  • Royal Baby Watch in London: Prince or Princess, and When Will Kate Middleton Give Birth?

The royal baby watch is hitting fever pitch–higher, of course, in London–but prevalent in places around the world. Kate Middleton and Prince William will soon welcome their second royal baby into their family–a sibling for little Prince George. Will the little prince be welcoming a brother or a sister? If Kate and Will know, they haven’t shared that information with the media.

Princess Kate (Middleton) hails from Bucklebury, and their way of preparing for the royal baby is to maintain their everyday activities.

“The excitement is bubbling away, but Bucklebury is just as sleepy as ever,” local shop owner Lynda Tillotson tells People magazine. “Nothing really changes here.”

Tillotson also says the only real sign of the impending royal birth is that people have started to flock to their village. These folks are merely mirroring the gathering that takes place outside the London hospital where Kate Middleton will give birth.

“They are beside themselves in anticipation. So you could say the official countdown has started!” she adds.

Buckelbury has been through all of this before, of course, when they awaited the birth of Prince George.

“It’s exactly the same as last time,” a local source tells People. “A new royal baby is always an exciting thing isn’t it?”

So when, exactly, is this royal baby due? The only official statement made about the due date is that the baby is due in April. As time went by, some said the royal baby is coming in mid-April. It’s now the 19th of April, so chances are Kate Middleton is very near her due date.

As with the birth of Prince George, Kate Middleton will give birth to this royal baby inside the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London. Dr. Alan Farthing, who was on Kate’s medical team last time, will lead the team this time as well, along with obstetrician Guy Thorpe-Beeston.

Royal baby fever is running hot in London, and probably lukewarm in Bucklebury, but it seems everyone practically everywhere is talking about Prince William, Princess Kate, and their soon-to-be second royal baby. Queen Elizabeth is no doubt beside herself with excitement.

Will you be checking media sources on a daily basis to stay abreast of when the royal baby makes his or her appearance?
