  • Bobbi Kristina Brown: Nick Gordon Under Investigation for Attempted Murder?

Bobbi Kristina Brown remains in a medically induced coma more than a month after she was discovered facedown and unconscious in her bathtub. On Saturday, it came to light that Bobby Brown’s sister Leolah Brown wrote in an alleged letter to Dr. Phil McGraw that Nick Gordon is under investigation for the attempted murder of Bobbi Kristina Brown. Is there any truth to this?

It’s no secret that Nick Gordon has been under investigation for the situation that left Bobbi Kristina Brown hovering near death. However prior reports made it sound like authorities were investigating him to see if he and Bobbi Kristina were doing drugs prior to the time when she was discovered unconscious.

Bobby Brown has recently made statements via his attorney about many rumors that have arisen since his daughter’s tragedy. In one of them he asked people to disregard a lot of what his family members were saying. Might that be the case with this latest revelation on behalf of Leolah Brown, too?

“Dr. Phil, With all due respect, Nick Gordon is under investigation for the attempted murder of my niece Bobbi Kristina Brown,” the alleged letter reads.

“We have strong evidence of foul play,” she added. “Until this investigation is completed by law enforcement, I would ask that you or anyone else not provide this individual a platform to spin this situation to his benefit.”

So how does Dr. Phil play into this situation? Earlier this week Nick Gordon taped an episode of The Dr. Phil Show, during which Dr. Phil convinced Gordon to go to rehab. Leolah Brown no doubt thought her letter would convince Dr. Phil not to have Nick Gordon on his TV show.

It will be interesting to see if Bobby Brown has anything to say about one of his family members once again making the news. In the meantime there is no change in Bobbi Kristina Brown. Her condition remains the same, and Brown–along with Whitney Houston’s mom Cissy Houston–continue to sit vigil at her bedside.

Do you think Nick Gordon is really under investigation for attempted murder?

  • Hugh Hefner of Tauranga: AC/DC Drummer Phil Rudd Arrested

Phil Rudd, the 60-year-old drummer for rock ‘n’ roll band AC/DC, was arrested on the morning of November 6 during a police raid on his North Island home in New Zealand. The musician was charged with attempting to procure a murder, threatening to kill, and possession of cannabis and methamphetamines.

The alleged hitman hired by Rudd said that the aging rock star wanted protection after disputes with “working girls” and their partners. In an exclusive interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, the hitman/bodyguard, said that Rudd was the “Hugh Hefner of Tauranga” because of the amount that he pays for escorts is “like someone’s yearly wage.”

It has been reported that the bodyguard, whose name has been witheld, went on countless trips with Rudd including fishing and helicopter trips as well as driving around in Rudd’s expensive sports cars. Despite the arrest, the man claims that Rudd is “a good fella” with a “big heart”.

The alleged hitman discussed the dispute with escorts at length. “The girls that he gets, working girls and that, their partners get pissed off, he tells them ‘Nah I’m not paying you’ and then the partners come and say they want their money.”

According to documents, Rudd was accused of hiring the alleged hitman to kill two people between September 25 and September 26. He was also accused of attempting to kill a complainant on September 26.

Rudd was released on bail until his upcoming trial on November 27.

While he remains part of AC/DC, the “Hugh Hefner of Tauranga” has been left out of press photos for the band’s upcoming album Rock or Bust. This absence leaves his future with the band uncertain.

Recently, Rudd released the solo album Head Job back in September. Although considering his hard-living playboy lifestyle, Hugh Hefner of Tauranga may have been a more appropriate album title. After all, it’s a nickname that’s sure to catch on.

  • Jill Hansen: Pro Surfer Charged With Attempted Murder

Jill Hansen seemingly had it all; not only is she a professional surfer, she is also a model with her own line of swimwear. So, what would make this very successful woman want to kill a 73-year-old woman?

That is the question that everyone is asking after Hansen allegedly tried to run over Elizabeth Conklin, a Hawaiian native, with her car.

On Wednesday, Conklin explained to ABC News that she parked in her normal spot in the parking garage at the Diamond Head apartments in Waikiki. Little did she know, when she exited the car, she would be the victim of a hit-and-run. “I parked in my normal parking place, and I got out and all of a sudden I woke up in an ambulance.”

Apparently, Hansen had been waiting for Conklin to get out of the vehicle before plowing into her. Luckily, a bystander was there to witness the incident, and smashed out Hansen’s back window before she was able to hit her again.

The bystander, a maintenance worker for the building, said that Hansen had put her car in reverse and was going to back over Conklin a second time. “He saw her in her car getting ready to hit me again. He totally saved my life,” Conklin said. Conklin was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, and is said to be headed for a full recovery.

According to the investigators, Hansen then fled the scene, but was later tracked down by police. No official motive has been released; however, it is believed that Hansen was wanting to steal Conklin’s vehicle. Hansen is currently being held on a $1 million bond.

  • 9-month-old Arrested in Pakistan for Attempted Murder

It appears that in some countries, no matter how old you are, if you do the crime, then you face the possibility of doing the time.

And strangely enough, a 9-month-old child faced criminal charges on Thursday.

A Pakistani baby boy was arrested alongside his family for attempted murder, threatening a police, and interfering in state affairs.

As Muhammad Mosa Khan sat on his father’s lap in a Pakistani Court Thursday, he and his family faced charges in a crime that involved police raiding a group of 25 protestors in the city of Lahore.

The police department claim that the group was suspected gas thieves. Officers at the scene also accused the group for stoning them at the time of their arrest.

However, Khan’s father, Ahmed, said that the group was falsely charged for a crime they didn’t commit.

“Our crime is that we had protested against non-availability of electricity in our locality,” Ahmed said.

Ahmed told authorities that they were only protesting in reference to an electrical shortage.

Whether they were protesting peacefully is unclear.

Judge Rafaqat Ali authorized police officials to obtain a statement from baby Muhammad, but realized he was quite too young and granted him bail.

The case has been postponed until April 12.

Attorney Irfan Tarar said that the baby boy would be presented before a judge during next week’s trial.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Rana Jabbar, there was a disagreement among the officers whether to book the minor. The sub-inspector was later suspended for filing charges against Muhammad.

Since the case is not under Judge Ali’s jurisdiction, he was unable to dismiss the case against the child.

  • Tennessee Road Rage Incident Results in Gunfire

We’ve all had our moments of feeling some degree of road rage at one point or another. Rodney Lee Scott took his rage to a whole different level. The Tennessee man is currently being held on a $1 million bond for attempted murder.

The incident occurred on Monday when Scott’s SUV nearly hit two motorcycles on the interstate. The drivers of the motorcycles waved their arms at Scott who then responded with an obscene gesture. He then backed his vehicle into one of the motorcyclists.

Scott then fled the scene and drove back to his house. The men on the motorcycles followed him there and called the police. That is when Scott went totally ballistic. It is reported that Scott began shouting racial slurs and came out of his garage carrying two guns.

The sheriff department confirmed that one of the motorcyclists, Tyler Lakin, was shot four times, three times in the back and one time in the wrist. Lakin was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.

This isn’t Scott’s first experience with road rage. In 2002, he was charged with assault. However, those charges were dismissed after he completed the terms of his probation.

Currently, no agency keeps an official record of road rage incidents. However, according to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, reports of “aggressive driving” have increased about 7% each year since 1990. Whether a driver gets angry for being cut off or getting behind a vehicle driving too slow in the left lane, many of these “road rage” occurrences result in injury or even death.

  • Ohio Judge Allegedly Poisoned by Wife

The wife of an Ohio county judge is sitting in jail for allegedly poisoning her husband. Carla Rae Hague is a 71-year-old retired nurse who has been married to Charles Hague, a Ohio judge, for 45 years. She is being held in a jail adjacent to the courthouse where her husband is a judge. Carla Hague has been charged of poisoning Charles Hague with ethylene glycol, a substance commonly known as antifreeze. She now faces felony assault charges as well as charges of tampering with evidence according to the County Sheriff.

After suffering the effects of the antifreeze, Judge Hague had to be rushed to a hospital in Ashtabula County back in September. According to the sheriff’s office, they received a phone call from Charles Hague’s family members on September 19. His family filed a complaint after hospital tests revealed that high levels of antifreeze was found in Judge Hague’s body. Carla was arrested on December 2 following the allegations.

The judge has been sitting on the Common Pleas Juvenile/ Probate Court for 2 decades now. Bill Johnson, Ashtabula County Sheriff told ABC News that the Hague family is well known in Ashtabula County.

“The investigation is just simply an investigation,” said the sheriff. “It is a little bit more sensitive because of him being a sitting judge, but we would handle it the same way no matter who it would be in an investigation.”

The judge is currently recovering at home while the wife remains in jail. A grand jury for the case is expected to convene later this month to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to charge the judge’s wife.

The motive for Carla Hague’s alleged actions are unknown. The Hague family has no comment at this time.

  • Inglewood Hostage Standoff Suspect Identified

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department identified the suspect from the Inglewood hostage standoff on Thursday, November 28, 2013. The suspect, 45-year-old Christopher Warsaw, shot two Inglewood police officers and was arrested late Wednesday night after an approximately nine-hour standoff. According to officials, the incident began around 12:35 p.m. when Inglewood police responded to a domestic violence call at a home in the 10700 block of South 5th Avenue, near 108th Street. When police arrived, Warsaw opened fire on the officers and barricaded himself inside the home with two hostages, believed to be his girlfriend and teenage daughter.

The male officer was struck in his bulletproof vest and suffered blunt force trauma injuries. He was admitted to Centinela Hospital, transferred to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and is currently in stable condition. “He seems to be doing fine, he’s talking,” said James Madia, Inglewood Police Captain. “Fortunately, for all involved, they came out of it relatively okay,” he stated. The female officer fell while attempting to protect her partner and suffered minor injuries, but has since been released from the hospital. As stated by Lt. Oscar Mejia of the Inglewood Police Department, both were ten-year veterans of the department. The officers’ names were also not released to the public.

Later, a SWAT team responded to the scene. Warsaw eventually released the hostages after hours of negotiation and surrendered to authorities at approximately 9:15 p.m. “I guess the negotiator built enough trust with the suspect, who felt he would be fairly treated and safely taken into custody,” said Lt. Dave Dolson of the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.

Warsaw was booked on attempted murder charges and is being held on $1 million bail at the South Los Angeles Station. No booking photo was released and Warsaw is due in court on Monday at 8:30 a.m.

  • Utah Church Shooting Leaves Victim in Critical Condition

A 35-year-old man walked into an Ogden, Utah church on Sunday and shot his father-in-law in the back of the head.

According to the Ogden Police Department, Charles Richard Jennings, Jr. has been arrested for the attack, which took place during a Sunday mass at St. James Catholic Church in Ogden. After firing on the victim, Jennings stole a truck, but ran out of gas trying to escape on I-84. He was arrested there without incident. He has been charged with attempted aggravated criminal homicide and aggravated robbery.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, and is in critical, yet stable, condition. No other parishoners were hurt during the shooting, though the Associated Press has reported the single gunshot scared church-goers, who dove to the floor. Police do not believe the attack was a random act of violence, and believe it to be domestic violence-related.
