat creepy yet undeniably intriguing concept that was sure to take forever alone to a whole new level.

A concept design called the FLESHLiPad Holder generated a lot of buzz around the interwebs, unsurprisingly, considering it’s an iPad case that mounts a Fleshlight to the bottom of your device. Fleshlights, or faux-vagina flashlights, are quite the popular item, as are iPads, porn, and sex, naturally.

Because of this, we speculated that it was only a matter of time until this little concept became a reality.

It turns out, that’s happening sooner than we thought. Gizmodo obtained the following quote from Fleshlight COO Brian Shubin:

It’s another exciting product we have in development at the moment. We are always looking to improve our user experience and this will be a way to take it to another level. Continue watching Fleshlight.com for it.

Another level indeed. Soon, denizens of the internet, you will have the option to have sex with your tablets, if you so choose. And not just any sex, but sex brought to you by the AVN 2012 winner for “Best Sex Toy Company.”

  • Fleshlight iPad Case Takes Forever Alone To A Whole New Level [NSFW]

Steve Jobs was all about changing the way the world does certain things, so in that respect, I guess he would have to be impressed with the ingenuity at work here. And let’s be honest, in some ways, it could change the way that people interact with porn.

What I’m talking about it a concept design that takes forever alone to a whole new level. Meet the FLESHLiPad Holder.

What you’re seeing is a Fleshlight device attached to the bottom of an iPad. For those of you unfamiliar with Fleshlights, you can check out the site (a tad NSFW). As you can see, it’s basically a male sex toy that simulates a vagina. It’s actually a pretty huge industry, as prospective users can build their own or purchase toys modeled after famous pornstars – and yes, they are anatomically accurate.

It doesn’t take a genius to see why a person would want to have one of these devices attached to an iPad – and the mockup makes it pretty clear as well. I must reiterate, this is simply a concept design, but do you really think that this idea will sit around untapped for very long? I don’t think so.

  • Self-Healing iPhone Case: The Clumsy/Angry Smartphone User’s Dream

If you’re as haphazard with your iPhone as I am, it probably didn’t take you very long to figure out that a nice, solid case was in your best interest. And it probably wasn’t very long before that case was dinged up, nicked, scratched and gouged to pieces from repeated contact with walls and floors (both intentional and unintentional, of course).

Nissan wants to make dinged up iPhone cases a thing of the past, as they have just announced the Nissan Scratch Shield iPhone Case, billed as “the world’s first self-healing iPhone case.”

“Self-healing” means that when you scratch your case, it will automatically fix the blemish. Easy as that. This works because “the outer ‘paint’ is made from polyrotaxane, which means that when damage occurs to the coating in the form of a fine scratch, the chemical structure is able to react to change back to its original shape and fill the gap.”

The healing process will take anywhere from an hour to a week, depending on the size of the scratch. This paint technology was originally developed back in 2005, and is currently in use in Nissan automobiles like the Murano, 370Z and X-Trail, as well as some Infiniti models.

The Scratch Shield case touts other beneficial features, as Nissan says the flexible, tight-fitting case sports a tactile gel-like surface as opposed to a glossy surface – which cuts down on scratches in the first place and provides a better grip.

So when can you get your hands on one? According to Nissan, hopefully later this year. The first batch of prototypes is going through beta testing with a select group of consumers. If all goes according to plan, you could have your self-healing case before the end of 2012.

This isn’t the first time this scratch technology has been used outside of automobiles:

“We’re really excited about the possibilities provided by this technology, said Bob Laishley, Overseas Program Director Business Development for Nissan in Europe. “In Japan, we’ve already linked up with world-leading mobile operator NTT DoCoMo to allow them to use the Scratch Shield technology on its Style Series N-03B mobile phones, and we think this technology has real scope beyond the automotive world. We’re passionate about innovations that get people excited, and that means not being restricted to one industry or genre.”

For anyone whose iPhone case takes a beating on a regular basis, it’s a no-brainer that they might want to at least give this new case a look.

  • iPhone 5 Rumor: Thinner, Wider According to Supposed Case Design

If you’re feeling a bit fatigued by all the iPhone 5 rumors coming from supply chain sources and part manufacturers, here’s something completely different.

Italian Apple blog Macitynet has come across an alleged iPhone 5 case, and has taken it upon themselves to snap an extensive set of photos of the purported case with various current Apple products tucked inside. They’ve put an iPhone 4, an iPod and an iPod touch inside the supposed iPhone 5 case and what do you know, none of the devices can fill it out.

That’s right, the case for the iPhone 5 is huge compared to the iPhone 4. It’s not only wider and longer, but it is also thinner. It doesn’t take too much deduction to figure out what this could mean for the iPhone 5. Is it going to be wider, longer, and thinner?

Here are some shots from the gallery –

The iPhone 5 has been rumored thinner and lighter, based on some reports from component suppliers.

These photos demonstrate what the relative size of the iPhone 5 would be if it ends up being significantly larger than the iPhone 4. There have been rumors for months that the iPhone 5 could have a 4 inch + screen, but the latest reports suggest that it may simply launch with a 3.5 -3.7 inch screen.

Of course, there’s no way of knowing if this case if actually for an iPhone 5. If anything, these photos show us just how large the device could be, if some of the rumors prove true.
