    Jordana Brewster Welcomes Baby Boy

“Fast and Furious” star, Jordana Brewster and her husband, Andrew Form, have just welcomed the newest edition to their family via surrogacy: a sweet baby boy.

A rep for the actress told ABC that the two “are excited to announce the birth of their son, Julian Brewster-Form. The parents are overjoyed.” Julian will be welcomed by his canine siblings, Labradors Henry and Ella.

Brewster and Form met on the set of “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning” in 2005 and started secretly dating. “We started dating in secret – you know, hanging out in my trailer – because it would have been unprofessional otherwise. But every day, Andrew wore these work boots to the set, and if I was lying down in the shot or there was equipment in the way, I’d look for his shoes. It was comfortable just to know he was nearby.” The couple fell in love and were married in 2007 in the Caribbean on Nevis Island. Brewster said that she always wanted to have kids.

“I definitely want to have kids. I want two. I grew up with a sister, but I know Andrew would love boys, but I’ll take what I can get. One thing that I’ve always sort of loved and been enamoured by is the idea of having twins. My dad was a twin, so it runs in the family. Fingers crossed. So we’re thinking about having kids but I don’t know when it’ll happen. I feel very ready now”, Jordana told Latina Magazine earlier this year.

Lisa shared the news that they had lost their unborn baby boy on her blog:

“I have been dreading this announcement…. I needed some time before being able to say it. Jack and I lost our baby boy last week,” she wrote. “Having a late-term miscarriage is by far the hardest thing either of us have ever had to go through. We appreciate all of your prayers and ask for privacy and respect during this time. It’s important to stay hopeful and optimistic through life’s toughest moments. We never know why things like this happen. All we can do is trust in God and know he has a plan for our lives.”

The Osbourne’s had just announced that they were expecting their second child in August and were very excited to share the news. “Jack and I are super excited to share with you all that we are expecting our second baby!” Lisa had said. “I am in my second trimester, feeling great & trying not to eat everything in sight.”

Jack and Lisa were married in October of last year, and have a 16 month old daughter named Pearl. It was announced earlier this week, on Wednesday, that Jack would be a contestant of the new season of “Dancing with the Stars”.

  • Simon Cowell & Lauren Silverman Spotted Together

X Factor judge, Simon Cowell originally avoided questions about his personal life and the fact that he was having a baby with Lauren Silverman. But now the two have stepped out into the spotlight together for the first time since the world found out that he was a soon-to-be father.

At the X Factor TCA panel on August 1, Cowell was congratulated by reporters for the pregnancy, and he attempted to play it off as though he didn’t know what they were talking about.

He told reporters: “Am I missing something? Unfortunately, I have to keep this for the moment private. It’s just one of those things. But thank you very much anyway.” He later added: “I would love to talk, but I have to respect a lot of people’s feelings right now. There are a lot of things I will eventually clear up when the time is right, but I really have to be sensitive because there’s a lot of people’s feelings involved here.”

However, since Silverman’s divorce, from Andrew Silverman, was finalized on August 14, the two no longer have to keep their love and pregnancy a secret and have been spotted out and about together for the first time. A source close to the lovebirds said: “They are definitely a couple. The relationship is loving and they’re very happy together.”

The photographs were taken as they enjoyed a walk in the South of France on Friday, August 2. Silverman’s due date is in February, and you can now see her growing baby bump in the photos.

Cowell’s thoughts on being a daddy? “I’m happy and excited,” Cowell told Us on Aug. 20 at the One Direction movie premier. “It’s a great time in my life,” he added.

  • Third Gender Option: Now Available on German Birth Certificates

An ABC News story that was on Good Morning America yesterday is turning heads. This November, Germany is to become the first European nation to legally, as well as bureaucratically, recognize a third gender in cases of babies born with ambiguous genitalia. The law requires birth certificates to have the option of “blank” next to male and female. The Munich newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung is calling it a “legal revolution.”

The story estimates that 1 in 2000 infants are intersex, which means that they fall into an umbrella of roughly 60 possible conditions that would be classified as disorders of sexual development. These disorders would include unusual chromosomes and gonads. Historically, we called these people “hermaphrodites,” and we believed that we could erase and redraw their gender identities at will.

U.S. doctors have recently come under controversy because gender identification is, frankly, not well understood. The standard practice is to assign a gender and wait for the child to develop mentally and physically before considering any kind of surgery.

A psychiatrist in New York City, Dr. Jack Drescher, said that the German birth certificate change “sounds like a good thing… Some people have life-endangering conditions that require surgery, but most kids do not… You can make a gender assignment without surgery and then see how identity develops. The science of knowing how a child will develop any gender identity is not very accurate…. Nobody can answer the questions about why this happens.”

Not all European nations agree with Germany’s progressive stance on the issue. France in particular has been cited as having trouble dealing with gender issues, and French lawmakers recently called for the removal of gender theory from school textbooks.

The Inquisitr notes that the first country in the world to bureaucratically recognize a third gender was Nepal, followed almost immediately by Australia, and that a Canadian group called Forcechange is taking signatures to petition the Canadian government for similar acknowledgement.

Der Spiegel writes that Finland is not very far behind Germany, but red tape is getting in the way. The policy director for the human rights watchdog group International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex Association, Silvan Agius, has claimed that the European Union is intentionally hampering efforts to make progress on third gender recognition: “Things are moving slower than they should at the European level… Germany’s move will put more pressure on Brussels [and] that can only be a good thing.”

  • Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz Welcome a Baby Girl

For a couple who like to keep their personal lives private, Javier Bardem and wife Penelope Cruz couldn’t have picked a better day to welcome their second child into the world. While all eyes were patiently waiting on London and the arrival of the royal heir, Cruz quietly gave birth to a baby girl on the same day Prince George Alexander Louis, was born.

A representative confirmed that Cruz gave birth at the Ruber Internacional Hospital in Madrid.

Cruz confirmed she was pregnant for a second time to Spanish television station TVE! in February, saying that she was “tremendously happy and excited.”

    (image)

Motherhood is something Cruz didn’t fully understand until it finally happened to her. Not long after the actress gave birth to their first child, she told Vogue magazine, “Even if you have heard from all your friends and family, ‘This is what’s going to happen,’ until it happens to you, it’s hard to understand in your soul.”

The couple, who met on the set of Vicky Cristina Barcelona in 2007, were married in the Bahamas in July 2010. They had their first child, son Leonardo Encinas Bardem, in January 2011.

Since the birth of their son Leo, Cruz has been determined to put her family first. In an interview with Haper’s Bazaar in April 2012, Cruz said, “Maybe I’ll make one movie a year, maybe two, but it’s not going to be more than that because I have other priorities now.”

The couple can be seen together in the upcoming film, The Counselor, also starring Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender, and Cameron Diaz. The film is set to be released on October 25.

Comedienne Jen Kirkman tweeted her comments on the babies on Tuesday.

I’m not sure if I agree with her, but Cruz and Bardem’s baby will most definitely have a better tan.

  • Royal Baby Due Date: Kate Middleton Could Give Birth By End Of The Week

The royal baby due date has been a hot topic among royal family fans since Kate Middleton and Prince Williams announced last year that they were expecting. Now it seems that we could see a new prince or princess by the end of this week.

Camilla, wife of Prince Charles, revealed this week that Middleton should be giving birth by the end of this week. During a visit to a children’s hospital, she said that she hopes “by the end of the week he or she will be there.” The he or she being referred to is of course the royal baby that everybody is just dying to see.

Middleton’s and Prince William’s child has been the subject of intense speculation for the past few months as the due date draws ever closer. In May, many speculated that the baby would arrive on July 13 – the date of the Queen’s Coronation Festival. Obviously, that didn’t happen.

Missing the previously rumored due date isn’t going to deter the press though. There were reports last week that the press has crowded around St. Mary’s Hospital for any news on Middleton and the baby. The royal family will of course be the first to know when Middleton goes into labor, but the press is competing to see who among them will be the first to report it.

Beyond that, we now just have to play the waiting game. Middleton is obviously due to deliver any time now, but the baby could prove that it already has some royal learnings by showing up fashionably late. The royal family probably wants to get it over with sooner rather than later though so they can finally relax just a little bit. Well, that is until the little prince or princess becomes the focus of attention for all of Great Britain and fans of the royal family the world over.

  • Kim and Kanye’s Baby Pics Worth $3 Million

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are not exactly renowned for being the most private of people. Kardashian, especially, seems to be famous simply because of her willingness to let every part of her personal life have a spotlight shown on it. The celebrity couple has had even less privacy since Kardashian revealed her pregnancy, releasing a torrent of paparazzi, news investigations, and (apparant) national interest.

Towards the end of Kardashian’s pregnancy, there was much ado about what the child’s name would be. Turbulence rocked the internet at the idea of a “K” name for the baby, and even more trouble arose at the eventual decision to christen the child “North.” Debates about the name being either clever or ridiculous abounded (and are still rather prevalent, just take a look at Twitter).

Baby North remains a pinnacle of public interest even after her debut on Earth. More drama is arising from alleged offers of up to three million dollars for exclusive sneak-peaks at the babe. According to insiders, People Magazine offered two million dollars for the first baby pictures, and an unnamed Australian magazine offered the three million. Even North’s grandmother, Kris Jenner, is not immune to the allure of the baby’s influence; Jenner is allegedly pressuring for North’s first photos to appear on her new talk show during its premiere week.

Kardashian and West, however, seem to have ideas of their own for the public reveal of their new bundle of joy. They are opting for the most privacy they can for the time being, with Kardashian keeping to the house with North before the first photo shoot. They have rejected both the two million and three million dollar offers. Insiders say that the planned shoot will not appear on Jenner’s show, and the proceeds are rumored to be going to an unnamed charity.

The eventual release of the photos from this shoot are sure to rock the internet and national tabloid headlines. Until then, we (apparently) wait on pins and needles.

  • Swimming Baby Video Nears 1 Million Views

Though incidents such as kidnappings and shootings often grab headlines, drowning is a much more common cause of death for children growing up in the U.S. So, before the gun safety lectures and “stranger danger” classes, parents might be wise to make sure their children are capable of holding their heads above water.

One couple this week has set the internet on fire by showing just how early children can be taught not only how to save themselves from drowning, but to develop swimming skills rivaling those of some adults. A video posted to YouTube back in August 2012 went viral this week, showing a 16-month-old girl swimming freely and expertly across a swimming pool:

The child’s father, Adam Christensen, posted the video and emphasized in the video’s description that the girl, named Elizabeth, was in no danger. He stated that he and his wife are both CPR certified, and that his wife worked as a life guard for six years. From the video description:

At no point do we force our child to do anything she is unwilling to try. We are able to recognize infant/toddler fatigue in the swimming pool. Elizabeth is a very determined little girl and sometimes she wants to roll over and breath as she was taught and sometimes she wants to hold her breath the whole way. I was 100% prepared to jump in at first sign of distress. Please watch some of the other videos I’ve posted of her swimming and spread the word. Teach your child how to swim because it only takes a moment for them to slip under and drown.

  • Joe Torre: Daughter Saves Falling Baby

Joe Torre: Daughter Saves Falling Baby

Former Major League Baseball (MLB) all-star and longtime Yankees manager Joe Torre is well-known for his skill on the field. It’s clear now that, in addition to coaching world-class athletes, he also passed those skills on to his progeny.

Torre’s daughter, Cristina Torre, is being hailed as a hero today after saving a one-year-old baby from falling to its death. According to NBC New York, Torre was having coffee in a Brooklyn diner when a man rushed in to tell patrons that a baby was sitting precauriously on a fire escape nearby. Torres placed herself under the child, who she says was straddling the fire escape, and called 911.

The baby then slipped, hanging on with both of its tiny hands. When it inevitably fell, it hit an awning before landing safely in Torre’s arms.

Joe Torre told NBC that he got goosebumps when told the story and that “the kids are our future.” Christina, a teacher, said that her actions “just came naturally” as she downplayed her new hero status.

The baby’s parents were reportedly asleep during the incident. 23-year-old Sam Miller and 24-year-old Tiffany Demitro have been arrested on charges of reckless endangerment. Window guards have now been installed in the baby’s parents’ apartment.

  • Turkey Baster Rescue: Man Saves Baby’s Life With Thanksgiving Utensil

Turkey basters are usually kept in the kitchen, but when you’re faced with a tough decision that must be made in a split second, sometimes you have to get creative with how it’s used.

Michigan man Bill Hogenson was working in the neighborhood when he heard cries for help from a woman in a nearby house, and ran over to find the 5-month old she was babysitting choking on something. Reacting quickly, he began CPR on the infant. When that didn’t work, he grabbed the baster and used it as a bulb syringe to suck the mucus from the baby’s nose and throat.

“We heard one of the babysitters talking on the phone to 911 saying that the baby is purple and not breathing,” said Hogenson. “At first I was in disbelief that did I just hear that. So I started jogging towards her. I went to the drawer and found a turkey baster and used the turkey baster to clear her nasal passage and her airway. Patted her on the back some more, then spun her around and got a good look at her and she quit crying and she smiled at me and I knew that we were going to be in the good.”

The baby’s parents, Shawn and Robin Gasciogne, say they are indebted to Hogenson and insist it was fate that led him to the babysitter’s home that day.

“If it wasn’t for him, we wouldn’t have this beautiful baby here now, and we are forever grateful,” Shawn Gasciogne said.

Infants are, unfortunately, susceptible to choking on mucus because their nasal passages aren’t fully formed yet; they can even spit up and have it come out their nose. The best thing to do if a baby starts to get choked is to keep a calm head and clear the passages as soon as possible.

  • Channing Tatum, ‘Sexiest Man Alive’, is Now a Father

People magazine’s “sexiest man alive,” Channing Tatum, can now qualify for “sexiest father alive.” The Magic Mike star and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, have just become parents.

According to a Us Weekly report, Dewan-Tatum gave birth to the couple’s first child on May 30 in London. The magazine’s unnamed source could not reveal the gender of the baby.

Tatum is currently in London filming for the movie Jupiter Ascending. Though the couple will retain busy schedules throughout the summer, the Us report states that the baby will be top priority.

Tatum met his wife on the set of the movie Step Up in 2006. By 2008 the couple were engaged, and they were wed on July 11, 2009.

In addition to Jupiter Ascending, Tatum is the star of the upcoming summer action movie White House Down, which he stars in with Jamie Foxx. He will also join Jonah Hill for a sequel to 2012’s 21 Jump Street, scheduled to be released sometime in 2014.

  • ‘Sewage Baby’ Safely Returned to Grandparents

A Chinese baby rescued from a sewer pipe just inches thick is now healthy and in safe hands.

According to a BBC News report, the baby was rescued from a pipe in a residence near Jinhua City, China on Saturday, May 25. The infant’s mother told police that the baby slipped into a toilet and went down the pipe as she was giving birth to it. The woman reportedly then told her landlord about the incident.

After cutting the pipe from the wall, the baby was carefully removed from the pipe at a hospital in Jinhua City. The infant, known as “Baby 59” after its hospital incubator number, recovered and was released to its maternal grandparents.

Though police initially investigated the incident as an attempted murder, authorities are now saying they have evidence that it was, in fact, an accident.

  • Hilary Duff Shares The Troubles of Motherhood & Paparazzi

Hilary Duff seems to be enjoying motherhood, but admits to OMG Yahoo that it’s hard to be a mother when being followed by the paparazzi. Duff explains that it’s hard to take a baby out, while being followed by photographers.

“I haven’t had to explain it to my son yet, what’s going on. For the most part they respect me and they respect my space, but it’s tough to always be photographed.”

Along with the paparazzi, Duff has run into more normal problems with motherhood, namely losing the weight put on from carrying a human being around in your belly for nine months. She hired a trainer, and with a strict diet and exercise regimen, she was able to reach her goal of burning the 50 lbs. She shared her journey towards weight loss on her Instagram account.

Duff is looking to try and work some more, while balancing her time with her son. Recently, she appeared on the season finale of Two and a Half Men. She explains she was able to take the work, because it fit in with her schedule, and left her plenty of time with her son.

She’s hoping to keep the work going, looking to get back into the studio to make music. Of course, the balance act of taking care of her son and work will continue. Not to mention the paparazzi influence. No one said it would ever be easy, right?

  • Chely Wright & Wife Are Now Mothers to Twins

Country Music star Chely Wright is now a mother. According to a report in People magazine, the singer gave birth to identical twin sons this past Saturday.

The twins have reportedly been named George Samuel and Everett Joseph after their great-grandfathers. Wright released a short statement to People, saying that she and her wife are grateful for their medical care and “the love and support of family and friends.”

Wright’s pregnancy had been announced back in January, when it was revealed the singer was expecting twins. At the time, the due date for the twins’ birth was reported to be sometime in the summer. Though much speculation has surrounded the issue, Wright and her wife have declined to give details on how Wright conceived.

Wright found success in the 90s with hits songs such as “Shut Up and Drive” and “Single White Female.” She came out as a lesbian in 2010, making her the first major country music star to do so. She then married Lauren Blitzer (now Lauren Blitzer-Wright) the following year in a ceremony in Connecticut. Blitzer-Wright is a music executive and an LGBT activist.

  • Banned Baby Names List Emerges in New Zealand

Naming a child is a difficult decision for expecting parents, but some don’t take it as seriously as others.

Take, for instance, the New Zealand parents who lost custody of their daughter after naming her Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii. In light of that incident and others, the country has now expanded its banned names list to include a wide variety of strange names.

According to an AFP report, the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs has issued a list of 77 banned names. The list reportedly includes the names Anal, 4Real, V8, Queen Victoria, Lucifer, Mafia No Fear, and 2nd.

The department also bans names such as King, Duke, Princess, and Justice that could convey a title. In particular, the AFP reports that Justice and intentional misspellings such as Justus or Juztice have been rejected numerous times.

The country also bans names that contain numbers or characters, such as a period. A New Zealand Herald report states that parents attempting to use a backslash between two names have been denied in the past. Parents attempting to name their child using initials have also been turned down by New Zealand officials.

His next movie projects include the Wes Anderson film The Grand Budapest Hotel and the 2014 movie Birdman.

  • Baby Born 15 Pounds, 7 Ounces in the U.K.

Baby Born 15 Pounds, 7 Ounces in the U.K.

A woman in the U.K. has reportedly given birth to a humongous baby more than twice the size of a normal infant.

According to a BBC News report, Jade King of Bristol gave birth last month to a baby George. The newborn was reported to have weighed 15 pounds, 7 ounces at the time of his birth.

As you might imagine, a baby that large caused some complications during childbirth. George’s shoulders became stuck during birth, and the baby reportedly went five minutes without oxygen. Doctors told the couple that George had only a 10% chance of survival as they transferred him to St. Michael’s Hospital in Bristol. Luckily, doctors were able to help the baby and George was allowed to go home for the first time only four-and-a-half weeks after his troubled birth.

George is getting regular check-ups and Jade stated that an MRI did not reveal any major brain damage to the child. She did relate, though, that none of the clothes they had bought before his birth were able to fit him.

  • Baby Left With Note in Grocery Store Parking Lot

Shopping with children is certainly high up on the list of stressful activities for parents. The alternative of leaving the baby alone is not a real option, but a woman in New Zealand decided this weekend that it was.

The New Zealand Herald is reporting that a mother left her baby alone in a car in the parking lot of the Porirua, New Zealand Pak’nSave grocery store. A note was left on the infant, reading,”My mum’s in doing the shopping, call her if I need anything.” The man who found the baby promptly called the number left on the note and summoned the child’s mother to the parking lot.

Though leaving a child alone in such a way is illegal in New Zealand, no charges were mentioned by the Herald report.

Leaving a child unattended in a vehicle, especially in hot weather, is dangerous. Children die as a result of the practice on a yearly basis, and some states have laws that allow parents to be prosecuted on manslaughter charges for such deaths.

Kim Jong Un Baby: Dictator May Be A Father

Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, married Ri Sol-ju in the middle of last year. Now the couple has reportedly had their first child.

The Washington Free Beacon reports that Sol-ju secretly gave birth to her first child late last year. The news comes from South Korea who have reportedly confirmed the birth though North Korea isn’t talking.

So why is North Korea not wanting the world to celebrate in their glorious leader’s new child? According to some foreign policy analysts, the country didn’t announce the birth because the child wasn’t a boy. That being said, nobody’s sure as to the sex of the child at this point though.

If the baby is a girl, it’s unlikely that she’ll be put into a position of power in North Korea. The Free Beacon notes, however, that North Korea is slowly turning into a family dynasty so nothing is off the table. They note that Sol-ju may even have more power than initially thought as she has been seen having considerable sway over decisions made by Kim Jong Un.

It’s not known when Kim Jong Un will announce the birth of his first child, but he can’t hide it forever. It’s likely that we’ll see some news of it this year. Until then, start preparing for all the Baby Kim memes.

  • Grandma Has Daughter’s Baby Via Surrogate Birth

“Grandma has daughter’s baby” has weird science written all over it. It’s not the plot of a bad 80s movie though as a Maine woman recently did give birth to her own grandson. The science behind the feat is even relatively normal considering the circumstances.

Our story takes place in Maine where Linda Sirois, 49, gave birth to her own grandson, Madden Brian Hebert. The child is the son of Angel Hebert, Sirois’ daughter, and her husband, Brian. As you probably could have guessed, the child was born through in vitro fertilisation with Sirois acting as the surrogate mother.

It turned out that Hebert couldn’t give birth herself as she had a heart condition. The stress of giving birth could cause complications and they just couldn’t risk it. It turns out that Hebert’s mother had already offered to be a surrogate mother in the past and Hebert finally took her mother up on her offer.

Sirois said that the whole affair was “pretty simple” from her end. She was able to find a fertility center to accept her despite her age and was soon carrying her grandson. Funny enough, she claims this pregnancy was her easiest since she never suffered morning sickness during the pregnancy.

While the circumstances are a little odd, in vitro fertilisations and surrogate mothers are nothing new. Many women now choose to have their children through surrogate mothers. Studies have even shown that mothers who have their children through surrogates actually form tighter bonds than their naturally conceived peers.
