  • Plane Crash in the Bahamas Leaves One Dead

A small plane carrying 11 passengers went down over water near the Bahamas Tuesday, killing a 77-year-old American, according to local authorities.

The twin-engine Piper PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain had originated from the isle of Eleuthera, and crashed as it was preparing to touch down at New Providence, according to Superintendent Paul Rolle.

Authorities stated that the pilot reported trouble with the plane, and was trying to fly it close to shallow water, before it lost power and crashed roughly 550 feet offshore.

The plane was operated by Ferguson Air, and was being charter by Bahamas-based Southern Air.

Ten passengers were hospitalized, though their conditions are currently unknown. The identity of the deceased has not been revealed.

Divers from an aquatic sports business were in the vicinity at the time of the crash, and helped rescue the survivors, according to authorities.

Incidentally, American singer, dancer, actress and model Aaliyah was killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas on August 25, 2001. Eight other passengers of the twin-engine Cessna 402B were also killed.

The singer had been filming a music video for “Rock the Boat,” and was eager to return to the U.S. after the production wrapped. The plane was said to be overloaded, and went down shortly after takeoff.

The pilot was unlicensed and had trace levels of cocaine and alcohol in his system.

A Lifetime made-for-TV biopic on the late pop star entitled Aaliyah: Princess Of R&B premiered on November 15, to overwhelmingly negative reviews. Actress Alexandra Shipp reportedly had to delete her Twitter and Instagram apps from her phone during production, due to backlash generated from her portrayal of the late singer.

Here is the trailer for Aaliyah: Princess of R&B:

  • Myles Munroe And His Entourage Killed In Plane Crash

Dr. Myles Munroe, a preacher, author, and business coach, was killed on November 9 after his private plane crashed in the Bahamas. There were no survivors in the accident which also took the life of Munroe’s wife, Ruth. Some of the other identified casualties were members of Bahamas Faith Ministries International including the group’s senior vice president Dr. Richard Pinder and Pastors Lavard and Radel Parks and their son Johann Parks.

The plane crashed while attempting to land at the Grand Bahamas Airport. According to the investigation, severe weather conditions was a factor in the crash. Munroe’s Lear 36 Executive Jet reportedly struck a shipping container crane as it tried to land. It was also reported that a commercial flight arriving on the same route and time as the private jet turned back because the weather made it impossible to land.

The group was on their way to the Global Leadership Forum, an event organized by Munroe that was scheduled to take place this week at the city of Freeport.

Former UN US Ambassador Andrew Young was scheduled to speak at the event. His office released a statement on the tragedy, saying “Ambassador Young expresses his deep sadness over the tragic death of his friends Dr. Myles and Mrs. Ruth Munroe. He offers condolences to the Munroe family and the families of the other souls who lost their lives as a result of this shocking plane crash.”

Bahamas Faith Ministries International also issued a statement following the accident. “Words cannot express our profound sense of loss for all of the team members on this tragic flight,” the group said in the statement. “Dr. Munroe was our visionary, our founder, our mentor, adviser, father figure and friend. He was a global leader and icon and was respected worldwide.”

Munroe founded Bahamas Faith Ministries International back in the early 1980s after studying at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Since the group’s founding, Munroe became a noted religious figure not only in the Bahamas but also around the world.

  • Plane Crash in Bahamas Leaves Four Dead

Plane Crash in Bahamas Leaves Four Dead

At 8:30 am Monday morning, a Cessna 340 aircraft left Ormond Beach Municipal Airport and headed for Grand Bahama International Airport. Unfortunately, the plane would crash approximately six miles from its destination, killing all four passengers aboard the aircraft.

Aboard the plane was Ormond Beach lawyer, R. Michael “Mike” Kennedy. Kennedy was 65 years old and was the attorney for a Florida-based travel services company. Despite the fact that Kennedy’s business was located on Ormond Beach, he flew to his office located in Freeport once or twice per week, according to his brother.

The loss has been especially hard for Mark Kennedy, Mike’s brother, and the rest of his family: “It’s very bad. We were very close. We were together yesterday afternoon at a Tampa Bay Rays game celebrating my sister’s birthday.”

Traveling along with Kennedy were three other passengers – Robert Dean Carlson, the pilot and timeshare businessman, and two other, unidentified individuals.

The Federal Aviation Administration first reported the crash to the Coast Guard at 11 a.m. EST. Upon learning of the downed plane, the Coast Guard released helicopters to aid the Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association and the Royal Bahamian Police Force in the search. Unfortunately for authorities, the crash occurred in the middle of a mangrove area at low tide, hindering the initial search efforts.

An investigation, headed by the United States National Transportation Safety Board, is currently underway to determine the reason behind the crash.

  • Nick Cannon: Why He’s A Complete Idiot

Okay, I’m going to start off by saying this: I think Nick Cannon is an idiot.

He’s certainly not an idiot in the business sense, because the guy’s pretty successful. And no, he’s not an idiot within social realms, because he was able to snag the diva of all divas in Mariah Carey.

And his idiocy doesn’t have to do with his level of talent either, because Cannon can be funny at times and he can even be fun to watch on television and in the movies.

But this is where his idiocy lies: The guy just tries too hard to stand out and get attention, which often makes him look foolish. I mean, just look at some of the outfits he chooses to wear.

For example, he’ll wear an all-white three-piece suit at a basketball game just to make some sort of statement, but the only statement he actually makes is, ‘Hey guys, my whole style is totally contrived and I have no natural ability to be fashionable or appropriately dressed.

And Cannon recently posting photos of himself in white-face is dumb too, but it fits right in with his usual way of going way too far and trying way too hard to get noticed, but that’s what a lot of idiots do.

Of course, the 33 year old received a lot of backlash for the white-face stunt, but some might say many of those who claim to be offended aren’t really offended at all, meaning they’re truly not bothered way down deep about what Cannon did, it’s just their opportunity to use the words “double-standard” and “hypocrite,” because people love uttering those words whenever they’re able to.

But back to Cannon. Again, his idiocy stems from his lack of judgement and trying too hard to shock people, and a perfect example of this is when he went on a Los Angeles radio show recently, and spoke way too much about his sex life with Carey. For some reason he actually spoke about the first time they slept together.

“Our wedding night, honeymoon night, house in the Bahamas [is the first time we had sex],” said Cannon. “That’s a real woman right there, make you wait until you’re getting married….I’m a pleaser, I went in like ‘She’s gonna love this.’”

Thanks, Nick. We were all dying to hear about the details of your sex life. Much appreciated.

Hopefully somebody in or near Cannon’s camp will tell him to tone it down a bit or just take some time off from being in the public eye and being an idiot. Oh yeah, somebody should tell him to choose better outfits too.
