  • Katherine Heigl Drama Cancelled; More Shows That Got The Ax

Katherine Heigl had hoped to make a big television comeback with the NBC drama State Of Affairs, but according to the L.A. Times, the show has been cancelled after just one season.

After Heigl’s departure from Grey’s Anatomy in 2010–which was coated in rumors that she and show creator Shonda Rhimes had rubbed one another the wrong way–she went on to star in several films, but ultimately a reputation for being “difficult” followed her around until she felt she needed to defend herself. Heigl told E! News last year that she was tired of being labeled as hard to work with just because she speaks her mind.

“I spent time trying to be more of a publicity packaged thing, and I just couldn’t. I couldn’t sleep at night. It kept me up. It felt so dishonest to me and it felt like such a cop out, like me saying that I am inherently wrong about how I feel about things or I am inherently wrong if I have something to say. I don’t like that for my daughters. I don’t like that for my girlfriends. I don’t like that for any woman in this world to be made to feel like that. You voice, your opinion and you are made to feel like if someone disagrees with you, that now you’re a bad person?” Heigl said.

Heigl’s reputation doesn’t appear to have had an affect on State Of Affairs, however; according to reports, the show received largely negative reviews and low ratings, although it was often compared to Homeland.

According to IMDB, the show is just one of many that didn’t make the cut for the upcoming lineups across the networks: here’s a shortlist, including some shows that were not cancelled but have seen their series finales.
