  • Dwayne Johnson Totally Got You All With That Broken Finger Prank

Dwayne Johnson may be a heavily-muscled action star with a formidable glare, but that doesn’t mean he’s all business.

The wrestler/actor took to Instagram this week to show off an “injury” he sustained while filming Central Intelligence, giving fans a peek at a stomach-churning broken finger that stuck out at an angle from his hand and made us all throw up in our mouths a little bit.

“My director Rawson Thurber ran up to me — we had a little accident — and asked, ‘Are you bleeding?’ I said, ‘Bleed?’ ain’t got time to bleed,” Johnson says in the short video clip.

Turns out, he’s got plenty of time to play a prank on everyone, because that finger wasn’t real.

I ain't got time to bleed..

Most fans of Johnson’s will know by now that he doesn’t take himself too seriously, but it’s always a treat to see a huge movie star taking time out of his day to be completely silly. Johnson often takes to social media to make his fans laugh or inspire them with short clips of his insane workouts, and sometimes he’ll share stories of meeting a random fan on the street with a story about why he’s their hero.

Dwayne has a pretty busy schedule; when he’s not getting up before dawn to work on those muscles or filming a movie, he’s on the set of his hit HBO show Ballers, which just got renewed for a second season.

“The charismatic and hugely talented Dwayne Johnson, along with the rest of the ‘Ballers’ cast, has truly struck a chord with the HBO audience. We are thrilled with the overwhelming response the series has received and look forward to another exciting season,” said HBO president Michael Lombardo.

  • Dwayne Johnson Giddy Over Letter from Steven Spielberg

Dwayne Johnson–a.k.a. The Rock–has no doubt been blown away by many facets of excitement in the course of his 43 years. After all, he’s been a professional wrestler and a film star. Now he’s a TV star as well, with his new HBO series called Ballers.

None of these things quite compare, however, to a letter Dwayne Johnson received a few weeks ago. That letter was from Steven Spielberg.

In the cover story of Esquire magazine’s August issue, Dwayne Johnson talks about the contents of that letter.

“About three weeks ago, I’m here at the house and I get a letter. ‘Been enjoying your movies over the years. Very entertaining. I feel like I’ve really gotten to know you over the years, most recently after watching you host Saturday Night Live. Great job. You continue to go for it. Proud of your work and look forward to meeting you. Steven Spielberg,’” Johnson told the magazine. “It took me back to being just like a kid. I was so blown away.”

The San Andreas star was so excited when he received the letter that he posted a photo of himself reading it to his Instagram account.

“Grinnin’ now like a big ass kid,” he captioned the shot, adding, “THANK YOU STEVEN SPIELBERG for these inspiring and motivating words in your letter and cheers to making sure I’m always listening to that little voice in my gut.”

It’s got to be quite a thrill to cross from the wrestling world into that of acting. In fact, Dwayne Johnson talks about that in his Esquire interview, too. Just imagine making that huge a transition and then receiving kudos from Steven Spielberg.

No wonder Dwayne Johnson was grinning.

    He might be grinning still.

  • Ballers, The Brink Series Premieres Now Available on Facebook

Facebook is trying its damnedest to catch up to YouTube when it comes to being a video powerhouse, and it’s gaining ground. Now, the company has made a high-profile partnership with HBO to get more people watching video on the site.

In an exclusive deal, Facebook users are now able to watch the series premieres of two HBO shows – Ballers and The Brink.

The first episode of Ballers is available to watch, in its entirety, on The Rock’s Facebook page. He posted it just three hours ago and it’s already approaching 50,000 views.

The first episode of The Brink is available on The Brink‘s official Facebook page.

It’s important to note that these episodes are not available in full on YouTube – where HBO has been uploading some full episodes for a while now.

Of course, the goal here is to get the shows in front of a bunch of eyes and hope that it inspires people to subscribe to HBO NOW, the company’s just-launched standalone streaming venture.

Both are worth your time – especially for free. I mean, it’s The Rock. What more needs to be said?
