  • Bradley Cooper to Star in ‘American Blood’

Bradley Cooper sure has been busy lately. Fresh off of his success in the film American Hustle, Cooper has signed on for another big project.

Cooper is set to play NYPD officer Marshall Grade in the thriller American Blood. This film is based on the fourth book written by New Zealand author Ben Sanders.

American Blood tells the tale of undercover cop turned mob-informant Grade, who is sent to New Mexico as part of the witness protection program. His safety becomes in jeopardy, however, as the case begins to unravel.

This role is a huge opportunity for Cooper, as it is seen as the first of a series, which means he’ll have a few likely guaranteed roles. The franchise proposition is also alluring to TV and film companies, and will likely result in lots of buzz for the movie.

Cooper isn’t a stranger to wildly successful films; he received Oscar nominations for best supporting actor for the films Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle. He also hit big with The Hangover trilogy, Wedding Crashers, Limitless, Failure to Launch, and many other films.

The actor has proved he’s a man of many talents, as he has served as executive producer in Limitless, Silver Linings Playbook, The Words, and American Hustle. He is also slated to produce American Blood.

Not one to let the dust settle around him too long, Cooper has a variety of other projects in the works, as well. He will star alongside his favorite co-star Jennifer Lawrence in the period piece Serena, set to premier in April. He also lent his voice to play Rocket Raccoon in Marvel’s superhero film, Guardians of the Galaxy. Chris Pratt, ex-girlfriend Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, and Dave Bautista are also in the movie.

  • Amy Adams Breaks Down Over Philip Seymour Hoffman

On Wednesday actress Amy Adams sat down with James Lipton for an episode of Inside the Actors Studio, and while the two discussed everything from Adam’s technique to her multiple Oscar nominations, it was the mention of Philip Seymour Hoffman that turned the interview somber and made Adams reminisce about the actor.

After Lipton asked her about the film Doubt, where she worked with Hoffman, Adams instantly began to shed tears and talked about how great of an actor he was and how attentive he always managed to be.

“Gosh, I wish you could all get a chance to work with him,” she said. “He was beautiful, a beautiful spirit. And he has this unique ability to see people, really see them. And he will be missed. Sorry, I really…I just really loved him and I know so many people did, and I just don’t know how much more I can talk about it now. Sorry.”

However, the interview reached a much lighter note when Adams talked about filming the movie American Hustle with Bradley Cooper. She was blown away by how hard he worked, and was even more impressed with how respectful he was during the entire shoot.

“It’s wonderful [working with Cooper],” stated Adams. “It’s really great to work with somebody, who again, is such a hard worker. He’s so positive. He’s so ready for anything, and he’s also such a gentleman.” During the shoot the director would tell him something like “‘Pull her skirt up,’ and he’s like ‘Is that OK? Is that alright?’”

But besides the acting questions, Lipton also asked the actress his usual set of random questions, which is always good for a laugh or two.

When it comes to Adams’ favorite word, it’s “yes” and her least favorite word is “no,” she said. And when it comes to her favorite sound, she loves listening to her daughter break out into laughter. “My daughter laughing [is my favorite sound],” she said. “When she really, really laughs.

  • Bradley Cooper Talks Past Drug and Alcohol Abuse

Bradley Cooper may have been more accustomed to the Hangover lifestyle than fans will ever know.

The American Hustle actor recently shared details about his personal life in the January 2014 issue of GQ Magazine. He discussed his ongoing battle with drug and alcohol abuse. Fortunately, the 38-year-old actor is finally on the path to recovery.

“If I continued it, I was really going to sabotage my whole life,” Cooper said.

Around 2005, Cooper was treading on extremely thin ice due to personal issues he was having at the time.

In a previous interview with Hollywood Reporter, he spoke of a terrible incident where he willfully bashed his head against concrete while at a party. The violent act resulted in hospitalization.

However, his bout started long before the 2005 incident. Cooper recounted his plight as a struggling actor over 10 years ago, which was around the time of his stint on the ABC drama series Alias.

After the premiere of the show in 2001, things went awry as his screen-time rapidly diminished in the second season. He revealed that both his personal and professional life were filled with contention.

Cooper even shared that he had come to the realization that he was on a downward spiral, admitting to thoughts of suicide.

“I would only work three days a week,” Cooper said of his role as Will Tippin on the show. And then for the second season, I got even more sidelined. I was like, ‘Ugh,’ and then next thing you know, I was like, ‘I want to f—ing kill myself.’”

“I think work was getting f—-d up,” he admitted. “The one thing that I’ve learned in life is the best thing I can do is embrace who I am and then do that to the fullest extent, and then whatever happens, happens. The more steps I do to not do that, the farther I am away from fulfilling any potential I would have . . .Yes, of course it hindered the work.”

Cooper accredited the substantial progress he’s made in his personal and professional life to sobriety. “I was doing these movies, and I got to meet Sandra Bullock and meet these people and work with them,” he says.

“And I’m sober, and I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m actually myself. And I don’t have to put on this air to be somebody else, and this person still wants to work with me? Oh, what the f— is that about?’ I was rediscovering myself in this workplace, and it was wonderful.”

  • Anne Hathaway Gave Up Huge Role in “Silver Linings”

Anne Hathaway Gave Up Huge Role in “Silver Linings”

Yesterday morning Hollywood heavyweight, Harvey Weinstein, dropped by Howard Stern’s radio show and discussed past film projects, actresses, and other topics. One of the questions he was asked about was finding the perfect person for a role, then losing that person for whatever reason. “Does it drive you insane,” asked Stern. ”

“It doesn’t drive me insane because I’ve always believed if we can’t get somebody established, we’ll find somebody new,” said Weinstein, speaking about last year’s “Silver Linings Playbook.” Although actress Jennifer Lawrence got the part, it was written for Anne Hathaway and Bradley Cooper wasn’t supposed to be in the film either.

“Silver Linings Playbook was originally going to be with Anne Hathaway and Mark Wahlberg,” said Weinstein. “And then Anne wasn’t doing it, and she’s marvelous, and wonderful and she was my choice. I love her.”

And why the sudden change? Creative differences, he noted. “We had Annie and then we had Mark, then whatever happened, happened. David and Anne had some creative differences. They didn’t see eye-to-eye.”

David Russell directed “Silver Linings Playbook,” which of course went on to win eight academy awards and it made actors Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper into bigger stars.

And although Hathaway went on to win an Oscar that same year for “Les Miserables,” there’s a good chance that she wouldn’t have been received as well in “Silver Linings.” Do you remember the term “Hathahaters” last year? That was the name for people who couldn’t stomach the 31-year old, because according to fans and a now popular New York Times article, some felt that Hathaway was a bit on the pretentious side, which of course always rubs people the wrong way.

Thankfully for Weinstein, he found the perfect actress for the part in Jennifer Lawrence. “How the hell are we gonna replace Annie,” he said after initially losing her. “And then this amazing creature walked in who is a brilliant actress, and so much fun, and she won an Oscar.”

  • Amy Adams Bares it all in American Hustle

Amy Adams Bares it all in American Hustle

Here’s what most of us already know about David O. Russell’s new upcoming film American Hustle. Yes, Bradley Cooper not only has really curly hair, but he sets in rollers like my grandmother does before church every Sunday. Christan Bale sports a sweet comb over and has such a big beer gut that’s it hard to believe that this is the same guy that got down to 120 pounds in The Machinist and then bulked up to Superhero weight to play Batman.

We can also see that the film takes place in the 1970s and has a very stylized, almost Scorsesesque look to it. The general gist of the plot seems to be about con men and women, a dirty FBI agent and the mob. And finally, maybe you’ve heard? Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence do a little lip-locking.

    Have your attention now?

Amy Adams spoke with E! News about kissing her sexy female co-star and also about being asked at the last minute to strip down naked.

The 39 year old actress spoke candidly about the details of her romantic scene with Lawrence. “It’s funny because after the first take of that, I ended up with lipstick out to here [gestures all around her mouth]—she has very full lips—and also playing somebody who’s not puckering for a kiss, its really interesting how a kiss hits you when you’re not participating in it.” She went on to add. “Jennifer pulls it off wonderfully because you believe it again as part of the character. It doesn’t feel like this salacious, sexual kiss between two women. Its part of her struggle for control.”

    (image)

As for getting nude, Adams says that was never part of the original plan. Perhaps because she’s worked with David O. Russell before (she received an Academy Award nomination for her performance in The Fighter), she felt comfortable enough with him at the helm to bare it all on the big screen. “David threw that at me last minute, too. He didn’t give me time to think about it at all. It was the night before, so I got a text or I might have woken up in the morning, saying, ‘I think your character might have been a stripper. I think we wanna shoot it.’ And its the first day of filming and its the end of the day, so I said, ‘Well, as long as you let me look at the scene, I’ll do it.’ And he did.”

American Hustle will hit theaters nationally on December 20th. It is already receiving tons of Oscar buzz. It currently has a 97% approval rating on rottentomatoes.com.

  • Jennifer Lawrence Red Hot in ‘American Hustle’

Jennifer Lawrence might star in Catching Fire, but she’s sizzling hot in American Hustle. With her director from The Silver Linings Playbook at the helm, might this be yet another Oscar contender for the young starlet?

The film is about corruption in the American 1970s, between the Mafia, the FBI and a whole slew of bad guys. It’s based on a real-life corruption scandal from that time period. In addition to Lawrence, American Hustle is replete with big name actors. Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams join her on the big screen.

Jennifer Lawrence plays the role of Rosalyn Rosenfeld, who is married to Christian Bale’s character, Irving Rosenfeld. She’s a real piece of work, wearing Halston couture, with sleazy plunging necklines. She’s ditzy and glamorous, while exuding a sense of cheap that was tantamount to the players in the 1970s corruption schemes.

1970s music is featured throughout the film, with songs like Elton John’s Goodbye Yellowbrick Road and How Can You Mend a Broken Heart by the Bee Gees. Each song included relates to what’s happening on screen.

Twitter followers are catching on about how sexy Jennifer Lawrence is in this film.

Will you be visiting theaters starting on December 18th to watch Jennifer Lawrence sizzle in American Hustle? She’ll likely burn the chill right out of any cold December day with what reviewers are calling her red hot performance. It sounds like after this film (and Lawrence) has worked the big screens around the country, that The Hunger Games will seem like child’s play where this talented young actress is concerned.

  • Bradley Cooper On His Planned Date For Oscars

Bradley Cooper, who received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor this year, says he already knows who he’ll have on his arm on the red carpet.

The nomination–for his role in “Silver Linings Playbook” opposite Jennifer Lawrence–was just announced last week, but Cooper says he has a standing date: his mom.

“Oh yeah, that was done,” he said. “One night, when I started the profession, [my mom said], ‘If you ever [get nominated], I am the date.’”

Since news broke earlier this month that Cooper is now a single man again, one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors is garnering rumors of a romance with his “Silver Linings” co-star, which he adamantly denies, saying he’s old enough to be her father.

“We’ve done two movies together,” he said. “If it didn’t happen by now, it’s not going to happen.”
