  • Instagram Direct Gets Some Helpful New Features

Instagram launched Direct in 2013 as a way to share images directly with specific people or groups of people as opposed to all of your followers. On Tuesday, Instagram announced a couple of improvements to it – the ability to send content via Direct directly from your feed and threaded messages.

The latter simply makes having conversations on Instagram easier. Messages stay threaded so you can go back and forth with people you talk to frequently.

“Instead of creating a new conversation every time you send a photo or video, your threads are based on the people in them — and your moments flow along naturally,” explains Instagram in a blog post. “We’ve also added the ability to name your groups, a quick camera feature to respond with a selfie on the fly, and larger-than-life emoji for when there are just no words.”

To share images and videos from your feed via Direct, just click on the new re-share arrow next to the like and comment icons. It will appear in the top right-hand corner of location and hashtag pages.

“Privacy works the same way as it always has on Instagram,” the company notes. “Photos and videos sent using Direct are only visible to people who could already see them. If the owner of a photo or video has their account set to private, only people who follow their account will be able to see it if it’s sent as a message in Direct. And, as always, you own your photos and videos — today’s updates do not change that.”

According to the company, over 85 million people use Instagram Direct each month.

Last week, Instagram announced the ability to upload images in portrait and landscape formats, no longer making users conform to the square imagery that the service is known for.

As Instagram starts to see a greater number of ads, both the new format availability and the ability for users to DM content to other users should be welcome additions to those trying to get more out of their Instagram advertising efforts.

  • Kendall Jenner Celebrates 19th Birthday In Style

On Monday, November 3, Kendall Jenner celebrated her 19th birthday. The model and reality show star spent her special day partying with family and friends, including her sisters, her mom Kris Jenner, and countless celebrities including Tyler the Creator, Cara Delevingne, and her brother in law Kanye West.

In a post on her Instagram, Kendall Jenner showed Polaroids of what went on during the party. As seen in the photographs, French Montana was there at the party having a great time. French Montana used to go out with Kendall’s sister Khloe, although he remains a close friend to the family.

Also in attendance was rapper Tyga, who is rumored to be dating Kendall’s younger sister Kylie. While news of Kylie’s rumored love life has been making the rounds, everything has been quiet on the birthday girl’s end.

Kendall’s last relationship with One Direction’s Harry Styles was short lived (they didn’t even last a year). There are rumors that she’s eyeing superstar Justin Bieber, but everything’s just speculation as of this time.

It’s been a good year for Kendall, who is slowly but surely becoming a rising star in the world of fashion, having walked the Spring 2015 runway shows for Givenchy, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Dolce & Gabbana, Balmain, Diane von Furstenburg, and Fendi among others.

And while some may attribute her success to her connections, it can’t be denied that Kendall is working really hard to make a name for herself. In an effort to distance herself from her family’s status, she has even decided to drop her last name. Kendall has been seen around New York City with her modeling portfolio in hand, trying to get as many jobs as she can handle.
Aside from her numerous appearances at fashion shows, she has also increased her profile by hosting the MuchMusic Video Awards with her sister Kylie.

  • Ariana Grande Reaches Out To Struggling Fan

Ariana Grande was recently accused of being a diva, but her recent message to a struggling fan shows just how much she cares about others.

A fan sent Grande a message asking her how she learned to accept herself and Grande replied back with some inspirational words. She shared the fan’s question and her response on Instagram and said that she hopes her message will help other people as well.

“Here are some dms I sent to a love named maya,” Grande captioned the photo. “Posting em on here in hopes that maybe they’ll be helpful to some of u loves that can relate! I know I can. please be good to u. life is a gift and there is no need to waste it hating on the things we can’t control. as hard as that can be. try to focus more on improving the things we actually can control / change…. our outlook, our state of mind, our ego, the way we treat others, the way we treat ourselves, showing more appreciation, not giving into our fears, the way we react to obstacles, etc.. some of the most important work we do during our time here on this earth is the work we do on ourselves. and it’s hard work too. love youuuu tons.”

Fans went crazy for Grande’s response and many added uplifting words and inspirational comments of their own.

Grande seemed to redeem herself after she allegedly acted bratty at a magazine photo shoot and several interviews while in Australia. According to E! News, several media outlets claimed that Grande made it almost impossible to get the proper photographs and was very particular about what she would talk about with the media.

These sources also claimed that she came with a list of demands.

Do you believe that the same girl who sent such a great message to her fans could be such a diva behind the scenes?
