Sarah Palin Starts Book Tour Next Week

Everyone knows Sarah Palin the politician. Now, meet Sarah Palin the accomplished author. While this isn’t her first release, the former Governor of Alaska is gradually making a name for herself where literary works are concerned. Now, she’s back again with her third release. According to ABC News, next week, Palin is set to embark on a holiday season book tour. She and GOP vice presidential candidate will be her latest book, “Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas.”

The title of the book is derived from the new testament of the bible, when the angel appeared in the fields to announce the birth of Christ to the shepherds. The passage comes from Luke 2:10 “And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

The book’s publisher, HarperCollins released a brief statement announcing the dates for Palin’s tour which is set to begin Nov. 12 at a Barnes & Noble Southmont Way location in Bethlehem, Pa. Harper Collins also gave a brief synopsis of the new book in the press release:

“In Good Tidings and Great Joy she calls for bringing back the freedom to express the Christian values of the season. She asserts the importance of preserving Jesus Christ in Christmas—in public displays, school concerts, pageants, and our expressions to one another other—and laments the over-commercialization and homogenization of Christmas in today’s society.”

Palin also took to Facebook to share all of her scheduled tour dates for the month of November. She also included a brief statement, sharing her anticipation of the book tour, and what’s to be expected when she’s out promoting.

“Looking forward to heading out on the first leg of our “Good Tidings and Great Joy” book tour! I wanted to share with you some of the pre-Thanksgiving schedule and details. (More to come!) We look forward to seeing you on the road, having the opportunity to spread the positive message of this book and really share in the true spirit of the Christmas season. I promise we can make these fun events for all! While our schedule is pretty packed, we plan to stop by local charities that embrace the spirit of Christmas year ’round to thank them and highlight their good work. And you never know when we’ll “Go Rogue” and pop up somewhere else. Merry Christmas! Can’t wait to see you!” – Sarah Palin

Palin’s tour details reveal that she plans to conduct this tour just like the last, although the locations in each city have not been posted. She will be bypassing the major metropolitan areas like New York City, Chicago, and Atlanta. Palin usually opts for a more general approach, reaching out to areas were book tours aren’t typically known for stopping. She’ll be making stops at military bases in Fort Campbell, Ky., and Fort Benning, GA.; a Costco location, and a Walmart in Wisconsin.

The tour is scheduled to wrap up Dec. 7 at a Barnes & Noble location in Roanoke, Va.

Sarah Palin to Tour with New Book

Sarah Palin is taking a break from politics and getting ready to begin a holiday book tour next week to promote her newest book, “Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas”. Her latest is published by HarperCollins, according to AP. The description on Amazon reads,

Her Facebook page is a little more eloquent and clear as to what she hopes this book will bring to America:

“This book is not about isolated trivialities. It’s not really about gingerbread cookies or stockings hung by the chimney with care, or the big fat man with the long, white beard. It’s not about a holiday at all. It’s about that little baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, who arrived long before hope and change became political manipulations. It’s about Christ and our ability to worship Him freely. It’s about America and what liberty truly means in our day to day lives…”

Sarah Palin’s tour will begin November the 12th at a Barnes & Noble in Bethlehem, Pa., and will end December 7th at a Barnes & Noble in Roanoke, Virginia. Just like in her previous book tours for her other books, “Going Rogue” and “America by Heart”, she is skipping all the usual major cities, and instead visiting smaller venues and military bases.

Her stops will include military bases in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and Fort Benning, Georgia, as well as a Costco in Dallas suburb Plano, Texas, and a Wal-Mart in Wausau, Wisconsin. Books will be available for sale beginning November 12th, in conjunction with the tour.
