  • Dean McDermott, Tori Spelling: Lease Was Up So Family Forced to Downsize

Dean McDermott and Tori Spelling–along with their children–have moved to a smaller home. They downsized because their lease was up and they had to take something smaller in order to stay in the neighborhood they wanted as well as in an affordable price range.

TMZ reports that Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott’s new digs are about half the size of the old.

Although rumors about the family’s need to downsize because of lack of money ran rampant, they simply weren’t true.

“Tori and Dean moved into a new house–it’s the same number of bedrooms and everything,” a source says. “They just moved because their lease was up, nothing more to it than that. It was not a downsizing thing.”

This is the third time the family has moved since selling their Encino, California home at a loss back in 2011. They manage to pay a little less rent each time, however, but they lose a bit of space at the same time.

Dean McDermott and Tori Spelling’s latest abode features 3,733 sq. ft. of living space. That space includes five bedrooms and five bathrooms, as well as a nice yard, a pool, and a library. Their most recent rental measured 6,623 sq. ft.

Last fall, Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott talked about their finances during an episode of True Tori. Tori grew up very well off. Her father Aaron Spelling’s estate is worth about $600 million. Mom Candy Spelling isn’t big on sharing with Tori and Dean, however, so they have to pull their own weight.

Dean McDermott, Tori Spelling, and their family will no doubt quickly adjust to their new digs. A five bedroom, five bathroom house in Calabasas is nothing to balk at. And if they can pay upwards of $7000 per month in rent (that’s what the last tenant in their new house was paying) they could surely afford a modest mortgage.

  • Dean McDermott, Tori Spelling Spotted Holding Hands

Dean McDermott and Tori Spelling may fight like cats and dogs on their reality TV show True Tori, but they seemed to be getting along just fine when spotted in L.A. on Saturday. The two were photographed while walking hand-in-hand. Tori was dressed casually in floral pants and a tank top, while McDermott sported athletic pants and a t-shirt.

According to a report from Us Weekly, the two are still in love and actively working on their relationship.

“There is still love between them… they will last,” a source tells the publication.

Dean McDermott admitted to an affair with Emily Goodhand in December of 2013. Since then he and Tori Spelling have experienced serious marital strife which has, in recent months, played itself out on True Tori.

Tori Spelling recently had a health scare and was hospitalized with bronchitis for more than a week. She is said to be doing much better now.

Dean McDermott was recently interviewed about what role–if any–that Tori’s mom Candy Spelling plays in their lives.

“In my recovery, all I can be is honest and no. No. There’s no financial help,” he said of the woman who inherited Aaron Spelling’s wealth.

Candy Spelling spoke out against McDermott’s remark via a rep, however, saying what he said simply isn’t true.

“Candy has provided financial help in the past and has offered repeatedly to pay for the children’s private schooling and Tori has never told her where to send the money,” he said.

What do you suppose the real scoop is between Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott? Couples don’t tend to hold hands if they don’t have some kind of romantic feelings for one another. Do you suppose Dean has stepped up to the plate since Tori was ill?

Do you think things are really as bad as they seem on True Tori? Or is their marital strife enhanced for the reality TV cameras?

  • Candy Spelling Talks Tori Spelling, Dean McDermott

Candy Spelling has reportedly reached out to the media via a rep to deny some things her son-in-law–Tori Spelling’s husband Dean McDermott–recently said. Dean was interviewed by Access Hollywood in the past few days, during which he was asked if Candy ever shared any of her late husband Aaron Spelling’s estate with Tori.

“In my recovery, all I can be is honest and no. No. There’s no financial help,” Dean said. This was during the same interview when he revealed he is leaving his and Tori Spelling’s Lifetime series True Tori.

Candy Spelling wasn’t having it, however. Her rep went straight back to Access Hollywood with the following.

“Candy has provided financial help in the past and has offered repeatedly to pay for the children’s private schooling and Tori has never told her where to send the money,” her rep said in a statement.

“We see [Candy] about eight times a year–holidays and kids’ birthdays,” Dean McDermott said of his mother-in-law during the interview.

The rep countered this statement as well.

“Candy reaches out often to see them and unfortunately Tori and Dean are not often responsive,” the rep said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

Does it sound like there’s even more dysfunction in the Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott family than plays out on True Tori? As if there isn’t more than an abundance of ridiculousness on their reality show, it certainly sounds like a fair amount plays out in real life as well.

It’s no secret that Tori Spelling was much closer to her late dad, Aaron Spelling, that to her mom, Candy Spelling. But come on, people. Let’s be adults here. There are kids involved in the middle of a marriage that has all but disintegrated–and it’s being played out on reality TV.

Do you think Candy Spelling’s statements made via her rep are truthful ones or is she simply trying to improve her image–one that Dean McDermott clearly tried to decimate–in the public eye?

  • Candy Spelling Disputes Dean McDermott’s Financial Claims

Dean McDermott claims that he is trying to be honest, but Candy Spelling is saying otherwise. Dean recently said that he and Tori are in financial trouble and that nobody has offered them any help.

Tori’s mother Candy says otherwise and a rep for Candy told Access,

“Candy has provided financial help in the past and has offered repeatedly to pay for the children’s private schooling and Tori has never told her where to send the money.”

The financial comments aren’t the only thing that Candy claims aren’t true. Dean also mentioned in a recent interview that Candy is not a part of their lives and that she only comes around about eight times a year, for birthday parties and holidays. Tori and Candy have had problems with their relationship in the past, and now they have more drama to add to the mix.

The rep said that Candy has tried to be more involved with the family, but that Tori and Dean are the ones who do not want her around or do not return the effort.

“Candy reaches out often to see them and unfortunately Tori and Dean are not often responsive,” her rep continued.

Tori and Dean are struggling to save their marriage among others things. Last month Tori broke down on her reality show True Tori and admitted that the family is living paycheck to paycheck and is having a hard time paying the bills.

The financial troubles combined with Dean’s affair and the couple’s marriage troubles seem to be almost more than they can handle, and they are seen fighting constantly on their reality show.

Do you think Tori and Dean will ever get it together or are they better off letting each other go and starting over again?

  • Candy Spelling Responds to Dean McDermott’s Shocking Revelations, Including He’s Leaving ‘True Tori’

Candy Spelling has responded to some statements Dean McDermott made during a very surprising interview on Access Hollywood Live.

On Wednesday, McDermott – who said he has contemplated suicide and is leaving his Lifetime series True Tori – was asked, among other things, about his family’s relationship with Candy Spelling, Tori’s mom.

Billy Bush and Kit Hoover asked McDermott if he and Tori ever received any of Candy’s late husband’s estate.

“In my recovery, all I can be is honest and no. No. There’s no financial help,” McDermott said.

Following the interview, Candy’s rep refuted McDermott’s claims.

“Candy has provided financial help in the past and has offered repeatedly to pay for the children’s private schooling and Tori has never told her where to send the money,” her rep said in a statement to Access.

McDermott also claimed the family rarely sees Candy.

“We see [Candy] about eight times a year — holidays and kids’ birthdays.”

However, Candy’s rep said she doesn’t see her family as often as she would like through no fault of her own.

“Candy reaches out often to see them and unfortunately Tori and Dean are not often responsive,” her rep continued.

The biggest bombshell of the interview is McDermott’s announcement that he is leaving True Tori for his health.

“I’m not going to continue with the show,” McDermott said. “We have five more shows left… I can’t do this anymore. I can’t keep opening a vein, opening my soul and sharing my feelings and thoughts and demons with the world.”
