  • USA vs. Spain: American Team Walks Away with an Exhibition Victory

USA vs. Spain: Although both basketball teams are considered to be the best in the world at the moment, Team USA walked away with the victory during an exhibition game on Tuesday. The final score: 100-78. However, the real showdown between the two titans will take place on August 12th, which, of course, will be played for the gold medal.

During the game, Carmelo Anthony scored 27 points, 23 of which took place during the first half. LeBron James, meanwhile, managed to snag an impressive 25 points, while Kevin Durant scored 13. “It was a good test for us tonight, but the exhibition games are over, the friendlies are over and we look forward to the real challenge of going to London,” James explained.

The importance of this particular match wasn’t lost on Team USA’s players. “We knew that this was a big game,” US guard Chris Paul told the Associated Press. ”When Coach K talked to us, he told us this was probably the biggest game here in Barcelona since the `92 team was here, so we approached it like that and it was a good win for us.”

Although the Spain’s players explained they fully intended to give it their all during the game, they did state that preparing for the London games was much more important than bringing home an exhibition win. Paul Gasol, who scored 19 points during the game, claimed that his team could have done better against their American opponents.

“We made too many mistakes which they capitalized and they played their game,” he said. “They’re a quick unit, very athletic and once they were able to convert a few fast-break opportunities due to our turnovers, it was hard for us.”

Spain wasn’t the only team that learned some valuable lessons during the match. Although Kobe Bryant feels Team USA’s chances of bringing home the gold is very good, he admitted that playing against both Argentina and Spain helped them iron out some wrinkles in their strategy.

“I think it showed us some things that we want to do differently, some things that we’re doing right, and I think because of it we feel pretty good about our chances,” Bryant said.

  • Jason Kidd Going From The Basketball Court To DUI Court

Jason Kidd is one of the best NBA players around with an 18 year career to back it up. That comes with a lot of pressure which can lead to some bad decision making. Kidd might have made a very bad decision over the weekend.

Reuters is reporting that Kidd was involved in an automobile accident after his car struck a telephone pole in New York’s Long Island. Police arrested Kidd under suspicion that he may have been driving under the influence. He has since pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The accident occurred at 2 a.m. after Kidd slammed into the telephone pole and then went into the woods. The police statement said they found Kidd in a 2010 Cadillac Escalade. Kidd’s lawyer won’t go into details on the minor injuries that he suffered. The court date is set for September.

Kidd recently signed with the New York Knicks after helping his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, take the NBA Championship in the 2010-2011 season. He has been named an all-star 10 times to date and will probably earn a few more before he retires.

Here’s Kidd right after the Dallas Mavericks won the 2011 NBA Championship:

  • Middle-School Principal Charged in Locker Room Recording

A principal charged with encouraging her daughter to secretly videotape conversations inside a high school locker room could face up to 20 years in prison and a $20,000 if convicted of the crime. Wendee Long, principal of Wayside Middle School in Fort Worth, Texas, turned herself over to authorities on Monday. She was soon released after posting a $25,000 bond, according to MSNBC.

The charges stem from Long’s suggestion that her daughter hide a cell phone in a locker room during an away game to record the actions of her basketball coach, who is rumored to be excessively hard on the team. Although Long’s daughter was in the room at the time of the alleged recording, the incident is still considered to be the same as wiretapping. In addition to the investigation by Forth Worth authorities, school officials intend to look into the incident, as well.

Although such recordings are considered illegal, the principal’s attorney seemed to be genuinely shocked by the charged levied against Long. “Wendee and I are both surprised and disappointed at the actions of the Denton County Grand Jury last week,” Long’s lawyer said in a statement on Tuesday. “Wendee maintains, and I agree, that she has not violated any law. We do not believe anything has taken place that should involve the justice system. However, now that we find ourselves in the system we are confident that Wendee will be cleared of any wrong doing.”

Given that Long has been the principal at Wayside Middle School for over five years, you’d think she would realize this sort of behavior would reflect negatively on her as both a mother and a school official. The fact that she seems to stand behind her actions is a little peculiar, particularly when she’s had plenty of experience working behind-the-scenes within the public school system. I’m definitely curious to see how this story unfolds.

  • Luol Deng, Chicago Bulls Forward, Joins Great Britain’s Olympic Team

Luol Deng, the professional basketball star who currently plays for the Chicago Bulls, is the only NBA baller to join Great Britain’s Olympic Team, according to Sports Illustrated. Although two other British-born players — Ben Gordon and Byron Mullens of the Charlotte Hornets — were expected to suit up alongside Deng this July, both men have opted out for various reasons. SI reports that Gordon failed to show up at the training camp in Houston by the scheduled deadline, while Mullens is currently recovering from an injury.

The squad, which also features Kieron Achara, Robert Archibald, Eric Boateng, Dan Clark, Luol Deng, Joel Freeland, Kyle Johnson, Andrew Lawrence, Mike Lenzly, Pops Mensah-Bonsu, Nate Reinking, and Andrew Sullivan, is particularly excited about the experience, as they’re members of the first basketball team to represent Britain at the Summer Olympics since 1948.

Deng, meanwhile, is particularly jazzed about the experience, and plans to make the country proud. “We have all worked very hard for this opportunity and to have the final 12 named is exciting,” Deng explained during a recent interview. “The next few weeks will fly by and I can’t wait to step on the court with my team-mates at the Games.”

The hotly-anticipated 2012 Summer Olympics begins on July 27th. Britain’s men’s basketball team is currently scheduled to play their first game on July 29th, though their first opponent has yet to be announced as of this writing.

If you’ve curious to read what folks on Twitter are saying about Deng’s contribution to the Olympic games, you can find a small assortment of Twitter reactions in the space provided below. From what I can gather, apparently a lot of people didn’t know he was British.

  • Pat Cummings, Former NBA Star, Dead at 55

Pat Cummings, the forward/center who would lace-up with the Dallas Mavericks, the New York Knicks, and the Miami Heat, was found dead at a Greenwich Village apartment in New York on Tuesday afternoon. He was 55. The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Cummings was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania in July of 1956. After being drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks as a junior-eligible in 1978, Cummings would finally hit the court with the team in 1979. However, after three seasons, the 6-foot-9 player found himself being traded to the Dallas Mavericks for a pair of draft choices. Cummings soon became the franchise’s starting center, averaging 12.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

Although the 1984-85 season saw Cummings achieving the highest scoring average of his career, the foot problems he’d been experiencing forced him to undergo surgery to remove bone spurs from his right ankle. Sadly, Pat would never be quite the same. He bounced between several teams before bidding farewell to the NBA in 1990. After a playing a few years with the Continental Basketball Association, Cummings bowed out of the game completely in 1993.

When all was said and done, he’d accrued 6,259 points, 3,825 rebounds, and 807 assists during his career. His death has not gone unnoticed amongst those who love every single aspect of the game. A handful of Twitter reactions to Cummings’ passing can be found below.

  • Kris Humphries Lands a New Woman: Twitter Reacts

Kris Humphries, NBA star and ex-husband to television personality/reality star Kim Kardashian, may not be ready to admit that he’s dating again, but it would appear that TMZ is anxious to get the conversation rolling. According to the website, Humphries has been seeing someone since mid-January, contrary to what the professional basketball player has stated to the media. Keeping this sort of thing a secret is admittedly difficult when TMZ is on the case.

Humphries latest squeeze is 25 year-old Fatmire Sinanaj (aka Myla), a woman Kris was spotted on a beach with not too long ago. Although he claims that the girl was a “neighbor” he’d just recently met, a little detective work ultimately revealed the truth. In reality, Myla allegedly hopped a plane from New York City to Miami to spend the weekend with her new beau. So much for keeping their relationship a secret.

In addition to their weekend getaway, Humphries has provided Myla and her family with court-side basketball tickets, which, generally speaking, isn’t something you do for a neighbor you just randomly met on a beach. Of course, none of this is anybody’s business, so if Kris wants to officially keep his new relationship off the books, that’s his decision to make. TMZ, however, may hound him endlessly until he comes clean.

What have Twitter users thought of the new relationship? You can see for yourself if you take a moment to properly investigate the posts embedded below.

  • NBA Star Deshawn Stevenson Has a Working ATM in His Kitchen

I don’t know about you, but my kitchen is pretty basic: Oversized microwave from the mid-80’s, stove with one burner that doesn’t work, a refrigerator that’s probably older than I am — you know, typical working-class appliances stuffed into a space that’s dedicated to the preparation and consumption of mass quantities. Then again, I’m not an NBA player with more money than I know what to do with, so it’s understandable that my kitchen isn’t quite up to superstar status.

Such is the case of Brooklyn Nets player Deshawn Stevenson, who has a working ATM in his home. And not just any old ATM, mind you. No, this is a real ATM that’s stocked with $20,000 in cold, hard cash. Stevenson, who says that the ATM is there for his friends who need a little scratch before a night on the town, has the machine refilled four to six times a year. However, here’s the kicker: the ATM actually charges a service fee, so if you think you’re getting a free ride at Deshawn’s place, you’d better think again, pal. I don’t care who you are or how you roll, but $4.50 per transaction is pretty steep.

Truthfully, I think the machine is kind of cool. Not something that I would ever want to own, but seriously cool, nonetheless. Have a look at the picture of Deshawn and his ATM below.

  • Orlando Woolridge, Former NBA Star, Dead at 52

Orlando Woolridge, former NBA star and considered by many to be one of the most gifted dunkers to grace the court, passed away at his parents’ house in Mansfield, Louisiana. According to the Shreveport Times, Woolridge had been suffering from a chronic heart condition, one that ultimately claimed his life. He was 52.

Woolridge, who quickly made a name for himself playing ball for Mansfield High School and, mostly notably, Notre Dame, was selected sixth in the NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls in 1981. After spending five years there, he moved on to the New Jersey Nets. Unfortunately, after playing a handful of games during the 87-88 season, Woolridge was suspended for violating the substance abuse policy.

After spending some time with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Denver Nuggets, the Detroit Pistons, and Milwaukee Bucks, Woolridge ended his NBA career at the Philadelphia 76ers in 1994. From there, Orlando took a trip to Italy, where he played professionally for Benetton Treviso (1994-95) and Buckler Bologna (1995-96).

Upon returning to America, Woolridge switched gears a bit, coaching the WNBA team the Los Angeles Sparks from 1998 to 1999. The new millenium found Orlando turning his attention to the American Basketball Association, where he spent a few years coaching the Houston Takers (2007-2008) and the Arizona Rhinos (2008-2009).

Unfortunately, Woolridge made headlines this February when he was arrested for stealing more than $2,000 worth of aluminum water lines.

Twitter users have ventured to the micro-blogging site to discuss Woolridge’s passing. You can have a look at a few of their responses below.

  • Patrick Ewing to Interview with the Bobcats Next Week

Patrick Ewing’s rumored interview with the Charlotte Bobcats for the head coach position is scheduled to go down next week, according to the Associated Press. However, Ewing is one of several individuals who are interested in filling the vacancy, so there’s no guarantee that the Hall of Famer will be working his magic on the team next year. No pun intended.

An source speaking anonymously told AP that a handful of people have already interviewed for the job, including Golden State assistant coach Michael Malone and Bobcats assistant Stephen Silas, the latter of whom is the son of exiting coach Paul Silas. Additionally, the Bobcats are also interested in speaking with Indiana assistant Brian Shaw, Cleveland assistant Nate Tibbetts, and St. John’s assistant Mike Dunlap.

The Charlotte Bobcats finished out this season with the worst winning percentage in NBA history. When everything was said and done, this year’s record was 7-59. If Ewing does snag the position, he’s going to have his work cut out for him.

There’s been a lot of negative chatter on Twitter about Ewing’s interview with the Bobcats. You can read a selection of these thoughts and feelings below.

  • UK Wildcat Fans Watch & Celebrate 8th National Championship [Exclusive Video]

It’s been two days since the University of Kentucky Wildcats won their 8th national championship, and it’s starting to sink in around the state. If you know any UK fans, most likely they’re already donning apparel in celebration of the victory. If you’re really hardcore, you won’t take the shirt off until they win another.

Ali Ord of WebProNews went down to ground zero, capturing the event as thousands of fans poured into bars and houses to watch their Cats bring home the trophy.

The game has been well documented on WPN, starting with UPS stupidly backing Duke in their advertising campaign; much to the chagrin of UK fans (most UK fans can tell you where they were during the Laettner shot).

Reliving old, bitter memories didn’t stop the UK juggernaut from beating their in-state rival, U of L, which led to the first Project LeX riot. The event forced University of Kentucky president, Dr. Eli Capilouto, to implore students to behave responsibly and celebrate safely.

The message didn’t take, however; once the final buzzer sounded, thousands of fans took to the streets in Lexington. All of the chaos helped create one of the greatest Twitter trends to appear in 2012 – #LexingtonPoliceScanner.

Those who were jealous of UK’s victory, which is most of the college basketball watching world that doesn’t wear UK blue & white, tried to downplay the championship victory by saying it would be vacated soon anyway. Which is a concept I’ve never fully understood. Are you going to mind-wipe thousands upon thousands of fans and make them forget who won?

Kansas had to feel defeat on two fronts, as they were beaten for the title and were ousted in terms of Twitter presence. Oh well, Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk, next year maybe.

  • #LexingtonPoliceScanner Provides Best Post Game Entertainment Ever

Unless you’ve lived in Lexington, KY for an extended period of time then you just can’t understand what UK basketball means to the fans in the state. When you’re born here, most likely you come into the world with UK blue pumping in your veins. There are 80 year old grandma-fans who will school you on what to do against a matchup-zone, and will tell you the leading scorer of UK’s team in 1971. Without looking it up.

Last night, the fervor of fans came to a head when the team won its 8th national championship. What happened next, however, is where the story truly begins…

The clock ticked zero, and a majority of UK’s campus became flooded with intoxicated fans who just couldn’t hold in their jubilation/insanity and took to the streets of Lexington. No one living in the city was surprised by what occurred last night, as a miniature version of it happened just two nights prior. However, if you took part in the leading Twitter topic that was #LexingtonPoliceScanner, you almost couldn’t believe what you heard…

    (image)

During the entirety of my listening to the police scanner, which was buzzing with traffic last night, I overheard these gems:

“Just let the small fires burn out”

    “They’re breaking a tree”

“There’s a female wearing blue, bleeding from the leg”

“Hold your traffic, we have a garage on fire”

“She says her boyfriend is breaking things in the house. Male. White. Wearing a UK shirt”

“We’ve got a flash mob, everyone saying they’re going to shoot everybody”

“Just let them shoot their fireworks, aslong as they aren’t at anybody”

I wasn’t alone in listening, as I was enjoying it with 10,000+ who were all basking in the greatness of the event. Which if you were listening was 2 parts ridiculousness, and 1 part hilarity. If you need proof of the entertainment value, here’s what people had to say about the event.

The night wasn’t all negative, as you can see one of the riot officers taking time to celebrate in the glory of UK’s 8th ‘ship. Which is an aspect of the riots many people missed; that a lot of the police officers on the scene were UK fans.

(It should be noted that this photo may have been taken Saturday night after the Louisville game, but does it really matter?)

There were so many angles of the #LexingtonPoliceScanner, but I believe my favorite was the dispatch officer, who was a 2am Twitter celebrity last night. Highlighting her voice, which I have to say didn’t sound as if couches and cars were on fire…

It would be a shame if I came out of last night not having learned anything. During the course of the evening you heard the officers mention “code 1”, which instinctively led me to Google. Code 1 stands for arrest, which if you were keeping up with the scanner; there were plenty of code 1’s.

While this has all been good fun, there are many who are disappointed and ashamed of the events that occurred last night. To these people I would say – there are morons everywhere. When you mix the invincible, drunk mindset of a college student with moronity, things like this happen.

For those like me, it was a night of laughing at the ridiculous, and being able to say that the small city of Lexington became – ProjectLeX for just one night.

  • Bobby Knight Refuses to Say ‘Kentucky’

Bobby Knight refused to call the Kentucky Wildcats by their name on ESPN segments over the weekend. The former Indiana coach, instead, said “that team from the SEC,” when asked who was most likely to be upset this weekend.

The topic is gaining widespread media attention, being featured in an article on USA Today.

Many are saying that it’s one thing to cheer for a team you used to coach, but it’s something else to openly disrespect the opposition, especially when you’re not a coach, you’re an ESPN sports analyst.

But the famed coach is no stranger to garnering media attention for his erratic behavior:

Knight does not hide his hatred of the the Wildcats or Coach Calipari.

Even after hearing Knight’s criticism, John Calipari has nothing but respect for the coach.

In a speech in Wabash, Indiana, he claims that Kentucky players don’t even go to class. At the time, Kentucky had the second highest GPA in the SEC.

The rules of non-bias in sports commentary seem to not apply to Bobby Knight. He has played by his own rules since he was a coach. When throwing chairs and choking players becomes the norm, you can’t really expect common courtesy to enter into the picture.

  • Anthony Davis Earns USBWA Player of the Year

University of Kentucky’s Anthony Davis has been selected to receive the U.S. Basketball Writers Association National Player of the Year.

Davis is the only player from the University of Kentucky to win the award, and only the second in the SEC to win it. “Pistol” Pete Marovich won the award twice while at LSU.

The Oscar Robertson Trophy, will be presented by Oscar Robertson at the annual College Basketball Awards Breakfast before the Final Four on Friday, March 30.

Davis was chosen from a field of ten finalists based on regular season performance.

During the regular season he averaged 14.3 points, 10.1 rebounds and shot 63.6 percent from the field, scoring double doubles in 18 of the 36 games he played.

He is most noted for his dominance around the rim, chalking up 166 blocks this season, double that of the previous single season record. Kentucky could set the team all time record for blocked shots this year, largely on the back of Davis. They are within 3 going into the next game.

He has already been named first team All-American, District IV Player of the Year, and National Freshman of the Year by the USBWA. He is the SEC Player of the Year and SEC Defensive Player of the Year, being named SEC Player if the Week twice and SEC Freshman of the Week four times.

He led the Kentucky Wildcats to a 34-2 season, going 16-0 in regular season SEC play. Kentucky was the Number 1 overall seed going into the NCAA Tournament, and they continue their quest for the Final Four against Indian on Friday.

USBWA President Lenox Rawlings has this to say about the talented Freshman, “Anthony Davis made an immediate and dramatic impact on college basketball. He has many skills, most obvious among them his ability to block and alter shots. Davis’ dominance inside solidified Kentucky as a national title contender and brought Bill Russell back into the dialogue, shining light on the vital half of the game that people often ignore.”

Davis is in contention to receive The Naismith College Player of the Year award, the most coveted MVP award in college basketball. He would be the first player from the storied University of Kentucky basketball program, and the first freshman to win the award.

  • Lehigh Upset By Xavier In Sweet 16

Lehigh Upset By Xavier In Sweet 16

In what is being touted as one of the biggest upsets in NCAA history, Lehigh swept their game against Duke–who had been second-seeded–last week only to lose it all on Sunday to Xavier.

The team looked good in the first half, but gave up their lead to the Musketeers after center Kenny Frease scored five straight points in the second half. The Musketeers went on to win 70-58 despite playing without their third-leading scorer, Dezmine Wells, who injured his right ankle in the first half and was out for the rest of the game.

Lehigh managed to take the loss gracefully, despite being so close to victory only to feel it slip through their fingers.

“It has been really exciting ups and downs, going from beating Duke and barely getting any sleep and then being obviously very disappointed in the way we performed,” junior forward Gabe Knutson said. “Having a chance at the Sweet 16, being that close, that’s a lot of motivation to work that much harder to get there [next year].”

  • Syracuse vs. UNC Asheville: Early Twitter Reaction

We’re underway in Pittsburgh as Syracuse and UNC Asheville has tipped off. Early on it seems that the Bulldogs of UNC Asheville aren’t scared by the No. 1 that is beside the Syracuse name, as they’re hitting almost every shot their jacking up.

Could this be the day where we see a No. 16 FINALLY defeat a No. 1 seed? I guess we’ll see… here is some early Twitter reaction to the game though.

  • Kansas State vs. Southern Miss: March Madness 2012 Round 2 Game

The Kansas State Wildcats earned a No.8 seed in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, after going 21-10 in the Big 12. They’ll be taking on No. 9 seed Southern Miss. Golden Eagles, who went 25-8 in C-USA. It should be noted that the Wildcats were the only team to defeat Big-12 Champion, and No. 2 seed in the West Region, Missouri twice this year.

The Golden Eagles a tough team who embody their coach Larry Eustachy, who had a good career at Iowa St. before falling victim to alcohol addiction. Eustachy is sober now and has his team in the NCAA tournament ready to prove to everyone that he still has what it takes to coach at a high level. One could say that this is a job interview for a higher profile job for the coach.

  • President Obama & David Cameron Together Tuesday For NCAA Tournament

President Obama had a full day of activities planned for Tuesday that involved students in Washington, D. C. and Dayton, Ohio. First, Obama met with young scientist finalists in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington. The high school students are 2012 Intel Science Talent Search finalists. The young student finalists are participating in a competition for scholarships and awards all week in the Capitol city.

The Intel Science Talent Search is the nation’s most prestigious science research competition for high school seniors. Prior to 1998 when the competition was sponsored by Intel, it started in 1942 as a partnership with Westinghouse. The competition has provided a national stage for the country’s best and brightest young scientists to present original research to nationally recognized professional scientists.

Afternoon plans for the President were for he and David Cameron, the British Prime Minister to head to the University of Dayton Arena in Dayton, Ohio aboard Air Force One and attend a game at the first round of the NCAA tournament. The President and the Prime Minister caught the Western Kentucky and Mississippi Valley State game. It was the first hoops contest for Cameron giving President Obama the opportunity to share a few pointers.

Obama opens welcoming remarks by saying he introduced Cameron to “bracketology” at NCAA game and the PM wants to “install a hoop” back home(image) 2 hours ago via web ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

  • Fab Melo, Syracuse Center To Miss NCAA Tournament

With the NCAA tournament starting Thursday, many teams are beginning the push for the Final Four. However Syracuse got some terrible news today as starting center, Fab Melo has been ruled ineligible. Below is a tweet from the Syracuse athletic Department.

The Syracuse Athletic Department stated: “Given University policy and federal student privacy laws, no further details can be provided at this time.”

Syracuse was granted the top seed in the East Region in the NCAA Tournament, and were slated to play Thursday at 3:10 PM in Pittsburgh against UNC-Asheville. It’ll be interesting to see how Melo’s absence impacts the team as he was averaging 25.4 minutes, 5.8 rebounds, 2.9 blocks, and 7.8 points per game.

  • NBA All-Star Game Impresses Twitter

The NBA All-Star game just ended, and the West beat the East 152 – 149. I didn’t watch it, but judging from the conversation going around Twitter, it was a hell of game. Some are already talking about watching it again.

Here’s a small sampling of what’s being said:

  • Jeremy Lin’s Game-Winner Keeps Linsanity Going Strong

Apparently, last night was supposed to be the beginning of the end of Linsanity as New York Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni reintroduced Amare Stoudemire to the starting lineup. The thinking is once these established players made their way back to the Knicks’ rotation, it would cut down on Lin’s touches and attempts from the field.

Perhaps this fear resides more with the upcoming return of Carmelo Anthony, but there were some rumblings of disrupting the chemistry the Knicks suddenly discovered as soon as Lin’s meteoric rise up the NBA trends chart began. After winning his first four games as the Knicks starting point guard and becoming the new hot trend in relation to sports — move over Tim Tebow, football is done for the time being. The Jeremy Lin trend has been well-documented in a number of publications, culminating in a Will Leitch love note to the white-hot Lin.

So how did Lin respond with the reintroduction of Stoudemire — a player who demands the basketball — into the starting lineup? By winning the game with a 3-point shot as the clock was winding down. If you’re a SportsCenter viewer, you’ve no doubt seen the highlight by now, but there’s nothing wrong with reliving it again:

Down goes Toronto, thanks the Lin’s 3-bomb. As is the case whenever something trendy happens, Twitter again exploded; and, in fact, the trend is still quite active this morning, as the Twitter love for Lin is indeed strong:

Floyd Mayweather thinks Jeremy Lin is overrated, which is funny because Jeremy Lin has managed to be undefeated without ducking anybody. 1 day ago via web ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

D’antoni’s post was retweed over 10,000 times. Of course, considering the bomb he dropped on Floyd Mayweather, these rebroadcasts were well deserved. If you’re unsure of the Mayweather backstory concerning Lin, read more here. Apparently, jealousy rules, even in the multi-million dollar world of sports. As for the Lin love, it’s ongoing over at Twitter:

    Some doubters, however, remain:

I want to see what Jeremy Lin does against a real point guard before I start believing. The Rose, Rondo & CP3’s of the game. 1 hour ago via Seesmic ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

I actually agree with this sentiment to a degree. If you take out the Lakers win (against a Lakers team that was playing the final game of a six-game east coast road trip), the combined winning record of the teams Jeremy Lin the Knicks have beaten since Lin took the stage is 58-87. While Lin does deserve the praise he’s getting, I’m curious to see how he does against the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls, especially once Derrick Rose’s back gets healthy.

In light of that, here’s a humorous tweet that directly connects Lin to the world of ebusiness, courtesy of the Winkelvi:

  • David Cross on ‘Chip-Wrecked’, Official No Pants Subway Video, and GOALOLOLOLOLOL

A viral video is one that becomes popular through the process of Internet sharing, via social media, sharing sites, or good ‘ole email. Everyday we highlight some of the best that are currently viral and some that are trending that way.

Today’s videos feature Link from Legend of Zelda trying to pawn his tri-force, a wonderful James Dean tribute, a really angry college basketball coach, and a hilarious soccer goal.

Upon first viewing you might not have noticed anything strange about this post-game celebration. However, listen to John Elway at the 0:33 mark. I’ve listened at least ten times, and I think he’s saying exactly what it sounds like. HA.

Along with being a pretty down to earth sounding dude, Seth Green looks to have some clairvoyant powers. Who else would have called this back in 1999?

Come on Link, go get the other pieces and MAYBE you’ll have something of worth. Also, does anyone else find cheap “bald” make-up effects as amusing as I do?

Some pretty nice seats, the best part of the video is one of the guys’ names is Chris Smokes. So you never will get seats this good or have an awesome name like that.

David Cross is a pretty funny guy and has been attached to some well made projects throughout the years. Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked will most assuredly not be one of them. He seems to have loathed the experience so much his interview with Conan gets kind of uncomfortable.

The No Pants Subway ride is a pretty nifty idea and they received a really good turn out for it, shown in this official video. However, I think most of us agree Santa should probably always wear pants (skip to 0:46 for the view).

If you know the history and work of James Dean you’ll enjoy the video, if you don’t know about him then you’ll enjoy the video and want to go learn more.

Two Friendly Ghosts from Parker Ellerman on Vimeo.

This video is great for two reasons. First, it’s always funny to see an awkwardly made soccer goal. Second, hearing soccer announcers yell GOALOLOLOL is one of the more cathartic experiences you’re bound to have.

Seeing sports coaches go crazy is always great entertainment. Especially in college basketball, there’s just something so personal about it. This Iowa coach did it exactly like the angry college basketball coach forefather Bobby Knight did it…slamming a chair.

If you don’t like Kevin Hart then I probably don’t want to know you. (Warning NSFW: language)
