  • “Iron Man 4” Not Likely According To Tony Stark

Iron Man 4 may be stretching the franchise a bit.

While all previous Iron Man films were huge hits, it seems the Marvel universe might have simply moved on from Tony Stark and his antics.

In an interview with USA Today, Robert Downey, Jr. said that he sort of considers Captain America: Civil War his Iron Man 4.

When asked about the possibility of an Iron Man 4, he said, “I don’t think that’s in the cards.”

He said of the upcoming Civil War movie, “In a way it’s Cap 3 but for me it’s like my little Iron Man 4 and then it’s back to the thing we all recognize. Everything pulls over to the side of the road when the thunder of an Avengers thing comes through because that’s how it is until it changes. If it changes.”

It’s true. The promise of Avengers always works to get people in the seats. Always.

While Robert Downey Jr.‘s Iron Man franchise days may be over, he did reveal how much he admired about The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and the course it’s taking under the direction of James Gunn.

Director James Gunn and Marvel has finally announced the commencement of filming on Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.2, and revealed the cast including the new additions that confirms the rumors of Pom Klementieff and Kurt Russell joining the film. ____________________________________________ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is written and directed by James Gunn (“Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Slither”). The film marks the return of the original Guardians, including Chris Pratt (“Jurassic World,” “Guardians of the Galaxy”) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord; Zoe Saldana (“Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Star Trek Into Darkness”) as Gamora; Dave Bautista (“Spectre,” “Guardians of the Galaxy”) as Drax; Vin Diesel (“Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Furious 7”) as the voice of Groot; Bradley Cooper (“Joy,” “American Sniper”) as the voice of Rocket; Michael Rooker (“Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Jumper”) as Yondu; Karen Gillan (“Guardians of the Galaxy,” “The Big Short”) as Nebula; and Sean Gunn (“Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Gilmore Girls”) as Kraglin. New cast members include Pom Klementieff (“Oldboy”), Elizabeth Debicki (“The Great Gatsby,” “Everest”), Chris Sullivan (“The Knick,” “The Drop”) and Kurt Russell (“The Hateful Eight,” “Furious 7”). Note: In addition to this Director James Gunn confirmed the return of Glenn Close and that the character Pom Klementieff is playing will be indeed Mantis. #guardiansofthegalaxy #guardiansofthegalaxy2 #guardiansofthegalaxyvol2 #mcu #marvel #marveluniverse

He said, “Gunn spun everything in a whole other different way where it’s like, wow, without even trying to, that took a little bit of the real estate out of some tonal stuff we were doing so we don’t want to fight that.”

He added, “We want to give way to that. We want to yield to that kind of powerful dynamic that they created and just go, ‘Hey, that’s great. You know what, we’re going to widen the track here and we’re going to stay in this lane, and then we’ll see when it’s time to switch lanes again.’”

Do you think there could easily be another Iron Man movie?

  • Scarlett Johansson On Black Widow’s State Of Mind In “Civil War”

Scarlett Johansson has had some pretty difficult and complicated shoes to fill during her stint as Black Widow.

We first had the pleasure of seeing Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow battling her “ledger” in Avengers. We most recently saw her taking on a more controversy-laden battle with her past and her desire to leave the crime fighting world and settle down with Bruce Banner in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

However, no one is really clear what Scarlett Johansson and Black Widow will be thinking and dealing with in Captain America: Civil War.

Scarlett Johansson was asked by EW whether or not Black Widow was ready to be an Avenger for good or if she was still thinking about leaving it all behind.

Scarlett Johansson responded, “You know, I don’t think she’s ever aspired to become an Avenger. That’s not really a choice that she made. It’s kind of like the events in her life led her to that point and when we see her [in Civil War], she’s finally capable of making a choice for herself.”

She added, “Which is kind of a milestone in someone’s life when they’ve not really participated in the decisions that were made for them. She’s finally at a place where she’s going, ‘Okay, I actually kind of know what I want. And I think I kind of deserve it.’”

After the controversy over the supposed sexist storyline in Age of Ultron, some want to know whether or not the storyline with Dr. Banner will continue or not.

Scarlett Johansson addressed the issue, but it seems we likely won’t find out much more about where their relationship may or may not go.

She said, “I don’t know. There is little room for romance in Civil War; I think there is a lot going on that doesn’t really involve big heart-to-hearts. I mean it’s certainly in there and there’s references to it. But this is not the opportunity for us to explore the Widow’s deep, personal backstory.”

Are you excited to see Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow again? I know I am!

  • Scarlett Johansson, As Black Widow, Battles Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye In ‘Captain America’ Sneak Peek

Scarlett Johansson joined Captain America costars Jeremy Renner and Chris Evans for a surprise event at D23 in California over the weekend.

During the event, Disney and Marvel announced several new projects and shared clips from next year’s Captain America: Civil War, including a kick-ass sequence of Scarlett Johansson, who portrays Black Widow, battling Hawkeye, played by Jeremy Renner.

The clip has yet to be released but the footage shows an apparent fight between Black Widow and Hawkeye. The twosome are generally allies, so who knows why they are suddenly beating the crap out of each other.

According to Forbes reporter Mark Hughes, the footage shared on Saturday offered fans a first glimpse of new villain Crossbones, as reported by The Inquisitr.

“The footage begins with the Captain America, Falcon, and Black Widow in position for a battle, surveying a busy city street. Falcon deploys a flying drone that swoops down into traffic and up under a large vehicle. The truck’s occupants are Crossbones and his crew, and a large battle commences between these villains and Cap’s team. While Captain America fights Crossbones, Falcon and Black Widow take down the rest of the criminals.

“We see lots of damage done to the surrounding street and buildings, and Cap’s shield ends up with a bomb attached to it, so he throws it just before the bomb explodes. Crossbones finally falls, defeated, and removes his mask. He mentions Bucky Barnes — aka the Winter Soldier, whom Cap has been trying to track down — and Captain America seems shocked.”

Scarlett Johansson, who never really wanted to go the superhero route, has said that she loves playing Black Widow because the character is so complex.

“I really enjoy playing this character. She was really the first female superhero, a reluctant one. She’s never really been able to forge close relationships with anybody. She’s a lone wolf,” Scarlett Johansson told Parade magazine.

Captain America: Civil War is due in theaters May 6, 2016.

  • Scarlett Johansson: It’s A Week Of Highs And Lows

Scarlett Johansson has had a busy week!

The beautiful starlet has signed on to reprise her Black Widow role in the upcoming film, Captain America: Civil War.

Scarlett Johansson isn’t the only one to have been confirmed to return for the third movie in the Captain America franchise.

Chris Evans will return in his role as Captain America, of course. I mean, who else?

Sebastian Stan will also return as the Winter Soldier and it is reported that Robert Downey, Jr. will bring his Iron Man character to the film.

Black Widow fans had feared that Scarlett Johansson’s character wouldn’t get a ton of screen time in Civil War, but it seems those fears are unfounded.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo said, ”We’ve been preparing for the movie since the one debuted last year. So, we’ve been working on it for a long time now.”

They continued, ”We’re very happy how it’s coming along… It’s going to star Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson will be back, Winter Soldier will be back, and Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man will also be joining us in the next film.”

    So exciting for Scarlett Johansson!

She was also picked up this week for a starring role in the live action adaptation of the immensely popular Japanese comic series, Ghost in the Shell.

Fans aren’t as excited about that announcement, however.

While Scarlett Johansson has more than proven her chops as an action star, critics of the idea say that an Asian actress should have been chosen. Fans are so upset that they started an online petition demanding that she be removed from the role.

It states, “The original film is set in Japan, and the major cast members are Japanese… So why would the American remake star a white actress? The industry is already unfriendly to Asian actors without roles in major films being changed to exclude them.”

The petition continues, “DreamWorks could be using this film to help provide opportunities for Asian-American actors in a market with few opportunities for them to shine. Please sign the petition asking them to reconsider casting Scarlett Johansson in Ghost in the Shell and select actors who are truer to the cast of the original film!”

So, Scarlett Johansson may not remain in Ghost in the Shell if fans have their way, but we can at least look forward to seeing much more of her as Black Widow in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron film, as well as in Captain America: Civil War.

What do you think of Scarlett Johansson’s latest roles?

  • Scarlett Johansson Too White For Anime Adaptation?

Scarlett Johansson is enjoying a seriously successful career right now, and not much can stop her.

Except, perhaps, a petition with thousands of signatures asking her to be tossed out of a movie.

Scarlett Johansson has just confirmed that she will be reprising her role as Black Widow in Captain America: Civil War.

Those of us that fancy ourselves appreciators of a great superhero movie are over the moon!

However, fans of the popular Japanese comic series Ghost in the Shell, are not super excited to see Scarlett Johansson in the lead for the upcoming live action adaptation.

They are so distraught, in fact, that they have started a petition online to boot her from the role and cast an Asian actress.

    It has almost 19,000 signatures.

Ouch. But, surely Scarlett Johansson could understand the premise of the uproar.

Also, she is busy with so many Black Widow projects, she could throw a lesser-known Asian actress a chance to make her mark, right?

I mean, Scarlett Johansson is already busy with Avengers: Age of Ultron and she will soon be working on Captain America: Civil War.

What do you think? Do you love the thought of Scarlett Johansson in Ghost in the Shell or would you rather see an Asian actress in that role?

  • Scarlett Johansson To Be In New Captain America Film

Scarlett Johansson will reprise her role as Black Widow in the next installment of the Captain America franchise.

Captain America: Civil War will be the third in the wildly popular, and awesome, series. The plot will center around a proposed law for superhero registration.

Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of Civil War, confirmed Scarlett Johansson‘s reappearance, as well as those of Chris Evans (Captian America), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), and Robert Downey, Jr. in his role as Iron Man.

‘We’ve been preparing for the movie since the one debuted last year. So, we’ve been working on it for a long time now,” they said.

”We’re very happy how it’s coming along… It’s going to star Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson will be back, Winter Soldier [Stan] will be back, and Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man will also be joining us in the next film.”

Also making an appearance in the new film will be new character Black Panther.

Black Panther will be played by Chadwick Boseman.

There was concern that with Iron Man’s appearance in the film, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow wouldn’t get the screentime she deserves.

However, it seems apparent that the directors will continue to keep Black Widow quite vital to the plot, just like in the first two.

Even if it isn’t as big of a screen presence as we’d like, Scarlett Johansson will still have a huge role to play in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron.

In Age of Ultron, Scarlett Johansson’s past is explored in some depth and her ugly and sometimes torturous history will likely add an element to Black Window that will only make her more of a fan favorite.

What do you think of the upcoming Marvel films and Scarlett Johansson’s role as Black Widow?
