  • Lea Michele Calls New York Her Home

Lea Michele is a fan of big family dinners, and that’s what she reportedly yearns for when life seems just a bit too crazy for her liking. The Glee star who mourned the death of boyfriend and costar Cory Monteith a year ago, lives in Los Angeles but grew up in New York. And it’s New York she heads for when the going gets tough.

“A good dinner with my mom and dad and my big Italian family,” she said during a recent interview. “No matter what is going on in my life or in this business, that is my home.”

When asked about her fame, Lea Michele recently said she can’t believe how far she’s come. She admits the roots to that fame lie in New York, too. She was cast in a Broadway production at the age of eight.

“I never thought I would be on such an amazing show and living in LA, so this has so far exceeded anything I could have dreamt of,” she said. “I think it teaches you not to set limits for yourself and to go 100 per cent into whatever you believe in.”

Barbra Steisand–a fellow native New Yorker–is Lea Michele’s role model–a rather unusual choice for such a young woman–but there’s something rather classic about Lea, so why wouldn’t she emulate one of the best?

“I really love her. She’s always been a role model. She built her career by focusing on what makes her unique–it’s how she became so successful,” Lea said recently. “I want to introduce that idea to this generation–that you take what makes you unique, what makes you you, and you will achieve all your dreams. It really is what has got me to where I am today.”

Where Lea Michele is today is on the hit TV show Glee. But did you know she’s also an author?

Lea can also add recording artist and being a former Broadway play cast member to her impressive resume.

Yes, Lea Michele has hit some pretty serious bumps along the road of her young life, but she has bounced back. Those who admire Lea know there’s way more to come. And she knows there are those huge family dinners–just waiting to make everything alright when she needs some reassurance.

  • Shia LaBeouf Arrested at Broadway’s ‘Cabaret’

Shia LaBeouf was taken away from a Broadway performance of Cabaret in handcuffs on Thursday night following some very bizarre behavior. He’s been charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal trespassing. The show, which stars Michelle Williams and Alan Cumming, was in its first act when the Transformers star started behaving in a very disruptive manner. The NYPD reports that Shia was also ‘making threats.’ The cast and audience members witnessed the rather disturbing scene.

LaBeouf made big headlines earlier this year for his ‘performance art’ in Berlin–wearing a paper bag over his head at a red carpet event that read ‘I’m Not Famous Anymore.’ That, of course, has some people wondering if Thursday night’s stunt at the theater was yet another facet of the bizarre actor’s ‘performance art.’

Social media is abuzz with comments about the strange incident.

Actress Lena Dunham seemed to find humor in the odd situation.

Coincidentally–or not–this weekend marks the premiere of Transformers: Age of Extinction–and this is the first film in the franchise in which Shia LaBeouf isn’t starring. Mark Wahlberg has taken over his role.

Is Shia LaBeouf mentally unstable or is he simply displaying his ‘performance art’ in a most belligerent way? Is he trying to get attention because Transformers premieres this weekend and he isn’t part of the award-winning cast?

Either way it’s kind of sad. The former Even Stevens Disney child star was adorable and talented. His career skyrocketed shortly thereafter. Something has very clearly gone wrong.

  • Taylor Swift and Sarah Hyland: Mother and Daughter?

Taylor Swift and Sarah Hyland were out together recently–attending a Broadway play–when it occurred to Hyland that they looked like a straight-laced mom and her rebellious teenaged daughter. Swift wore a rather conservative pink coat while Hyland dressed like someone more the ages of the two ladies.

It was while the pair was en route to see Under My Skin at The Little Shubert Theatre that it occurred to the girls that they were actually dressed like complete opposites.

It was then they decided that an Instagram photo was definitely a necessary part of their evening.

“We decided we were dressed like a [straight]-laced mom and her rebellious teen daughter. #YouDon’tUnderstandMeMom!!! #StormsOut #ComeBackHere,YoungLady!” Taylor Swift captioned the Instagram photo.

It’s quite clear that by the time the notion of taking the photo came along that both Taylor Swift and Sarah Hyland were playing up their faux roles to the hilt.

Of course it was completely necessary for two photos to be taken–the second one for posting on Sarah Hyland’s Instagram page. This one was captioned, “When your mom gives you “the finger”… #donttellmewhattodo @taylorswift.”

It seems some fans took their play acting very seriously and even asked the Modern Family star if she was serious about what she had said about Taylor Swift. She set them straight about the fun they were having.

Taylor Swift is in the habit of dressing far more conservatively than many young women her age, but she always manages to look fun, flirty, and very classy. Sarah Hyland is far more the norm, however, in her jeans and her black leather jacket.

  • Condola Rashad Sparks Romance on Stage with Orlando Bloom

It hasn’t even been a month since actor Orlando Bloom split from his wife, Miranda Kerr. Now, he’s moved on to another whirlwind romance, and he’s even went so far as to share his experience with kissing her. But it’s not exactly what you think. Broadway rising star, Condola Rashad, and the veteran actor are currently starring as star-crossed lovers in the David Leveaux broadway rendition of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.”

Earlier this month, shortly after opening night for the broadway production, Rashad, 26, spoke with Newsday about how the immediate chemisty between the two came about. “What’s funny is that we didn’t have to force it. We had a connection from the minute we met … a sense of comfort with each other. Which was cool. We both loved the work. And he’s such a great guy.”

The “Steel Magnolias” actress also went so far as to dote on the actor when she spoke with Broadway.com. “He’s a heartthrob, that one! “We didn’t have to work too hard at it. We hang out sometimes afterward, but we’ve built the relationship we have just by being around each other. … We have a lot of fun and trust between the two of us.” While Rashad’s sentiments were complimentary, Bloom put a whole new spin on things a couple days ago.

Bloom stopped by “Live with Kelly and Michael” on Friday. While he didn’t make any mention of the details involving the dissolution of his marriage, he did speak quite fervently about something else.

The British actor vividly described how it feels to kiss his ‘Juliet,’ Condola Rashad. Since they’re on stage eight times a week playing opposite each other, kissing scenes happen more often than not.

According to the New York Post, Bloom spoke openly to Kelly Ripa about the intimate scenes. “We sometimes get applause after our first kiss because it just goes on. Sometimes I’m like, I’m not letting go,” admitted Bloom.

So, although it may just be for the stage, fans can’t help but wonder if there’s more to it. Maybe everyone will just have to wait and see how everything plays out once the curtains close.
