  • Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny Dating Rumors True or Just Wishful Thinking?

Few who witnessed the chemistry between David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson on the X-Files can deny the idea of the alien-fighting duo getting together hasn’t crossed their minds now that Duchovny’s divorce from Téa Leoni is final.

But are rumors of them together now true?

Duchovny and Leoni have been on-again, off-again for the last six years. The couple were married in 1997 but split amidst Duchovny’s sexual addiction struggles that led the Aquarius actor to enter rehab in 2008.

They reunited, split again in 2011 and finally divorced quietly in June.

Immediately following the divorce, rumors emerged that Duchovny, 54, and Anderson, 46, were dating, but Duchovny denied the two were involved.

Neither Duchovny nor Anderson has confirmed any romantic ties, but witnesses allegedly saw Anderson leaving Duchovny’s apartment a few weeks ago.

Anderson has conceded that the alien-fighting co-stars have thought about a relationship, but any opportunity to unite may have slipped away.

“Well now that it is over I can tell you… No. It’s a nice idea, but it’s not going to happen,” Anderson told HuffPostLive. “I think we know each other too well, we know each other better than our spouses at any time when we may have had spouses. There is an attraction… maybe even more than a [friend] attraction… but anyways.”

Anderson herself is very quick to open up about her private life. In March, she revealed that she is bi-sexual, but has denied anything more than a great friendship between herself and the Californication star.

Duchovny and his ex-wife will share legal custody of their 12-year-old son, Kyd Miller, and 15-year-old daughter, Madelaine West, although they will reside with the 48-year-old actress. Duchovny’s financial responsibiliies include $40K per month in spousal support and more than $8K per month in child support, as well as other expenses including summer camp, private school and college.

  • David Duchovny and Téa Leoni Are Officially Divorced

David Duchovny and Tea Leoni are officially divorced.

The couple quietly finalized their divorce in June and reports are only now emerging about the end of the couple’s marriage. According to TMZ, who broke the story, the divorce was filed in June and the two settled all the terms themselves.

It was Duchovny, 54, who filed for the divorce, citing an irretrievable breakdown of the relationship.

The couple will share legal custody of their 12-year-old son, Kyd Miller, and 15-year-old daughter, Madelaine West, although they will reside with the 48-year-old actress. The Califonication star owns a nearby apartment in the Upper West Side of New York City, so he will remain close to the kids.

Duchovny will reportedly pay $40K per month in spousal support and $8,333 per month in child support, as well as other expenses including summer camp, private school and college.

The couple met at The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and married in 1997. They separated in 2008 when Duchovny was treated for sex addiction, and after a reconciliation following his rehab stint, they separated once again in 2011.

Duchovny will continue to keep busy with work. With the end of Californication on HBO, the The X-Files alum will return to broadcast television this fall with the NBC series Aquarius.

“After being involved in the production of both The X-Files and Californication, it gives me great pleasure to work with David Duchovny for the third time on this compelling drama,” said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, of Duchovny’s casting in the new series that centers around Charles Manson.

As for Leoni, she will return to television starring as Secretary of State Elizabeth Faulkner McCord in the CBS political drama Madam Secretary.

  • David Duchovny Defends Russian Beer Ad

David Duchovny Defends Russian Beer Ad

Actor David Duchovny recently defended a controversial Russian beer commercial he stars in, telling TMZ that he does not support Russian policy of late, especially the invasion of Ukraine.

In the Sibirskaia Korona ad, which runs over two minutes long, Duchovny muses about how his life might have turned out if he was born in Russia instead of the United States. “This is the country where I was born and raised,” Duchovny says at the start of the rather epic video, adding, “But there is another country, where I got my family name from. And sometimes I wonder: What if things turned out differently? What if I were Russian?”

Various little vignettes depict the actor as a ballet coach, a cosmonaut, a mullet-wearing bassist in a pop rock band and a hockey player missing a tooth.

Yet, fans became a bit riled over the ad, especially after the recent downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 by pro-Russia separatists. Duchovny commented, “I am proud of my Russian, Ukrainian, Scottish and Polish heritage as I am proud of my American heritage.”

    The Sibirskaia Korona commercial spot:

Duchovny adds, “But being proud of one’s ancestry is not a political statement on any current government or public policies.”

The reaction to the commercial has been mixed on Twitter:

Duchovny insists the beer commercial is not a political statement – “In retrospect, and in light of recent tragic events, I can now see the potential for misunderstanding and hope people will understand.”

The former X-Files star recently completed a seven-season run on the Showtime hit dramedy Californication, and will appear in the new NBC police drama Aquarius. Duchovny will play a 1960s police sergeant investigating budding cult leader Charles Manson.

  • Penny Dreadful Series Premiere Shows Promise

Penny Dreadful, Showtime’s entry into the supernatural category, had a relatively strong formal debut Sunday night.

Going up against genre heavy weights such as AMC’s The Walking Dead and FX’s American Horror Story, Penny Dreadful attempts to set itself apart “with a combination of literary allusion, fine acting, patience and fearlessness” according to a review in The New York Times.

The series was created by John Logan, who is known for his Oscar-nominated work on films such as The Aviator, Gladiator, and Hugo. Sam Mendes (American Beauty, The Kite Runner, Revolutionary Road) is executive producer. Logan and Mendes previously collaborated on Skyfall.

Set in Victorian London, 1891 to be precise, Penny Dreadful stars Timothy Dalton, Eva Green and Josh Hartnett as a mishmash trio of explorers searching for Dalton’s character’s daughter. Classic horror characters such as Frankenstein, Dracula and Dorian Gray are woven into the story line.

“Penny dreadful” was a term used to refer to dime novels and horror books in Victorian-era England.

According to The Toronto Star, the series premiere “did a fantastic job at setting the series’ dark, gothic tone while making it accessible to both new and seasoned horror fans alike.”

Penny Dreadful debuted in Showtime’s 10:00 pm time slot immediately after network strongman Californication and drew in 872,000 viewers. After accounting for multiple plays Sunday night, the total number of viewers came in at 1.443 million.

Breaking down the stats even further, 895,000 – or 62% – of the 1.443 million were in the highly-sought-after 18-49 age demographic. This made Penny Dreadful’s premiere the best in that younger age group since Dexter’s in 2006, which set a network record of 65%.

Impressively, Penny Dreadful topped the series premieres of Homeland and Masters of Sex by about 5%.

Further evidence of the premiere’s success is the fact that the numbers above don’t include the 900,000 Showtime subscribers who watched online when the network made the premiere available two weeks prior to Sunday night’s formal debut.

  • Heather Graham Writes Sexy Screenplay for Women

“…And you can find out more about what gets a woman off!”

In the same interview in which actress Heather Graham told Esquire that Hollywood is “totally sexist,” she announced plans for a film that focuses on the real sexuality of women.

“If you look at all the movies being made these days, eighty percent of them are about men,” Graham said.

“There’s not much I can do about it. It’s a sexist world and a sexist industry. But I’ve been very lucky as an actress, to work as much as I have and as consistently as I have. And when you don’t see the kind of stories out there that represent you, you have to make them yourself. I actually just wrote a script that I want to direct.”

The story focuses on sex from the “female point of view,” specifically women “who like having sex.”

“I don’t see anything in film about women who want to have sex,” the 44-year old Boogie Nights star said. “I don’t see myself and my friends represented. When do you ever get to see a movie from the point of view of a woman who’s more interested in having really great orgasms than finding a husband? I would say almost never.”

Graham hopes to not only direct the film, which is casting right now, but also star in it. The plan is to start shooting this summer.

In researching her screenplay, Graham turned to a real-life book called “Extended Massive Orgasm,” written by husband-wife duo Dr. Steve and Dr. Vera Bodansky.

The book claims to “show the beauty and power of the Extended Massive Orgasm,” taught by the duo who has “dedicated [their] lives to the study of sensuality and the power of orgasm.”

“To be honest, in this society, women are really nurturing, and we’re brought up to take care of other people,” Graham spoke of the book. “So we sometimes forget to ask ‘What feels good to me?’ or ‘What do I want?’ This book looks at sex in terms of what gets a woman off, as opposed to what gets a man off.

“But what actually gets a woman off? I think it’s worth exploring. I’m sure men really want to know. Why wouldn’t they? But it’s more mysterious. So these people wrote this book, going into depth about what’s involved.”

Graham has previously been seen in Swingers, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and The Hangover. She is currently playing a reoccurring role in the last season of Showtime’s Californication starring David Duchovny.

  • Heather Graham Hints About “Californication” Role

Heather Graham sat down for an interview recently on “Today” and talked a bit about her new role on Californication, saying she couldn’t come right out and talk about her character but could give us some hints.

“In the first episode they revealed that David (Duchovny, who plays Hank Moody on the show) has a son that he’s never known about….so I’m in the next episode,” she said.

The blonde bombshell also talked about her “nerd” status and said she was a geeky kid with neck gear, not unlike Joan Cusack’s character in 16 Candles. The image definitely doesn’t gel with what we know of Graham, who has played some of the sexiest characters on film throughout her career.

“I think when you grow up, how you see yourself as a teenager or a kid, you always kind of feel that way about yourself even though you think, ‘Oh it’s so cool that people see me in this other way’, you know inside that you’re just a big nerd,” she said.

The actress made headlines this week with an interview she did with Esquire in which she calls the movie industry sexist. The 44-year old actress says that although she’s happy to still be getting roles, she does recognize that the business leans heavily towards one side.

“It’s totally sexist. If you look at all the movies being made these days, eighty percent of them are about men,” she said. “There’s not much I can do about it. It’s a sexist world and a sexist industry. But I’ve been very lucky as an actress, to work as much as I have and as consistently as I have. And when you don’t see the kind of stories out there that represent you, you have to make them yourself.”

That said, it might come as a surprise to some that she’s chosen to accept a role on a show like Californication, where women are little more than pleasure centers for the main character. Still, she says, the “sexy mom” role is one she’ll take because she doesn’t get to be a mother in real life.

“I’m just glad to be working. I’m not actually a mom in real life, so it’s fun to pretend to be one. I like to approach things the same in art as in life. You can choose to look on the positive side and enjoy whatever roles you’re given. You can find the silver lining in anything.”

  • Heather Graham Says Hollywood is “Totally Sexist”

In a recent interview with Esquire magazine, Boogie Nights actress Heather Graham spoke out about the blatant sexism in Hollywood.

Appearing in the final season of Showtime’s Californication, Graham was asked about her recent bout of “sexy mother” roles and whether or not she feels typecast.

“I’m just glad to be working,” the 44-year old actress said. “I’m not actually a mom in real life, so it’s fun to pretend to be one. I like to approach things the same in art as in life. You can choose to look on the positive side and enjoy whatever roles you’re given. You can find the silver lining in anything.”

She then went on to add, “I’m not saying the movie business isn’t sexist. It’s totally sexist. If you look at all the movies being made these days, eighty percent of them are about men … It’s a sexist world and a sexist industry. But I’ve been very lucky as an actress, to work as much as I have and as consistently as I have.”

Though Graham is also known for her roles in films such as Swingers, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and The Hangover, the topic of her role as a young rollerskating porn star in Boogie Nights always seems to arise – thus, bringing home the fact that Hollywood is, indeed, “totally sexist.”

But Graham told Esquire that the role of women in films is one of the reasons she wrote a script about sex from the female point of view.

“Specifically women who like having sex,” she said. “I don’t see anything in film about women who want to have sex. I don’t see myself and my friends represented. When do you ever get to see a movie from the point of view of a woman who’s more interested in having really great orgasms than finding a husband? I would say almost never.”

Graham’s screenplay was written with help from a book called Extended Massive Orgasm by Steve and Vera Bodansky.

“What actually gets a woman off?” Graham asked. “I think it’s worth exploring. I’m sure men really want to know. Why wouldn’t they? But it’s more mysterious. So these people wrote this book, going into depth about what’s involved.”

Graham can be seen in her recurring role on Californication which started last Sunday, April 20, at 9:30pm ET on Showtime.

  • David Duchovny Signs On For NBC Drama About Charles Manson

David Duchovny has been seen in a handful of films, but perhaps he will always be known as a television actor. As one show ends, another will begin, and he is finally returning to broadcast television, years after The X-Files ended.

He gained his initial fame as FBI Agent Fox Mulder on The X-Files, and for the past seven years, he has played the constantly drunk, and sex-crazed author, Hank Moody on Californication.

Chairman of NBC Entertainment Robert Greenblatt said of his casting that “After being involved in the production of both The X-Files and Californication, it gives me great pleasure to work with David Duchovny for the third time on this compelling drama.”

The series is called Aquarius, and has been given a 13-episode series order before shooting its pilot. However, the show is also being billed as an event series, and may only last for one season. It is similar to what is being done with 24: Live Another Day, and NBC is also bringing back Heroes in a way with an event series called Heroes: Reborn.

In his return to broadcast television, Duchovny will play a Los Angeles police sergeant who is tracking the infamous cult leader recruiting young women for his “cause,” who has become infamously known as Charles Manson.

According to NBC, “The twists and turns of a complicated undercover operation will lead Duchovny’s character and his young partner to the brink of Manson’s crimes that will eventually lead to the Tate-LaBianca murders in subsequent seasons.”

Despite ordering people to commit multiple murders, the tale of Charles Manson has continually sparked interest in people in a similar way to someone like Hannibal Lecter. At the end of the investigation, Manson was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder, and he is currently serving a life sentence in Corcoran State Prison in California.

Aquarius will be set in the late 1960’s, a few years before Charles Manson was caught, and feature a thrilling pursuit of the infamous criminal. Duchovny feels that the show has a chance to be special, and looks forward to getting started with it.

David Duchovny, who has received Golden Globe nominations for both Californication and The X-Files, has booked his next gig following the seventh and final season of his showtime hit. Season seven of Californication will begin on April 13.
