  • Sen. Bernie Sanders Wants to Subpoena Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz

Sen. Bernie Sanders Wants to Subpoena Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz

Senator Bernie Sanders has some tough questions for Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz and wants to subpoena him to get the answers.

Starbucks has been under growing scrutiny for its anti-union efforts against Workers United. In the US, companies are strictly regulated regarding how they interact with unions and are prohibited from interfering with organizing efforts.

Senator Sanders believes Starbucks has crossed that line and wants to question Schultz about, according to a tweet he sent Wednesday:

Unfortunately, Howard Schultz has given us no choice, but to subpoena him. A multi-billion dollar corporation like Starbucks cannot continue to break federal labor law with impunity. The time has come to hold Starbucks and Mr. Schultz accountable.

    Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders), March 1, 2023

Sanders cites the 75 complaints the National Labor Relations Board has brought against Starbucks:

“While Howard Schultz is a multi-billionaire who runs a very profitable multi-national corporation, he must understand that he and his company are not above the law,” Sanders said. “The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has filed over 75 complaints against Starbuck for violating federal labor law and there have been over 500 unfair labor practice charges lodged against his company. These violations include the illegal firing of more than a dozen Starbucks workers. For nearly a year, I and many of my colleagues in the Senate have repeatedly asked Mr. Schultz to respect the constitutional right of workers at Starbucks to form a union and to stop violating federal labor laws. Mr. Schultz has failed to respond to those requests. He has denied meeting and document requests, skirted congressional oversight attempts, and refused to answer any of the serious questions we have asked. Unfortunately, Mr. Schultz has given us no choice, but to subpoena him. A multi-billion dollar corporation like Starbucks cannot continue to break federal labor law with impunity. The time has come to hold Starbucks and Mr. Schultz accountable.”

Sanders plans on calling a vote next week of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) on whether to subpoena Schultz.

  • Senators Ask the FTC to Investigate Microsoft’s Activision Acquisition

Senators Ask the FTC to Investigate Microsoft’s Activision Acquisition

US Senators are asking the Federal Trade Commission to investigate the Microsoft/Activision deal, over concerns regarding Activision’s past scandals.

Microsoft announced in January, 2022 that it was purchasing Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion. Microsoft has been buying gaming studios, both for their immediate benefit, as well as their potential to help the company as it competes in the burgeoning metaverse.

One of the major challenges the company faces with the acquisition, however, is Activision’s history of sexual harassment and discrimination. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella addressed this in his comments when the deal was announced, saying: “After the close, we will have significant work to do in order to continue to build a culture where everyone can do their best work.”

Nadella’s assurance is not enough for Senators Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Sheldon Whitehouse, and Cory Booker, however. The four senators have written a letter urging the FTC to take a closer look at the deal, expressly over concerns the merger could undermine employee-led efforts to hold Activision’s leadership accountable. Similarly, it’s believed Activision CEO Bobby Kotick will be leaving following the merger, effectively being given a golden parachute and a way to save face and avoid accountability.

“Workers at Activision Blizzard, following years of rampant sexual misconduct and discrimination and unfair labor practices, have led calls for greater transparency and accountability in the gaming industry, and we are deeply concerned that this acquisition could further disenfranchise these workers and prevent their voices from being heard,” said the senators.

The senators also quoted FTC Chairwoman Khan as recently stating that “robust antitrust enforcement can help ensure that workers have the freedom to seek higher pay and better working conditions, and can help promote economic opportunity and widespread prosperity for all.”

The FTC had already declared its intentions to investigate the merger. With the senators’ additional urging, the agency will likely take an even closer look than it originally planned.

  • Louis C.K., Actor and Comedian, Tells Fans Not to Vote for Donald Trump

Louis C.K. urged his fans and followers in an email on Saturday morning not to cast their votes for Donald Trump.

It was while announcing the upcoming sixth episode of his web series, Horace and Pete, that Louis C.K. turned political–in a rather lengthy P.S.

“Please stop it with voting for Trump. It was funny for a little while. But the guy is Hitler,” it reads. “And by that I mean that we are being Germany in the 30s. Do you think they saw the shit coming? Hitler was just some hilarious and refreshing dude with a weird comb over who would say anything at all.”

Louis C.K. went on to say he likes both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, however he isn’t endorsing either candidate.

“And I’m not advocating for Hillary or Bernie. I like them both but frankly I wish the next president was a conservative only because we had Obama for eight years and we need balance. And not because I particularly enjoy the conservative agenda,” he continues. “I just think the government should reflect the people,” adding, “A good smart conservative to face the liberal candidate so they can have a good argument and the country can decide which way to go this time.”

Louis C.K. then proceeded to critique Donald Trump.

“Trump is not your best. He’s the worst of all of us,” he tells conservative voters, while also assuring them that he’s “not saying vote democrat.”

“He’s a symptom to a problem that is very real,” he writes. “But don’t vote for your own cancer. You’re better than that.”

Do you expect if any of Louis C.K.’s fans were planning to–or already have–vote for Donald Trump that his email would prevent them from doing so?

How long might it be before Trump supporters watch his do a botched impersonation of Louis C.K.?

The actor and comedian went on to say he likes both Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton, although he’s not soliciting votes for either.

What’s your take on Louis C.K.’s warning about Donald Trump? It’s kind of scary when comedians get serious about what’s happening in the political arena–don’t you think?

  • “Bernie Baby,” Four-Month-Old Bernie Sanders Lookalike, Dies of SIDS

“Bernie Baby,” the four-month-old baby dressed up to resemble Bernie Sanders at a political rally, died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) on February 25.

Oliver Jack Carter Lomas-Davis was Bernie Baby. His aunt confirmed his passing in an interview with the Associated Press.

Bernie Baby quickly became an internet sensation when photos of him wearing a messy white wig and black rimmed glasses were shared online. He met Bernie Sanders at a rally in Los Angeles.

Michael Briggs, a spokesman for Bernie Sanders, learned of Bernie Baby’s passing and said the campaign planned to issue a statement.

    “It’s very sad,” Briggs added.

Bernie Baby’s funeral is planned for Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Church of the Hills.

Everyone who met or viewed pictures of Bernie Baby no doubt experienced joy at the sight of the baby boy. His family and others who knew him are surely experiencing unspeakable grief in light of his untimely passing.

  • Bill Clinton: Petition Calls For Arrest And Prosecution Of Bill For Polling Violation

Bill Clinton is in some hot, well at least warm, water for violating a Massachusetts state voting law that prohibits campaigning for or against a candidate and passing out materials within 150 feet of a polling place.

Bill Clinton and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh went inside a polling place in West Roxbury on Super Tuesday. They shook hands, took photos and even used a megaphone at one point to urge voters in the direction of Hillary.

Now, Bernie Sanders supporters are angry with Bill Clinton.

A petition quickly appeared online, which had over 100,000 signatures as of Friday, calling for Bill Clinton‘s arrest and prosecution for the violation.

The petition read in part, “This is a call for the immediate arrest of President Bill Clinton for clear, knowing and egregious violation of the campaign laws to swing an election in a significant way.”

It continued, “Choosing the critical battleground state of Massachusetts, Bill Clinton should immediately be subject to arrest and prosecution.”

A photo posted by Hillary Clinton (@hillaryclinton) on

On Friday, the link to the petition leads (suspiciously, just sayin’) to an error message stating that the server is “misbehaving”.

However, should the petition gain 100,000 more signatures, it may not be successful.

For one thing, the petition is aimed at the wrong person. It is addressed to Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, but she doesn’t handle voting violations. Those are handled by the Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin’s office.

Also, the fine is only $20. I think Bill Clinton can afford to get himself off the hook.

But, for petitioners, it is likely the principal at hand that is of utmost importance.

Bernie Sanders lost Massachusetts to Hillary Clinton and many of those voters could have been swayed by Bill Clinton’s celebrity presence.

What do you think about the call for Bill Clinton’s arrest and prosecution?

  • Susan Sarandon Says Many In Hollywood Support Bernie Sanders, But Are “Afraid To Come Out”

Susan Sarandon is tired of celebrities, who are Bernie Sanders supporters, not using the platforms they’ve been given to throw some love his way.

An avid advocate for Sanders, Susan Sarandon is hoping that some others will come out in support of the underdog candidate.

Susan Sarandon said, “You know, there’s a lot of people I’ve talked to who are afraid.”

Susan Sarandon says there are many a Bernie-backer who she knows will “say ‘I am definitely supporting him, but I’m afraid to come out’ because either ‘I am woman and I don’t want to get shamed’ — because that has been a big part of what the response has been — or they say, ‘I am just waiting to see what happens.’”

She continued, “I understand [celebrities] who say they are waiting because you put yourself out there for [interviews] like this. And people, especially if you’re a woman, are making it very, very difficult.”

The main reason Susan Sarandon wants Hollywood to stand up for Bernie Sanders has to do with Donald Trump‘s popularity.

Susan Sarandon, and a large chunk of American citizens on both sides of the party line, believes that Trump is the absolute wrong candidate to put in office.

In fact, Susan Sarandon calls the election process that we are now enduring a “circus” and blames the media. She also stressed the permanent nature of the decision.

She said, “The press is responsible for making Trump who he is. I don’t know why. Things have just not stuck on him, and I blame a lot of the circus that was created by the press and not treated seriously for allowing him to get as far as he has. We’re just not reporting in-depth, responsible, grown-up kind of journalism.”

Lightweight losing candidate Mitt Romney asks about my tax returns. I have a store that is worth more than him.

A photo posted by Donald J. Trump (@realdonaldtrump) on

She added, “So it’s taken people a while to educate themselves. For being such a powerful country, we need to be better informed and more responsible in how we go about choosing candidates. It’s not a reality TV show. No one is going to be voted off this island once it happens.”

What do you think about Susan Sarandon’s comments on the silence of Hollywood on Bernie Sanders?

  • Gloria Steinem Apologizes for Comment She Made About Young Women Backing Bernie Sanders

Gloria Steinem made a rather controversial comment to Bill Maher on Friday, indicating that young women voters are backing Bernie Sanders so they can meet “boys.” She made the comment when Maher asked her why such a huge number of younger women aren’t supportive of Hillary Clinton.

“Women get more radical as we get older,” she said. “Men tend to get more conservative because they gain power as they age, and women get more radical because they lose power as they age. When you’re young, you’re thinking, ‘Where are the boys?’ The boys are with Bernie.”

After coming under considerable fire for the comment and its inference, Gloria Steinem issued an apology via Facebook on Sunday.

In a case of talk-show Interruptus, I misspoke on the Bill Maher show recently, and apologize for what's been…

Posted by Gloria Steinem on Sunday, February 7, 2016

Apology or not, people aren’t impressed with Gloria Steinem’s statement.

Might Gloria Steinem have inadvertently driven even more young women voters away from Hillary Clinton with her callous remark?

What do you suppose Hillary Clinton is thinking right now about Gloria Steinem’s comment? Does she have some clean up to do in her wake?

  • Susan Sarandon Calls Bernie Sanders “Untainted,” Calls Hillary Clinton a “Follower”

Susan Sarandon is stumping for Bernie Sanders in Iowa this week, insisting he’s the only choice for Americans. The actress and liberal activist has spent lots of time explaining how Hillary Clinton lost her support.

“The biggest foreign decision that had to be made in terms of foreign policy was whether or not to go into Iraq and go into war, and she failed that test,” she said of Clinton in an interview with the Daily Mail.

Hillary Clinton went on to be secretary of state, “but what has she done that we’re bragging about? How has she led?” Susan Sarandon asked.

Sarandon was a bit teary-eyed as she introduced Bernie Sanders to a crowd of more than 1000 people in Mason City, Iowa on Wednesday evening.

“I’ve come here because for me gender is not what’s important. Issues are what’s important,” she told the crowd. “I want a candidate who has the courage to stand and do the right thing when it was not popular.”

“It’s one thing to be for gay rights and gay marriage once everybody else is for it. That’s not difficult,” Susan Sarandon added, referring to Hillary Clinton.

“If you want to know how people are going to react and where they really stand, you have to look at who’s giving them their money,” she said. “The fact that he has managed to consistently be on the right side of every issue the correct side of every issue that reflects my concerns, and he has done it without being connected to Wall Street, big pharm, Monsanto, Goldman Sachs.”

“When you have the other candidate taking money from Goldman Sachs, speaking to Goldman Sachs, getting a lot of money from Monsanto, I think it’s really naive to believe that that’s not going to have some kind of influence over policy,” she said of Mrs. Clinton.

When asked to talk more about her gay rights comments, Susan Sarandon explained that yes, Hillary Clinton has come around to supporting gay rights, but she wasn’t there in the beginning.

“She was not, and that’s a matter of record, and yes, she has come around,” she said, “but my point is, it’s great that she came around, but wouldn’t it be great to be a leader instead of a follower, especially if you’re going to hold the highest office in the land?”

Susan Sarandon shared with several media outlets how inspired she is when surrounding by Bernie Sanders’ volunteers.

“I got emotional just being with them. It’s really fun and they’re very well informed …They’re a thinking people, they don’t listen to the sound bites,” she said.

Susan Sarandon announced her support of Bernie Sanders in a Facebook post in June.

We need a leader who is courageous and levelheaded in times of crisis: Bernie Sanders #Bernie2016

Posted by Susan Sarandon on Friday, June 5, 2015

She cites his October 2002 vote on the Senate floor, against the Iraq war, as one of the main reasons for backing him.

“I need somebody with judgment and not just experience,” she says.

Do you see Susan Sarandon as a strong voice in gaining votes for Bernie Sanders? Might her comments turn voters away from Hillary Clinton?

Does the actress have that kind of pull in the political arena?

  • Donald Trump Could Spend $2 Mil Per Week On Campaign Ads

Donald Trump laid out a pretty fair amount of change for his campaign ad budget, and according to the New York Post, he hasn’t used any of it so far. That’ll change in the coming months, sources say, to the tune of about $2 million a week.

Trump reportedly set aside $25 million for his ad budget, which will be spent showing the country how focused he is on particular issues. Mudslinging isn’t on the agenda…unless someone attacks him first.

“If you attack Trump, he will attack you 10 times as hard. We will not allow any attack to go unanswered,” an adviser said.

It’s been rumored that Donald Trump may use personal funds for his campaign, although that hasn’t been confirmed.

Despite making many controversial statements in recent months, Trump has enjoyed a 20% lead in national polls and has appealed to the middle class workers of America with his views on the state of the workforce and wages. He has also made it clear that his views on immigration are tied to his plan for creating more jobs for American citizens and says he would cut taxes for everyone.

Trump’s approval rating may take a hit, however, as he has been in a feud with just about every other presidential candidate and takes to social media to battle it out, which is seen as unfavorable by many voters. He also continues to receive negative write-ups in the media, such as a recent one by Joseph W. McQuaid of the New Hampshire Union Leader.

“An insult to the intelligence of Republican voters. Trump has shown himself to be a crude blowhard with no clear political philosophy and no deeper understanding of the important and serious role of President of the United States than one of the goons he lets rough up protesters in his crowds.”

  • Caitlyn Jenner Receives Barbara Walters’ Top Honor, Walters Rocks Leather Pants at 86

Caitlyn Jenner was named Barbara Walters’ Most Fascinating Person of 2015. Walters hailed the former Bruce Jenner as a “symbol of hope for the transgender community.” She made the announcement on her annual 10 Most Fascinating People special that aired last week.

“Our choice for the most fascinating person of the year was once called the world’s greatest athlete,” Walters, who is 86, began. “Traditionally that title was given to the man who won the Olympic decathlon. When Bruce Jenner won it in 1976, it was a huge accomplishment that had everybody talking. But it was nothing like this. When Bruce Jenner became Caitlyn Jenner, there was a seismic shift in the gender universe.”

Her “celebrity has helped launch a national discussion about transgender rights,” Walters explained as video highlights from Caitlyn’s year appeared on the screen. “She has become a champion for the transgender community, raising awareness and advocating for acceptance.”

“Famous and familiar, she raised awareness and acceptance of transgendered people,” she continued. “Through her own transformation, Caitlyn Jenner transformed society this year, and that, for us, makes her the most fascinating person of 2015.”

Caitlyn Jenner topped a list of nine additional “fascinating people,” including Amy Schumer, Misty Copeland, Bradley Cooper, Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Ronda Rousey, Donna Karan, and Tracy Morgan.

Not everyone was thrilled about Caitlyn Jenner’s top spot on Barbara Walters’ list. Equally as disturbing to some were the black leather pants the 86-year-old wore on the show.

The leather pants were different, that’s for sure, but Barbara Walters managed to pull the look off with grace–even with countless viewers likely doing a double take and asking, “Is Barbara Walters wearing leather pants?”

What’s your take on Caitlyn Jenner topping Barbara Walters’ annual list?

And what did you think of Babs rocking those leather pants?

  • Martin O’Malley, Bernie Sanders Seriously Question Weekend Debates

Democratic presidential hopefuls Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders are seriously questioning the feasibility of debates that are held on weekends. The third Democratic debate is scheduled for tonight, Saturday December 19, and these men know people won’t tune in the way they probably would were it scheduled for a weeknight.

It’s not just Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders who are questioning these weekend debates. Many have criticized the Democratic National Committee’s scheduling process.

It seems there’s been much discussion about these weekend debates, with Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders pushing for more opportunities to publicly challenge Hillary Clinton. The DNC scheduled six–three of which are on tap for weekends.

Of all the Democratic candidates, Martin O’Malley has been the most vocal about this situation. He first complained about tonight’s debate back in August.

“They’ve scheduled it during shopping season, December 19th,” Mr. he said. “I don’t know why that is. I think it’s out of a false sense that they have to circle the wagons around the inevitable front-runner.”

Martin O’Malley’s campaign said that by avoiding prime-time debate slots, the DNC is “protecting” Hillary Clinton. A spokesperson for Bernie Sanders’ campaign says they’ve had no input on scheduling debates, but they are hoping for more discussion among the candidates on the issue.

“We’re playing the hand we were dealt,” Michael Briggs, a Bernie Sanders campaign spokesman, said. “I guess Christmas Eve was booked.”

Hillary Clinton’s campaign didn’t respond to a request for comment from the New York Times. Are you surprised?

Does this sound like an attempt on behalf of the Democratic National Committee to hand-pick their candidate for the presidential race?

It definitely sounds like Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders have a legitimate complaint.

Will you be tuning in tonight to see the Democratic debate, or are there things like Christmas shopping or holiday parties on your Saturday evening schedule instead?

  • Amy Schumer Makes Barbara Walters’ 2015 Most Fascinating People List

Amy Schumer has definitely had a fulfilling year. She’s ending it with quite an honor, too. When Barbara Walters announced her list of 2015’s Most Fascinating People, Schumer made the cut.

In addition to her comedy sketches that are raunchy but hilarious, Amy Schumer hit the big screen this year with Trainwreck. She is working on a new screenplay with BFF Jennifer Lawrence.

Entertainers know they’ve made the grade when asked to host SNL. Yes, Amy Schumer did that in 2015, too.

In recent days, Schumer has made news for posing nearly nude–wearing nothing but undies and a pair of heels–for the 2016 Pirelli calendar. Annie Liebovitz created the masterpiece.

Just today–in the aftermath of Wednesday’s deadly massacre in San Bernardino, California, Amy Schumer posted a series of Tweets against gun violence.

Yes, there’s way more to Amy Schumer than just her often-vile tongue. Barbara Walters clearly recognizes that, and surely others do, too.

In addition to Amy Schumer, fellow SNL alum Tracy Morgan also made the list of 2015’s Most Fascinating People, as did ballet dancer Misty Copeland, UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, actor Bradley Cooper, fashion designer Donna Karan, and presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders.

Are you surprised Amy Schumer made the list?

  • Ronda Rousey Is Feeling the Bern

Ronda Rousey Is Feeling the Bern

Ronda Rousey is known for kicking people’s asses inside the Octagon. So, who does she think would make the most kick-ass President?

It looks like Rousey is feelin’ the bern.

“I’m voting for Bernie Sanders, because he doesn’t take any corporate money,” Rousey told Maxim in a recent interview. “I don’t think politicians should be allowed to take money for their campaigns from outside interests.”

So, what happening if Bernie loses the Democratic primary? Rousey isn’t going to settle for Hillary Clinton, apparently.

“If he doesn’t win against Hillary, then I’ll probably vote for a third party again. To be honest, in 2012 I was against both candidates and so I just picked any third party because I thought if more people voted for third parties then they’d have to take third parties seriously.”

Rousey told Maxim that she actually voted with Roseanne Barr in 2012.

We’re pretty sure there’s no way Rousey would ever consider casting a ballot for Donald Trump. After Trump suggested that she “liked him” in an interview, Rousey responded with a resounding no way.

“I mean, I wouldn’t vote for him,” she told CNN. “I just really wouldn’t trust the guy with running my country, that’s all. I’m not really going to get into specifics of it, but, I mean, I don’t want a reality TV star to be running my country.”

  • Demi Lovato Performs “Stone Cold” on “SNL” Amidst Tracy Morgan’s Return, Larry David’s Bernie Sanders

Demi Lovato wowed fans in the SNL audience this weekend with her performance of “Stone Cold.” Just one of seven songs the “Cool for the Summer” singer co-wrote for her new album, “Confident,” Demi Lovato was a hot topic come Sunday morning for her Saturday Night Live appearance.

“The reaction has been incredible,” Lovato said in an interview with Vanity Fair on Sunday. “I’m just honored I was able to convey the emotion of the song.”

Demi Lovato appears in the November issue of Vanity Fair both nude and sans any makeup. She is a big promoter of a healthy body image, and serves as a great example to women of all ages.

This weekend’s episode of SNL was a very special one. In addition to Demi Lovato’s performances, Tracy Morgan served as the night’s host. Appearing on the show for the first time since his limo was involved in a fatal accident en route from Delaware to New York 16 months ago, the comic thrilled not only those in the audience, but everyone on stage as well.

If you missed the show this weekend, you not only missed Tracy Morgan and Demi Lovato, but also missed a hilarious Bernie Sanders impression done by Larry David.

Did you catch this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live? What was your favorite part of the show? Was it Demi Lovato’s performances? How about Tracy Morgan’s triumphant return? Even Bernie Sanders found Larry David’s impersonation hilarious.

  • Jimmy Fallon Brings Jay Leno Back to “The Tonight Show” for Surprise Appearance

Jimmy Fallon surprised his audience, as well as viewers at home, on Tuesday night when he brought Jay Leno back to The Tonight Show.

Fallon started the show as usual–easing into his monologue. Then he suffered an injury.

“I think I pulled a hammie on that one. I don’t think I can continue,” Jimmy Fallon said. “I think I’m going to have to sub out. Can someone tag in for me please?”

That’s when Jay Leno took the stage to an abundance of loud applause. He took over the monologue, immediately launching into several one-liners about presidential candidates.

“You know, a lot of people think that when the Republican feud begins to clear, it’ll be between Jeb Bush and Donald Trump–kind of like the race between the tortoise and the bad ‘hair.’”

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders got their fair share of time during the monologue, too.

Jimmy Fallon rejoined Jay Leno on stage when he started mocking the state of the economy.

“(The economy) is so bad even the Kardashians are losing their ass!” Jay Leno cracked.

“The economy is so bad Hillary Clinton wants people to look through her deleted e-mails to see if there’s anything from that Nigerian prince,” Jimmy Fallon added.

Did you catch Jay Leno when he appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night? Did it make you wish Jay was back at the helm or have you become a bona fide Jimmy Fallon fan since Leno left The Tonight Show?

  • Joe Biden Aides Say He’s Likely to Join 2016 Presidential Race

Joe Biden aides have spoken volumes in recent days–with their actions more so than with their words, however. A new report claims they have contacted Democratic donors and supporters to discuss the timing of an announcement–one that puts Joe Biden in the 2016 presidential race.

On Monday, Vice-President Joe Biden met with political advisors, and discussed jumping into the 2016 campaign in time to make the Democratic debate, scheduled for October 13. They are said to be perfecting his campaign message and hiring campaign staff.

Of course it’s still entirely possible that Biden will opt out at the 11th hour, as he is still feeling the emotional trauma of having lost his son, Beau Biden, to cancer in May.

If Joe Biden enters the race, it will be timed perfectly with Hillary Clinton’s plan to reassure her supporters that probes into her use of a personal email server while she was Secretary of State won’t throw her candidacy off track. The controversy hasn’t served Hillary well, and has instead boosted Bernie Sanders in the Democratic polls.

There are only four Democratic debates scheduled before the February 1 Iowa caucuses. If Joe Biden is throwing his hat into the proverbial ring, he will likely either do it before that first October debate, or not do it at all.

Hillary Clinton is set to appear before the Republican-controlled House committee on October 22, and testify on the Benghazi attack in 2012 that killed four Americans. It is likely she will be questioned about use of the personal email server at that time, too. Her statements on October 22 could serve to enhance Joe Biden’s candidacy, should he choose to run.

Do you agree with recent chatter on behalf of Joe Biden’s aides that the vice-president is likely to join the 2016 race? Will he wait until after the October 13th debate or pass up the national TV opportunity, relying instead of his position as VP to keep him in the public eye?

How do you expect Joe Biden’s entrance will impact Hillary Clinton’s campaign?

  • Bernie Sanders Tried to Live-Tweet the GOP Debate and Gave Up

Democratic Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders watched Wednesday night’s Republican debate – well, most of it.

With just over a half an hour left to go in the three-hour broadcast, Sanders gave up and went home.

    Maybe he went for tacos?

While he could still stand to watch, the candidate had plenty to say.

For those not attuned to the right-wing philosophy, the debate was strenuous – to say the least. For those in that camp, the debate was still three freaking hours long. Either way, it was a difficult watch.

It must’ve been torture for Bernie.

  • Daniel Craig Allegedly ‘Duped Into Political Donation’ Supporting Bernie Sanders

Daniel Craig offered financial support for Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders – but it appears he may have been “dubbed.”

According to Variety, the Spectre star donated almost $47,000 in July to Americans Socially United, which previously went by the names “Ready for Bernie Sanders 2016” and “Bet on Bernie 2016,” but concerns have been raised about the super PAC’s legitimacy.

The Center for Public Integrity has revealed doubts about their integrity and that of its founder Cary Lee Peterson.

The report calls out Cary Lee Peterson on issues, including outstanding warrants in Arizona and money owed to creditors.

In the meantime, legal counsel for Sanders’ campaign sent Peterson a cease and desist letter asking him to drop the earlier names, make clear that he was not speaking for Sanders, and make his financial records available.

In a statement to Variety, Daniel Craig explained his donation and future plans.

“I made a donation to this organisation in good faith as I understood it to support Senator Sanders’ candidancy. Currently, I have been informed of no evidence to question that my donation has not been used as intended. Should that situation occur, then clearly, I will review my position.”

Speaking to the Center for Public Integrity, Peterson insisted he set up the PAC because of he believes “in the cause.”

Peterson said the group has already spent more than $1 million on field organisers, billboards and materials supporting Sanders.

Peterson told Time magazine that getting support from Daniel Craig is “pretty cool,” but Craig seems to have been unaware of the organization’s background.
