  • Mickey Rourke’s Sister Is Asking For Help

According to a police report out of Miami Beach, Florida, a man broke into the house of Mickey Rourke’s sister on Saturday. Patti Rourke was reportedly asleep at the time of the break in when she heard her house alarm go off.

Rourke told officers at the scene that she saw a man walk out of her kitchen. The burglar reportedly said “Oh my God” and then fled.

Rourke also told police that she ran after the would-be burglar and spotted him driving away in an SUV, maybe a Range Rover. The man had parked the car in the neighbor’s driveway. She was unable to get a license plate number.

Tim Fine, Rourke’s husband, was away on business at the time. He told Local 10 News, “She’s the apple of my life, and I wouldn’t want anything to happen to her while I was away. I feel if I was here, I’d have caught the guy.” He added, “I’m not home to protect my wife. We’ve put cameras, alarm systems. You try to protect your family the best you can.”

Rourke’s surveillance system caught the man breaking into the house. She has released the footage and is asking for the public’s help in catching the criminal.

The intruder did not take anything from the house and no one was hurt. Fine said, “If we can catch this guy, I know that my neighbors would feel a little bit safer. My grandchildren sleep in this house. It hurts me that someone like this is out there and I wouldn’t want this to happen to anybody.”

Of course, the break in has sparked concern among neighbors. “I’m surprised to hear of this type of criminal activity in this neighborhood. We’ve been here 23 years, and it’s been extraordinarily safe,” said neighbor Paul Singerman.

  • Keri Russell: Home Broken Into While She Slept

Not even celebrities are safe from having their homes broken into, even if they’re home when it happens.

Keri Russell, of Felicity fame and the current FX series, The Americans, was sleeping in her Brooklyn Heights brownstone when she heard noises around 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning coming from upstairs. When she got up to find out what the cause of the noises were, she found a window in her living room and her front door wide open.

Russell told the NYPD that the burglars got off with a laptop computer, a necklace, earrings, and a Filson handbag.

Law enforcement told TMZ they arrested two men some blocks away from Russell’s home burglarizing the residence of a 70-year-old white woman a little after 5:00 a.m. The woman described the two men and the cops found them nearby and took them in for questioning.

Thanks to the great work of the NYPD, Russell didn’t have to wait long to get her belongings back. They even went to the set of her TV show, The Americans, to give her back her necklace, earrings, laptop, and purse.

While on the set of her show, Russell told The New York Post, “The New York City cops were awesome. They’re bringing my stuff back right now — when does that ever happen?! ”

Russell’s rep said, “Everyone is fine, and Keri sends her thanks to the police. She returned to work on The Americans today.”

It looks like Russell was the only one home at the time of the incident. The report says her husband, carpenter Shane Deary, and their children, son River and daughter Willa were not there at the time of the break in.

A spokesperson for the NYPD said Ronald Swindell and his nephew Steffon have been arrested and charged with burglary in the incident at Russell’s home and criminal possession of stolen items for the second home.

  • “The Lonely Doll”: Creepy Book left by Famke Janssen’s Bed

Actress Famke Janssen says that an intruder broke into her home in New York City and left a creepy children’s book called, “The Lonely Doll” next to her bed.

Despite the fact that Janssen says she has never seen the book in her life, detectives believe that it is actually Janssen’s book and that there was no intrusion involved. A source said, “They [detectives] believe that the book belongs to Janssen. The book has some connection to her home.”

Janssen originally told the police that she discovered the book after coming home from running errands on August 1. She filed a report at the First Precinct station house two days later. “She walked into her bedroom and noticed a children’s book standing on the shelf beside her bed,” a source said.

However, after investigating the situation and watching surveillance videos thoroughly , police have found no evidence that anyone broke into her home.

“There is nobody suspicious” and “all the people on the video are accounted for,” said the law enforcement.

Also, police said they found a “to-do” list hidden between the pages of the book with Janssen’s name on it.

“The Lonely Doll” was first published in 1957 and is about a doll named Edith that befriends two teddy bears, Mr. Bear and Little Bear. Sounds innocent enough right? Not really. The father bear spanks Edith in one scene and then Edith tells him: “don’t leave me I’ll do whatever you want”. Many have called the book “disturbing” and “abusive”.

Janssen is not expected to be charged for filing a false report because she actually believes that someone broke into her home and left the book.
