  • Bob Barker Suffers Fall, Head Injury During Walk

Bob Barker, the former longtime host of The Price Is Right, reportedly fell on Tuesday during a walk in his neighborhood when he tripped and fell, cutting open his head.

The 91-year old television personality was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he received stitches for the gash in his head; he also sustained scrapes on his leg, but otherwise, he’s fine, says his publicist Henri Bollinger. Barker will reportedly have to take it easy for a while and alter his schedule a bit.

“He’s upset he can’t work out and take his walks. Considering his age, he’s in pretty good shape,” Bollinger said.

Bob Barker hasn’t been active on television in the last several years, but he’s been busy working with various animal organizations. The philanthropist has been a longtime supporter of animals of all kinds and recently spoke out about the hunter who shot and killed Cecil the lion, telling Entertainment Tonight, “I understand that his patients are lining up to cancel their appointments and well-deserved. If he was my dentist I would never set eyes on him again.”

Barker spoke earlier this year about the American Humane Association, which oversees the treatment of animals on movie and television sets, saying he had been a longtime supporter of the group but was recently made aware of inhumane practices that he couldn’t abide.

“Believe it or not, when I was younger, I was the fair-haired boy of the American Humane Association. They used to do a thing called the PATSY Award — it was like the Academy Awards for animals. I thought it was just wonderful because I assumed the American Humane Association was protecting these creatures. I even had them in my will. But I was suddenly made aware of what they really are, and I have absolutely no respect for the American Humane Association. I think they have failed miserably in their efforts to protect animals in the movie industry, and obviously they have failed miserably in any protection for animals in this food industry,” Barker said.

When asked whether there was anyone in the public eye who might be able to continue his work after he’s gone, Bob Barker said that unfortunately he doesn’t think there is.

Bob Barker Cuts Head in Fall, But He’s Ok

Bob Barker fell and cut his head, but he’s doing fine according to his publicist.

The former Price Is Right host was out for his daily walk when he tripped on uneven pavement, according to publicist Henri Bollinger.

According to reports, two police officers actually saw Barker fall and gave him first aid on the scene.

He suffered a head laceration and a scraped leg – but nothing too serious. He did have to get stitches for the head wound, but she’s already home from the hospital.

Bollinger says the worst part about the fall is that it will most likely disrupt Barker’s daily walks for a little while. Exercise is still a big thing for the 91-year-old Barker.

As are animal rights. He spoke out against mistreatment in zoos and on film sets in a recent interview:

“The animal rights movement is just like huge snowball on a mountain. Americans love their pets, so it’s just a matter of making people aware. They don’t know how other animals are suffering,” Barker told uInterview. “I think zoos should be a thing of the past. They should have animal sanctuaries. The use of animals in movies is just terrible. They have been mistreated for years.”

  • Bob Barker Is A ‘Carefully Selected Fool,’ Makes Appearance On ‘The Price Is Right’

Bob Barker’s return to The Price is Right was the best April Fool’s day prank ever.

The audience went wild when instead of current host Drew Carey, it was the venerable game show host who came out after introductions.

“What a welcome,” a clearly touched Barker exclaimed, adding that “I have never had a welcome like that.”

Barker was asked to host a portion of the April Fools edition of The Price is Right and true to form, jokingly said “I know the world is full of fools, but I am a carefully selected fool.”

Barker started hosting the long running show in 1972 and stayed as its host for 35 years. His departure from the show in 2007 was one of the most emotional moments on television.

Looking extremely fit for a 91-year old, Barker then gave the audience a brief reminder of why he’s so loved. He handled the show’s opening salvo – the classic “Lucky Seven” game – with aplomb and one contestant was lucky enough to drive away with an SUV.

Alas, all good things must come to an end and Barker turned hosting duties back to Carey after the first commercial break.

The game show has a history of pulling April Fools’ Day pranks and this one has got to be among the most memorable. In 2013, the show’s models swapped jobs with Carey and announcer George Gray. And last year, Late Late Show host Craig Ferguson took over hosting duties at The Price is Right.

But despite being away from The Price is Right, Bob Barker has been keeping busy. The host was recently seen squaring off with Adam Sandler as they reignited their Happy Gilmore feud.

In a promo for Comedy Central’s Night of Too Many Stars, Barker is seen in a hospital being visited by Adam Sandler. It doesn’t take long for the two to trade insults and come to blows.

But whether it’s hosting The Price is Right again or going toe to toe with Happy Gilmore, Bob Barker remains classy and witty as ever.

  • Bob Barker And Adam Sandler Continue “Happy Gilmore” Battle For Charity

Bob Barker and Adam Sandler are at it again.

To the delight of everyone on the planet, Bob Barker and Adam Sandler got together to continue the incredibly funny fight that started in Happy Gilmore.

But this time, they’re not just doing it for laughs, they’re doing it for charity.

Bob Barker and Adam Sandler filmed the continuation of their epic battle for Comedy Central’s Night of Too Many Stars.

The TV special’s purpose is to raise money and awareness for autism.

    Take a look:

In the beginning, it looks like Adam Sandler and Bob Barker are in the midst of calling a truce. However, that feeling doesn’t last very long.

After insulting Adam Sandler’s weight and age, Bob Barker springs from the bed when insults escalate to blows.

Then, Bob Barker dumps his bedpan all over Adam Sandler, prompting Sandler to cry, “How much f**king asparagus did you eat?!”

    So hilarious!

Then, obviously and dramatically labeled vials of Ebola enter the mix. Bob Barker dumps a vial in his mouth and spits it all over Sandler.

Bob Barker quips, “I wish I could see David Spade’s face when he finds out there won’t be a Grown Ups 3.”

After Bob Barker and Adam Sandler both die from Ebola, the battle continues on top of a fluffy cloud with both of them wearing gowns, wings, and carrying harps.

Night of Too Many Stars will feature tons of comedic talent, including Louis C.K., John Oliver, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Maya Rudolph, Jon Stewart, Jim Gaffigan, Sarah Silverman, Steve Buscemi, Steve Carell and many more.

    Happy Birthday, Sandman!

  • Bob Barker to Appear on “The Bold and the Beautiful”

Bob Barker to Appear on “The Bold and the Beautiful”

Bob Barker is known as the former television host of the popular game show The Price is Right. The 90-year-old is also known as an animal activist who ended every show with his trademark sendoff, “Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered.” But did you know that Barker also appeared on the daytime soap The Bold and the Beautiful in 2002? And he plans on doing it again.

Barker, who will be appearing as himself in a cameo, is set to be on the CBS soap starting April 30 for three episodes. The story arc will center around animal rescue. Additionally, animal trainer Brandon McMillan from the CBS show Lucky Dog and Los Angeles Councilman Bernard Parks will also appear with Barker.

In one of the episodes, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) interviews Barker about animal control. One of Barker’s lines for the interview is reportedly, “Animals can’t speak for themselves, they depend on us to protect them.”

Barker hosted The Price is Right for 35 years until Drew Carey took over in 2007. The television veteran recently made a special guest appearance on the game show on December 12 in order to celebrate his 90th birthday.

The Bold and the Beautiful is still one of the most popular daytime television soaps. The Los Angeles based program made its debut on March 23, 1987.

  • Sea Shepherd’s Return From 10th Anti-Whaling Campaign

Established in 1977, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization.

From SSCS website: “Our mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world’s oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.”

Sea Shepherd protects more than whales, their campaigns include saving dolphins, bluefin tuna, sharks, seals, sea lions and reefs in their efforts to prevent extinction and inhumane treatment to those life forms that exist in our world’s oceans.

Their latest campaign, known as “Operation Relentless,” was one of their most successful to date in their efforts to save the minke whales that migrate to the southern ocean near Antarctica.

“Sea Shepherd is proud to announce that the Japanese whaling fleet has left the waters of the Antarctic Treaty Zone (ATZ), ending whale poaching in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary for this year,” boast the Sea Shepherds.

The SSCS’s ships, the Bob Barker and Steve Erwin, docked in Wellington and Hobart Saturday after 94 days at sea, ending the group’s 10th annual intimidation and harassment campaign of the Japanese harpoon fleet.

Sea Shepherd said this year’s campaign, which began on January 5, had been it’s longest ever in the Southern Ocean.

This is their tenth year in the southern oceans protecting whales, and in that time, their activism has saved approximately 4,500 minke whales. The whales are supposed to be protected from harm in the sanctuary in this part of the world. However, Japanese whalers have ‘broken the rules’ by insisting they are killing whales for research purposes. In reality they are poaching illegally and if not for Sea Shepherd, the numbers of whales killed would have been much higher.

This operation alone was said to have saved over 750 whales, which although sounds like a successful number, the Japanese still managed to kill over 200 whales. And although that seems like a lot, their goal of over 1,000 minke whales was not reached.

The fleet has grown since the first years of anti-whaling campaigns, and now includes the Steve Erwin, the Bob Barker (named after the game show host who financed the ship) and the San Simon. Each ship has a captain and crew that spend months out at sea in extremely severe weather and freezing temps. They fight insurmountable odds with the much better equipped Japanese whaling fleet, and risk their lives every day to save the beloved whales.

Captain Peter Hammarstedt of The Bob Barker said, “The late departure of the whaling fleet is a testament to the fact that they have been delivered a disastrous season by the hand of Sea Shepherd, willing to push into the second week of March despite deteriorating weather conditions rather than face our fleet. Before we started this campaign, we made a promise to our clients, the whales, and to all of our supporters around the world to drive these poachers out of the whales’ waters. We have kept that promise. We are relentless.”

Captain of The Steve Irwin, Siddharth Chakravarty, said, “Using their aggression the poachers ran, but they could not hide from us. This is the longest that the Sea Shepherd Fleet has ever remained in the Southern Ocean, as the whalers desperately tried to make up for profits lost due to Sea Shepherd’s direct intervention. After 94 days at sea, I am honoured to return to port at the helm of The Steve Irwin and am deeply proud to be a part of this organisation, vigilant in our defense of life in our oceans, relentless in our pursuit of justice for the whales.”

  • Price is Right: Sheree Heil Is Biggest Winner Ever

A woman was in shock on Monday after becoming the biggest winner ever on  “The Price is Right”.  Shree Heil, is the new owner of a luxurious Audi R8 V8 Spyder Quattro S Tronic worth $157, 300. She won it while playing  “Gas Money” on the CBS daytime game show. In addition to that, she also won a pair of prada shoes worth $3, 045 as well as $10,000 cash.

Contestants in the Gas Money game are required to eliminate incorrect prices of a featured car and leave a correct price.  Each time an incorrect price is eliminated the contestant gets a cash prize. Contestants can then choose to walk away with cash prize already won or risk it all and continue with the game until all the wrong prices are eliminated. Sheree risked walking away with $8000… and it paid off.

As expected, Sheree was really excited about the victory as she jumped up and down at the show. Sheree currently drives a 2005 Toyota Corolla but will head back home to Tacoma, Washington with a significantly upgraded means of transportation. Sheree now beats the previous daytime record holder, Vickyann Sadowski who won a  $147, 517 in 2006. Though Sheree Heil may have been the biggest winner, all the other contestants won on Monday show as well.

  • Bob Barker Celebrates 90th Birthday On Game Show

Bob Barker, the former host of the long-running game show The Price is Right, returned to the set to celebrate his 90th birthday on Thursday. “You folks appreciate the fact that it has taken me a long time to become 90,” Barker said as he returned to the stage.

While a birthday celebration was in store for Barker, he admitted that he had already started celebrating the night before over a pitcher of margaritas. “I started celebrating last night. I’m going to have a series of celebrations,” Barker told TVGuide.com. “The former producer of The Price Is Right, Roger Dobkowitz, and his wife and the former director of The Price Is Right and his wife took me out last night. We went over to one of our favorite restaurants, Antonio’s Mexican Food,” Barker continued. “We drank a series of margaritas and rehashed the old days. They had a birthday cake for me, a huge cake, and I made a wish. Of course, I can’t share it with you because then I wouldn’t get it, but I blew out all the candles. There was wild applause. Margaritas are right for anything — 90th birthdays or anything else.”

Barker’s return to the show was very emotional, and as he stepped onto the stage, the audience gave him a standing ovation. “The audience gave me a standing ovation,” Barker said. “I had a lump in my throat the first moment I was on the show practically. It was just a thrill, a pleasure. All the people on the show were so nice to me. Some of the people I had worked with, it was a joy to see them. And some of the people with whom I had worked and they had retired or left the show for one reason or another, they came back,” he continued. “And some of the executives from upstairs came down. It was just a homecoming. I expected to enjoy myself, but it was even a nicer day than I had expected.”

    (image)

During a recent interview, Barker was asked what it meant to him to be turning 90. I’m very excited about it because I only have to wait 10 years and then I’ll be 100 years old,” Barker answered. “They’ve already invited me back to The Price Is Right. Drew has invited me back. I’m sure it’ll be on when I become 100.”

It’s official and it’s been confirmed! The legendary “Price is Right” host will be making his way back to the nation’s favorite game show. While his visit is only be temporary, it’ll definitely be a defining moment in game show television history. The iconic episode is scheduled to air on Dec. 12 in honor of Barker’s 90th birthday.

‘The Price is Right’ shared the big announcement with the world via Twitter.

The show also took to Twitter to share details on all of the events that will take place to commemorate Barker’s big birthday week. Pet adoptions will be a big part of the charitable donations that will take place throughout the week.

According to CBS, the decision to offer pet adoptions is one that will hold a great significance to the former game show host, as the cause is ‘dear to Barker’s heart.’ He is an advocate for animal rights, and was named as a spokesperson for “Be Kind to Animals Week” in May 1985. Barker also founded his own charitable foundation, DJ&T in 1994.

The organization contributed millions of dollars to fund animal neutering programs, animal rescue and park facilities all over the country. • Bob Barker Spends $1 Million Relocating Elephants

Who knew the former “Price is Right” host, Bob Barker, had a passion for elephants? Apparently, he spent nearly $1 million to relocate three elephants from the Toronto Zoo in Ontario, Canada, to an elephant sanctuary in San Andreas, California.

“Elephants don’t belong it Canada, it’s too cold,” Barker said. “These three were confined to a barn most of the year, probably as much as 80% of the time, and they were slowly going to die right there in that zoo.”

Elephants, 43-year-old, Toka, 33-year-old, Thika, and 44-year-old Iringa, will now live in a natural habitat that spans 80 acres. They will also be living with three other elephants that have made their home there.

The elephants arrived at the sanctuary Sunday night, and Barker was there awaiting them.

“I had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes when those elephants arrived. I knew their lives were changed forever,” he said. “I stayed over an extra day and saw them come out of their new barn into a big fenced-in area where there’s even a muddle puddle for them to play in. It was wonderful.”

Barker told the Daily News that he wants to spend his money on causes such as this.

“I have a will, and I was allocating money for various groups when I thought, ‘Why should I do this? Why not give it away now so I can see it in action and enjoy it?’” he said. “The people in charge of these various places, they’re so grateful. I had a wonderful time earning this money, and I’m having just as much fun, if not more, giving it away. I plan to die broke.”

  • Bob Barker Pays For Elephants’ New Home

Bob Barker Pays For Elephants’ New Home

Bob Barker has long been an active voice in the fight for animal rights, and he’s spent the past couple of years lobbying for three Canadian elephants to be moved to a new home at a sanctuary. Now, the animals have been moved, and it couldn’t have been done without his help.

Barker, 89, says he doesn’t believe that animals as large as elephants belong at a zoo, where they are confined to such small spaces. After finding out that African elephants Iringa, Thika and Toka were living at the Toronto Zoo, Barker began his quest for a new home for them and worked out an agreement with the Toronto City Council to get them moved. They agreed, but the former game show host would end up shelling out nearly $1 million of his own money to get it done. Perhaps a small price, considering what he accomplished.

“It was more than emotional for me, for all of us,” Barker said. “I had tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. It’s hard to believe they are finally here.”

The journey took four days using special transports, and now the elephants are free to wander around 2,000 acres of land in Calaveras County along with several other animals who were transferred from zoos or the circus.

Barker has said that he intends to help as many animals and charities as he can after a long and successful career on “The Price Is Right” left him with a cushioned retirement fund.

“I had a job that I loved… I was very well paid for it, and now I’m spending my money,” Barker said. “I intend to die broke.”

  • Price Is Right: Male Model Chosen From 3 Finalists

“The Price Is Right” has announced its first male model in the show’s 40-year history, a man who competed with two other finalists to earn the title.

Rob Wilson proved he had what it takes by competing in challenges, such as writing and singing lyrics to the show’s theme song (what that has to do with modeling, I’m not quite sure) and changing costumes (there, that’s better); the challenges were streamed on the show’s website, with hundreds of men being narrowed down to 26, until finally only three were left standing. The winner was chosen by viewer votes, with Wilson coming out ahead.

Curiously, he’ll only be given the job for one week–starting October 15th–before the show reverts back to the old sexy-ladies format. It’s still being hosted by comedian Drew Carey.

The show made headlines earlier this year when former host Bob Barker spoke out against producers for not including him in their 40th anniversary celebration, saying there was bad blood over what he feels is a lack of sensitivity on their part towards animal rights.

“I am ashamed of the show and surprised at their complete disregard for the welfare of animals,” he said. “Were I still there, a prize to attend the Calgary Stampede would never have been considered. We never did anything that condoned animal cruelty. Apparently, things have changed.”

  • Bob Barker is “Ashamed” of “The Price Is Right”

Bob Barker says the producers of “The Price Is Right” ignored him when it came time to put together a 40th anniversary show, but he’s taking it rather well.

Barker, who hosted the insanely popular television game show for 35 years, just handed the title over to Drew Carey in 2007. Yet for some reason, the decision-makers thought it prudent to leave Barker out of the anniversary special. The reason? Barker thinks it’s because he spoke out several times against the show for giving away prizes to organizations like Sea World and Calgary Stampede, which he says are “notorious for animal abuse”.

The former show host has been an animal rights activist for years and did manage to get the show’s producers to make small changes during his tenure, such as halting the giveaway of fur and leather coats. However, he hasn’t been shy about voicing his opinion on how things have been run since he left, which might have contributed to the exclusion.

“I don’t know why I wasn’t asked to take part in some way,” Barker said. “But I do know I am ashamed of the show and surprised at their complete disregard for the welfare of animals. Were I still there, a prize to attend the Calgary Stampede would never have been considered. We never did anything that condoned animal cruelty. Apparently, things have changed.”

Barker’s strong opinions on organizations like Calgary Stampede and Sea World–which he says are “notorious” for animal cruelty–have led to some clarifications on both parts. The Calgary Stampede says it “works with the Calgary Humane Society and the Alberta Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to ensure its animals receive proper care”, while Sea World insists that every animal in their care is “content and healthy”.

Although Barker was shown in several clips on the anniversary special–which aired last night–he was not asked to participate, and Drew Carey hosted the show. Barker says he’s fine with the decision, but chose not to watch it.
