  • Brian Urlacher Dealing With Broken Heart, Knee

    Brian Urlacher, linebacker for the Chicago Bears, made headlines when he began dating Playboy covergirl Jenny McCarthy, but now things aren’t looking so rosy for him.

    McCarthy said in a statement yesterday that she and Brian have decided to turn their relationship into a friendship and that the two are ending things amicably.

    “Brian and I have decided to turn our romance into an amazing friendship,” McCarthy said. “I will continue to be the biggest cheerleader for him. Go, Bears!”

    McCarthy reportedly moved to Chicago to be closer to Urlacher, although their relationship is only a few months old (unless they were better at keeping it a secret than we thought). Friends say she’ll stay there with her son, Evan, because she has friends and family there anyway.

    Urlacher has more problems than a broken heart, however, starting with his bum knee. He’s had at least two surgeries performed on it–the most recent being this past Tuesday–and fans are speculating there are even more that the team isn’t disclosing. It’s unclear yet whether he will be able to play when the season begins.

    Jenny McCarthy’s dating habits are always good for quick gossip. Over the weekend, I’m sure the most asked question amongst the young, hip, and connected was “Is Jenny McCarthy really dating Chicago Bears player Brian Urlacher?” Although rumors were circulating a few weeks ago that she had been dating the professional footballer, it would seem that the two are, in fact, a couple. For the time being, anyway.

    A close friend told the Chicago Sun Times that she “has really fallen for the guy. He’s such a man’s man, the most macho guy Jenny’s dated or been involved with for a long, long time.” Previously, McCarthy dated funnyman Jim Carrey, though that relationship ended famously in 2010. Since then, the former Playboy Playmate has been connected to sports agent Paul Krepelka, though that pairing appears to have come to a conclusion, as well.

    McCarthy is a fan of the strong, silent type? That’s news to me. If this is the case, why her relationship with Carrey lasted for so long is truly anybody’s guess.

    The couple was seen at a number of locations over the weekend, including RPM Italian, Studio Paris and Board Room. However, despite these public appearances, McCarthy isn’t ready to spill the beans just yet. However, she has told friends that she is extremely “giddy” about the prospects surrounding her new beau. When she’s ready to officially share her joy with the entire world, chances are you’re going to hear about it.

  • Brian Urlacher To Retire With Playmate Jenny McCarthy At His Side?

    Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher said last week that when he retires, he wants to do it as a Bear, and recent rumors swirling around him suggest he might be doing it with actress and Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy at his side.

    Urlacher is a well-respected player in the NFL, making eight Pro Bowl appearances and five All-Pro selections since 2000, when the Bears picked him in the draft. At 33, he’s entering the final year of his contract with the team, after which he’ll be a free agent. Although he says he has no immediate plans to retire, he certainly wants to do it with the team that has propelled his career and supported him throughout it.

    ‘‘There’s no doubt in my mind I’ll finish my career with the Bears,’’ Urlacher said. ‘‘However that works out, it works out. I can’t imagine playing anywhere else.’’

    ‘‘He’s been the face of the franchise, sometimes reluctantly,’’ Bears chairman George McCaskey has said. ‘‘But he’s accepted that responsibility. You saw last year how his teammates feel about him when his mom passed away. And you saw how he felt about his teammates when, in the midst of his grief, he came back to his family in the locker room. Just a hell of a guy.’’

    Although an injury in the last game of last season still isn’t recovered 100%, he says he’ll be ready for whatever his team needs. In the meantime, he’s relaxing with the likes of Jenny McCarthy, the blonde bombshell who was known in the ’90s as the flirty, funny co-host of MTV’s “Singled Out”–and for posing in Playboy–and has made headlines in recent years as an activist for autism research; her son, Evan, was diagnosed with the disorder at a young age. Urlacher and McCarthy were seen sneaking out the back door of a posh steakhouse in L.A. recently, and since then the rumors have flown regarding their possible romance. Neither of them has commented on the rumor yet.

    Jenny McCarthy hasn’t had much luck with Hollywood hunks and says it is hard to find a man’s man in L.A. Her dating endeavor has led her to lower her standards, “I don’t care if they have a big nose. I don’t care if they’re bald. [I just want someone who’s] really sweet and who’s a perfect reflection of who I am now.”

    The former playboy playmate is still stunning at 39 and has been caught dining at Mastro’s in L.A. with Brian Urlacher, a linebacker for the Chicago Bears.

    Mastro’s is a contemporary steakhouse that boasts a grand bar and piano longe. They are known for their top-notch steaks and dry ice martinis.

    Apparently chivalry isn’t dead, it is just selective.

    As their date drew to an end, the pair snuck out the back entrance of the restaurant and were caught on tape by the paparazzi. Way to kill the mood TMZ.
