  • Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake Celebrate Her Birthday in Barbados

Jessica Biel was in Barbados for her 32nd birthday celebration, thanks to hubby Justin Timberlake. The two enjoyed some fun in the sun that included a $1,125 per day catamaran for both wake boarding and sun bathing.

Jessica and Justin actually kicked off her birthday celebration in Miami at The Forge restaurant before heading to Barbados.

“The two came in through the main door of the restaurant [around 9 p.m.], and they went directly downstairs to the wine cellar, which is private,” a source said. They were accompanied by Justin Timberlake’s parents.

“They looked happy and comfortable.” Biel was served an Italian wedding cake, the source added, “because it’s [her] favorite.”

Justin sang a few bars of “Happy Birthday” to his beautiful wife of 17 months, according to the same source.

Jessica Biel’s birthday celebration was sort of like the calm before the storm. The actress is in the middle of opening what is dubbed a “family friendly” restaurant in Santa Monica. Called Au Fudge, the place is deemed the type of restaurant where Hollywood celebrities will feel comfortable bringing their kids. Parents and their children will also be able to take part in creating some of the food they eat–making for a very special and unique experience for families.

Biel shared word of her exciting new venture via Twitter recently.

Little Mary Camden of 7th Heaven fame has certainly come a long way in the past few years. She’s gone from starring in a Christian family series on TV to being a big time film star and marrying Justin Timberlake to top it all off.

Who wouldn’t want to be Jessica Biel these days? Her life is certainly anything but ordinary.

How wonderful that she and her hubby enjoyed a Barbados getaway in honor of her birthday.

  • Jessica Biel and Hubby Celebrate in Barbados

Rumor mill be damned! Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel look happy and in love on a recent trip to Barbados.

Filled with swimming, wakeboarding, and kicking back on a boat, this mini vacay was in celebration of the actress’ 32nd birthday.

The pair reportedly stayed at a villa near the Sandy Lane resort, and Timberlake chartered the catamaran “Seaduced” for sunbathing, relaxing, and wakeboarding. Just in case you were thinking about renting the same boat, be prepared to pay $1,125 a day.

Timberlake has been busy with his 20/20 Experience Tour, but was able to take quick break to treat his wife to a tropical birthday getaway. The nine-time Grammy winner will start the international portion of the tour on March 30, beginning with a sold-out performance at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, UK.

For her part, Biel is set to star in Shiva and May, a film directed by Diane Bell. She has also been busy promoting her new kid-friendly restaurant, Au Fudge. Located in Santa Monica, Ca., the eatery will feature food suitable for all ages, as well as cooking activities.

In addition to being a celebratory trip, the getaway is also seen as a sign the pair is stronger than ever. Biel and Timberlake have faced their share of negative press, mostly involving their marriage. The last time the couple was photographed together was in November of 2013, and Biel recently attended the Oscars alone. From the looks of the photographs, however, it seems as though the Timberlakes are happy and still in love.

To continue the birthday celebration, the day after their boat trip, the couple played a round of golf and ate a romantic dinner by the ocean.

  • Earthquake Shakes Barbados And Martinique

    Earthquake Shakes Barbados And Martinique

A magnitude 6.5 earthquake shook the Caribbean island of Barbados early Tuesday morning. It was also felt on the nearby island of Martinique.

Barbados Police Constable Chris Greg said that the earthquake was felt all over the island. “It was strong,” he said.

The U.S. Geological Survey said that the earthquake hit at a depth of 17 kilometers (10.5 miles) at approximately 5:27 am. The survey also said that the quake was centered nearly 106 miles northeast of Bathsheba, Barbados, and 125 miles east of Le Francois, Martinique.

55-year-old security supervisor Dennis Connell said that he was just waking up when he felt the earthquake, and at first didn’t realize what it was. “I felt like the place was spinning,” he said. “I thought I was going sick.”

Judy Thomas, the director of Barbados’ Emergency Management Department said that the earthquake didn’t last long, but was felt by thousands across the islands. “We’re advising people to go about their business as usual,” she explained.

So far, no injuries or any structural damages have been reported. However, Valerie Clouard, the director of Martinique’s Volcanic and Seismic Observatory, warned citizens that there is a chance of possible aftershocks throughout the day.

The last earthquake to hit the eastern Caribbean islands was in 2007 when a magnitude-7.4 quake hit northwest of Martinique’s coastline. Severe property damage was reported, during that quake.

  • Cameron Diaz: Did She Sound Too Much Like Rihanna in The Counselor?

Rumors are circulating that Fox executives asked Cameron Diaz to re-record some of her lines in The Counselor because her character sounded too much like Rihanna.

Rihanna was born in St. Michael, Barbados and grew up in Bridgetown. According to SlashFilm blog, Diaz’ character Malkina was scripted as being from Argentina.

Softening Diaz’ accent wasn’t enough to save The Counselor, though. The movie hit theaters on October 25 to mostly negative reviews and unimpressive box office numbers. It brought in only $18 million in its first two weeks, a number that seems paltry when compared to the $25 million it cost to make it.

A few other things The Counselor had going for it:

    • Its writer: Cormac McCarthy wrote the script for The Counselor, and the work represented his first original screenplay. Movie adaptations of the Pulitzer-winning author’s The Road and No Country for Old Men saw considerably more critical and commercial success.
    • Its director: Admittedly, Ridley Scott has directed a few flops in his day. But with movies like Alien, Black Hawk Down, Gladiator, and Thelma and Louise to his name, no one can deny that Scott is a talented director.
    • A star-studded cast: Besides Diaz, The Counselor starred Michael Fassbender, Penélope Cruz, Javier Bardem and Brad Pitt.

Diaz received mixed reviews for her performance in The Counselor, but hopefully the good ones will make her feel a little better about being asked to fix the accent she originally performed.

Variety said Diaz was “by far the most committed” to her character, and Bad Ass Digest claims she gave “the biggest performance of all.”

In other news, Diaz joined the ranks of celebrities on Twitter today. She already has over 100,000 followers.
