  • Julianne Hough Not Returning to Upcoming Season of “Dancing With the Stars”

Julianne Hough served as a judge on the last season of Dancing With the Stars. She, along with Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba watched Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough dance their way to a mirror ball trophy. Hough isn’t returning to the next season of DWTS, however. Len Goodman is coming back, and he will take her place.

“I will miss being on the panel for Season 22, but have a lot of exciting stuff coming that I look forward to sharing,” Julianne Hough says in an interview with People magazine. “The pro dancers, producers and crew at DWTS will always be my family.”

Dancing With the Stars producer Rob Wade also spoke with People about Julianne Hough’s departure.

“Julianne will always be a part of the Dancing with the Stars family and we hope to see her back in the ballroom in the future,” he said.

Hough agrees it’s not “goodbye,” but “until we meet again,” instead.

“I promise it’s not the last you’ll see of me in the ballroom,” she says.

Are you disappointed to learn Julianne Hough isn’t returning as a judge for season 22 of Dancing With the Stars?

Fans can tune it to watch Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba judge a brand new group of contestants on Dancing With the Stars when season 22 premieres on March 21.

  • Carrie Ann Inaba Quite Taken With Alek Skarlatos

Carrie Ann Inaba, one of the judges on Dancing With the Stars, was quite taken with one of this season’s final contestants. She spoke about him on the night before the finale.

“I am a fan of the way he moves,” she said of finalist Alek Skarlatos. “I know it’s not the most stylized and it’s not exotic, but it’s clear and concise, and it’s powerful and it has integrity. He’s in the finals. I love that he took it seriously. And I love that he and Lindsay, their partnership is really something spectacular.”

“I didn’t know he’s such a dude. Like he’s such a dude from home,” Carrie Ann Inaba added. “I felt like I was in college at a frat party, or something. It was refreshing to see and it made me appreciate him that much more because he really has made an incredible journey to be where he is today. He’s in the finals.”

Just three months ago, Alek Skarlatos helped stop a terrorist attack aboard a Paris-bound train.

Carrie Ann Inaba was no doubt disappointed when this handsome hunk didn’t win this season of Dancing With the Stars on Tuesday evening. She even offered pointers to Alek and his pro partner Lindsay Arnold before the finale.

Carrie Ann is surely thrilled for Bindi Irwin, however, who won the coveted mirror ball trophy along with pro partner Derek Hough.

Do you suppose Carrie Ann Inaba got in some after-party fun with Alek Skarlatos following the DWTS finale last night?

Perhaps she’s just incredibly impressed with the young man’s valor–and the fact that he was such a huge success on the dance floor, too.

Are you surprised to learn how taken Carrie Ann Inaba is with Alek Skarlatos?

  • Carrie Ann Inaba On Her Favorite DWTS Fashion Choice

Carrie Ann Inaba has seen some pretty big moments as a judge on Dancing with the Stars.

Of course, one of the sweetest and most recent was the proposal from Noah Galloway, one half of her team in the judge’s choice round this week.

The proposal followed a stunning Paso Doble, designed and coached by Carrie Ann Inaba.

Noah Galloway’s video package highlighted what it was like for him to go to war and return, injured, to build his life again.

It also had a weird, but sweet, appearance by William Shatner, who said of Noah, “Noah teaches us to take what life has offered and not only to deal with it, but to make it a plus.”

After the performance, the couple earned high marks and compliments from the judges.

“There was such an ease about that performance,” Julianne said.

Carrie Ann Inaba added, “What made this so incredible to me was seeing you have fun.”

Feeling like the luckiest girl in the world! Goodnight all!!

That’s when the big moment happened, with Galloway saying to his girlfriend, “This song, ‘The Time of My Life,’ you give that to me and you know, I’ve got to do this here,” he began before dropping to one knee. “Will you marry me?”

    Of course, she said yes!

That was far from being the only big moment that Carrie Ann Inaba has experienced on the show, but she has always been dressed for anything.

Carrie Ann Inaba recently revealed her favorite dress that she wore on the show.

Carrie Ann Inaba said of the dress, a red gown from last season, “I just love strapless peplum dresses, because I have hips and booty! I feel like the peplum accentuates it and makes you show off [your curves] as opposed to trying to hide them.”

Carrie Ann Inaba admitted that she really likes wearing anything that’s red.

She said, “Red is a color that I love to wear on the show, but every time I do, there’s usually a fight! I’m feistier or maybe everyone gets feistier because they’re seeing red? I don’t know, but every time I wear red, there’s a… let’s call it a ‘heated discussion.’”

  • Julianne Hough Vowed She ‘Wouldn’t Hold Back,’ And She Didn’t

Julianne Hough vowed before serving as a guest judge on Dancing With the Stars that she wasn’t going to hold back when critiquing the dance contestants–and she didn’t. Some fans of the show weren’t particularly thrilled with her after last season’s stint as a guest host.

“You can always count on me to tell the truth,” she told ABC News prior to her stint as a guest judge. “It’s all about making comments that whoever the dancer or celebrity is, they can be better for next week. There’s never any harsh criticism just because I want to be harsh, that’s not my nature or my character.”

Hough also commented on new co-host Erin Andrews, who took the place of Brooke Burke-Charvet, whose contract wasn’t renewed.

“I think Erin is doing fantastic,” she said. “She’s really fun and fresh. She’s a little snarky. It’s kind of fun and the celebrities and dancers are really enjoying it. It’s fun to watch.”

On Monday night, Julianne Hough joined Dancing With the Stars judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba as they judged the contestants who switched partners for the evening.

Hough guest judged DWTS last season, and rather harshly critiqued a performance by dance pro Mark Ballas and contestant Christina Milian. Some believe that harshness led to Milian’s elimination the following week.

“You go in trying to give constructive criticism, but when the nerves get to you, you sometimes put your foot in your mouth, which I have done in the past. So this is my do-over,” she said. Hough also admitted that when it came to critiquing Ballas and Milian that she “could have probably said it a little differently.”

  • Carrie Ann Inaba Talks DWTS Finale

The question on everyone’s mind…who will be the winner of the 17th season of Dancing with the Stars? The first part of the two-part finale aired last night on ABC. The second part will air tonight and the winner will be announced.

During a recent interview with TVGuide.com, Carrie Ann Inaba talked about the final four contestants and described the competition as having “two completely different types of competitors.”

“I think we have two completely different types of competitors,” Inaba said. “We have Corbin and Amber, who are in one class. And then you have Jack and Bill, who are totally of a different class. I think it’s really interesting the way the fans have voted. I think people are really a fan of the whole idea of somebody who doesn’t know how to dance really making the transformation, which is what Jack and Bill fall into.”

Inaba also talked about the person to beat on the show…Bill Engvall. Throughout the season, Engvall’s fans voted to keep him in the competition, even when he received lower scores than the other dancers.

“I think we’ve gone back to what the heart of the show is, which makes me really proud of our viewers,” Inaba says. “They remember what the show was about when we first started, which was taking people who didn’t know dancing and transforming them into dancers. I think that it’s really nice to see people voting that way. … People like watching people that they can relate to [and] they’re rewarding somebody who’s just going for it, gung ho, not afraid, and sometimes making a fool out of himself. But he’s having a great time and he’s doing it the way it should be done, which is all in good spirits and all in good fun.”

However, last night just was not Engvall’s night, as he left the competition, leaving only three to fight for the trophy. The final three contestants were revealed and are Jack Osbourne, Amber Riley, and Corbin Bleu.

“Well, it just goes to prove to me that there is a God because I couldn’t make one more dance,” said Bill. “I can’t tell you how proud I am of Emma. She’s like my second daughter now — we just had a blast.” He thanked the judges and then made a special point of thanking his wife, Gail, who was in the audience every week. “I will never forget this — and thanks to the fans who voted this long.”

Tune in to ABC tonight for the crowning of the new winner.

  • Carrie Ann Inaba Won’t Be Getting Married

Carrie Ann Inaba has been engaged for over a year, and now it looks like there still won’t be any wedding bells for the “Dancing With The Stars” judge. She and fiance Jesse Sloan have called off their engagement amicably.

Inaba met Sloan through EHarmony and have been trying for a baby, but apparently they realized it wasn’t going to work out between them and ended things before they got too complicated. Inaba said in an interview that she had been attracted to Sloan because he was an older guy who knew what he wanted.

“I was dating all these younger guys. I was like, ‘Maybe I need to change it up a little,’” she said.

She said in that same interview that she wasn’t in a hurry to plan the wedding and was content to have a long engagement, which might have been a warning sign that she wasn’t ready. While she hasn’t given many hints as to what exactly happened, she appears to be moving on and has been tweeting about going back into the studio.
