  • Britney Spears is Dedicated Mom, Learning Algebra to Help Son With Homework

Britney Spears is nothing if not a completely dedicated mom to sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. In fact, she’s learning algebra so she can help her boys do their homework. Now that’s a sure sign of dedication. Most people who struggled with algebra the first time around would hire a tutor to help their kids–and Britney Spears can no doubt afford to do just that–yet she plans to alongside her kids on their homework like any other mom.

“They go to a really hard school, and this week we had three hours of homework [a night],” Spears said in a recent interview with People magazine of 9-year-old Sean Preston and 8-year-old Jayden James’ crazy homework schedule.

“Some of it is hard for me,” she added. “Next year when [Preston’s] in fifth grade, he’s going to be doing pre-algebra, and I’m taking classes so I know how to do it!”

In addition to being a strict mom with regard to her son’s homework, Britney Spears doesn’t believe in spoiling her boys either. She seriously limits that number of toys and amount of cash they are given.

“If they get so many A’s, they get one toy a month,” Spears said of her incentive system.

The boys also have household chores they perform regularly–things like washing their own dirty dishes, taking out trash and helping with the family’s dogs.

“Preston just asked for a high allowance like $10 a week or $20 a week–but we’ll see,” she shared.

Britney Spears even hinted that despite being enamored with her two sons, she might like to have another child–specifically a little girl–some day. Do you suppose she and boyfriend Charlie Ebersol are thinking along those lines?

Spears referred her prospective baby girl as a ‘mini-me,’ and said it’s not out of the question.

“That would be fun,” she said, smiling.

It’s truly wonderful to see the strides Britney Spears has made–from the days when she lost custody of her boys to ex-husband Kevin Federline–to the mom who takes algebra lessons to help her sons with their homework. Her residency in Las Vegas has been a blessing to all, as they can live a stable life while Britney still rakes in the dough–and lots of it, too–at her shows. She recently launched her own lingerie line–The Real Britney Spears–and will no doubt make big bucks from that, too.

Can you see Britney Spears adding to her family? If she and Charlie Ebersol decide to tie the knot, they’d make awfully cute babies.

Britney’s dad still has a conservatorship over her wealth, so it will be interesting to see if that presents issues should she and Ebersol settle down.

  • Britney Spears’ Fiance Named Co-Conservator Of Her Estate

Pop tart Britney Spears has made quite a living over the years, between her music and various ventures into the world of fragrance, fashion and film. Now, the man she’s going to marry will have a say in how she earns and spends all that dough, which is a relief to her father.

Jamie Spears took over conservatorship of his daughter’s estate several years ago, around the time she divorced Keven Federline and had a mental breakdown that involved shaving her head and bashing a paparazzo’s car with an umbrella. Not only was he put in control of her finances, he also became responsible for her general well-being, protecting her from unsavory people like Sam Lufti, a man the Spears family says kept her doped up on prescription pills in order to isolate her from her family in an attempt to get money from her.

Now he’ll be sharing those duties with Jason Trawick, who is Britney’s former manager and new fiance. According to a judge’s rule on Wednesday, Trawick won’t have total control of her finances–including access to her fortune–but he will be able to oversee how she spends money. While it sounds hopelessly old-fashioned to some, the Spears family is relieved to have some help with getting their daughter back on the right track, and Britney says the idea was hers.

Spears has made a huge comeback in the years following her breakdown with two number-one albums–Circus and Femme Fatale–and successful tours, as well as making some savvy business decisions in signing on with the Candies clothing line and the hugely popular show X-Factor. She even managed to sell her house for a nice profit recently; things seem to be looking up for the star after a long, hard road.
