  • Bobbi Kristina Brown Honored in Tyler Perry Tribute Video

Bobbi Kristina Brown was honored at a funeral service back on August 1st, and on Friday, a tribute video that was played at the funeral was released for the public to see.

Tyler Perry was a good friend of Whitney Houston, and a great support to both the Brown and Houston families during Bobbi Kristina Brown’s hospitalization and passing. Members of Whitney Houston’s family asked Perry to share the video with the public.

“The Houston estate asked if I would share this tribute that I put together for Bobbi Kristina’s private funeral,” Tyler Perry wrote on his Facebook page. “On behalf of the Brown and Houston families, we would all like to thank you for your prayers and support. God bless.”

The video starts with a few words from Bobbi Kristina Brown.

“I hope you feel my love, pain, beauty, agony at times, blessings all the time,” the quote from the late daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston reads. “No one understands me. And I don’t expect them to, but I will try to spread my love and my story through words and this blessing of a powerful voice mom has given me.”

Whitney Houston’s song “You Were Loved” plays in the background of the video as a montage of still shots of Bobbi Kristina Brown–from childhood through more recent times–grace the screen.

The video ends on the last note of Whitney Houston’s song, and yet another message from Bobbi Kristina Brown.

“Goodbye for now,” is posted as Bobbi Kristina blows a kiss to the camera.

Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unconscious in her Roswell, Georgia townhouse back on January 31. She never regained consciousness. She was hospitalized in Atlanta, then transferred to a rehab facility. Her last stay was at the Peachtree Christian Hospice outside of Atlanta, where she drew her last breath on July 26.

Nick Gordon, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s boyfriend, has been accused in a multi-million dollar civil suit of causing Bobbi Kristina’s death. He allegedly abused her in the days leading up to January 31, and stole money from her bank account. No legal action on behalf of authorities against Nick Gordon has taken place.

Tyler Perry captured the goodness in Bobbi Kristina Brown’s short and rather tumultuous life. Hopefully people will remember this video when they remember Bobbi Kristina–rather than only recalling the tragic way she died so young.

  • Lastonia Leviston to Get $2 Million More from 50 Cent

Lastonia Leviston will get an additional $2 million more than expected from 50 Cent, as part of money awarded to her from his posting her sex tape online.

On Friday, a Manhattan jury said 50 Cent should pay Lastonia Leviston $2 million in punitive damages on top of the $5 million she was already awarded.

“I’ve been served justice by the courts and vindicated by God,” Leviston said.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, wasn’t in court on Friday.

“I hope he learned a lesson,” Lastonia Leviston said.

Of course one might wonder whether she learned a lesson, too, of course. The scenario sort of begs the question, should she have made a sex tape?

Lastonia Leviston’s lawyer asked for $15 million in punitive damages earlier on Friday. And while she received a far cry less than that, she still seemed satisfied. 50 Cent’s lawyer only wanted to pay out $700,000.

Fitty made several claims of poverty during the trial, but it is clear the jurors didn’t buy them. He even filed for bankruptcy earlier in July.

“He has it. He’s 50 Cent. You know he has more than 50 cents,” juror Sylvia Rodriguez said.

“I don’t think he’s broke,” she added. “If anything he has it hidden.”

Fifty Cent appeared in court on Tuesday, and tried to share his humorous side. The jurors weren’t buying that either.

“I don’t think he was taking it seriously,” Rodriguez said. “He was winking at one of us, and then he just ran out of the courtroom. That wasn’t necessary.”

Lastonia Leviston said she hoped the verdict would teach the rapper that “you can’t be mean and cruel to people.”

James Renard, who is one of Fitty’s attorneys, was disappointed in the verdict.

“Although we appreciate the jury’s service, we are disappointed in the result,” he said. “Our client intends to file post-verdict, pre-judgment motions which we believe should reduce the size of the award.”

Do you think Lastonia Leviston was awarded a reasonable amount of money from a man who posted her sex tape on the internet?
