  • Tara Reid Majorly Dissed by Elizabeth Banks

Tara Reid was dissed in a big way by Pitch Perfect 2 director Elizabeth Banks during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter earlier this week. And while it wasn’t the nicest thing for the Hunger Games star to say–she did so without missing a beat.

Banks was talking about catching her big break, back in her early days of acting. The 41-year-clearly caught it, and is now making her foray into directing, too.

“There was a group of us girls coming up,” Banks told The Hollywood Reporter. “A lot of us are surviving. Some of us are not. I used to go to auditions with Tara Reid. So, you know, we didn’t all make it. We’re not all still here.”

Then she topped off her Tara Reid diss with, “I do love Sharknado.”

    Ouch.

    And ouch again.

Tara Reid is about to star in Sharknado 3, where another actress who never hit it big like Elizabeth Banks, is set to play her mother. Bo Derek of 10 fame–and only 10 fame–is now destined to end her acting days in a Sharknado movie.

On the upside, Tara Reid just learned the ‘art of doing a cameo’ in a class with Stan Lee. Might that thrust her into the ranks of actors like Elizabeth Banks?

Tara Reid hasn’t yet publicly commented on Elizabeth Banks’s diss. It’s pretty unlikely that she will. After all, what could she possibly say aside from the fact that the comment was rude?

    It was, sadly, spot on.

Are you a Tara Reid fan? Will you be catching Sharknado 3 this summer? Or are you more inclined to check out Elizabeth Banks in her directorial role when Pitch Perfect 2 hits theaters next month?

  • Bo Derek Blows Talent Curve in Sharknado 3

Bo Derek’s film career has not always been the most consistent thing. She will forever be known as the hot body with braids running through the surf in the movie 10. But that was back in 1979 and only her second role. Since then, Bo Derek has managed to accumulate a total of only 33 credits, including one in Tommy Boy with Chris Farley where, as Farley joked, she looked a lot like her character from 10, and two others where she is credited as herself.

If Bo Derek’s career does not display depth — or even width — it is certainly not guilty of being unrecognizable. And it is her iconic name and look that the producers of Sharknado 3 are hoping to trade on by casting her in the latest installment of the SyFy annual throwdown.

Bo Derek is slated to play May, the mother of April, played in all the installments by Tara Reid. Reid and Ian Ziering, who regularly plays Fin, have seen their careers brought back from the dead by the Sharknado series of movies.

Bo Derek joins other confirmed guest stars such as Jerry Springer, Chris Kirkpatrick from ‘N Sync, and wrestler Chris Jericho.

Another big name joining Bo Derek in the annual SyFy tradition of ridiculousness is billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban. Perhaps there is a Shark Tank/Sharknado connection they are aiming for. In this round, Cuban will play none other than the President of the United States.

“I’m doing it,” Cuban told Fox Sports recently. “Why not? It’ll be fun.”

Cuban pops up from time to time, doing commercials and other spots. In addition to his Shark Tank residency, Cuban once did a turn on the dance floor in Dancing with the Stars.

What has garnered more press than perhaps any other guest star announcement for Sharknado 3 is who would be playing Cuban’s vice president. Joining the billionaire as he runs the shark-plagued nation is none other than conservative political pundit Ann Counter.

Anthony C. Ferrante, who has directed all the Sharknado installments, will return to direct the newest one.

  • Bo Derek to Play Tara Reid’s Mom in ‘Sharknado 3’

Bo Derek has signed on to play the role of May, the mother of Tara Reid’s character April, in the upcoming SyFy production of Sharknado 3. Tara Reid and Celebrity Apprentice contestant Ian Ziering have the Sharknado movies to thank for putting bread on their tables.

In addition to Bo Derek, other celebrities (?) have signed on to play roles in Sharknado 3, including billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban, Ann Coulter, Jerry Springer, ‘NSync’s Chris Kirkpatrick, and Chris Jericho.

Sharknado 3 must have some kind of draw to land the Shark Tank star and political commentator.

Bo Derek is, of course, best know for her role in the 1979 film 10, and her signature cornrow braids she sported while running in her bikini across a sandy beach. 10 also starred Dudley Moore, Julie Andrews, and Robert Webber.

Jerry Springer must have missed the memo titled ‘Spoiler Alert’ when he signed on to play in Sharknado 3.

Will you be checking out Bo Derek and the rest of the ‘star-studded’ cast of Sharknado 3 when it appears on SyFy this coming summer?

Do you think we’ve seen the end of the list of cast members or will a few A-listers also sign on?

  • Bo Derek Will Be Tara Reid’s Mom. Because Sometimes Apples Fall Far.

Bo Derek, most famous as the perfect braided bod in 10, which she later kinda-sorta nodded to in Tommy Boy with Chris Farley, is now on board for Sharknado 3 on SyFy.

Bo Derek is slated to play May, the mother of April — I’m not making this up — who is, of course, played in all the installments by Tara Reid. Reid and actor Ian Ziering, who plays Fin, have sen their careers — or at least headline recognition — revived by the Sharknado series of movies.

Bo Derek joins other confirmed guest stars such as Jerry Springer, who plays a nutjob tourist; Chris Kirkpatrick from ‘N Sync, who plays a pool lifeguard; and Chris Jericho, who plays a roller-coaster ride operator.

Another big name joining Bo Derek in the annual SyFy tradition of ridiculousness is billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban. In this round, Cuban will play none other than the President of the United States.

“I’m doing it,” Cuban told Fox Sports recently. “Why not? It’ll be fun.”

Cuban is not afraid to let it all hang out there. In addition to his Shark Tank residency, Cuban once did a turn on the dance floor in Dancing with the Stars.

But another big surprise was who would be playing Cuban’s vice-president. Joining the magnate as he runs the shark-plagued nation is none other than conservative political pundit Ann Counter.

    Let the jokes begin.

Anthony C. Ferrante, who has directed all the Sharknado installments, will return to direct the newest one.
