  • 5 New Apple Products This Year, Analysts Say

Analysts from Piper Jaffray think they have Apple’s product release calendar for the year all worked out. If they’re right, then we’ll see 5 new major Apple products launched in 2013.

Of course, there’s always the possibility that this is completely wrong, but let’s look at what they have to say.

CNN Money has put out a report citing analysts Gene Munster and Douglas Clinton, who predict that we’ll see Apple Radio in March, iPad Mini with Retina Display (also in March), iOS 7 and iPhone 5S in June, and Apple Television in November.

We’ve already been hearing rumors about what could be Apple Radio – essentially an Apple competitor to Pandora and the like, though around the same time, the rumors also indicated that an Apple HDTV was unlikely for a 2013 release.

Everyone already expects the iPhone 5S to come out this year (some are still calling it the iPhone 6 – who knows for sure?).

iPad Mini with Retina Display seems like the next logical step for the iPad Mini, which has sold better than many expected.

Interestingly, the analysts don’t include a lower-cost iPhone in their predictions. Such a device has been in the rumor mill this week, with Bloomberg’s sources saying it could be prices between $99 and $149. The device would be aimed at emerging markets like China, where CEO Tim Cook visited this week.

  • Apple iTV Confirmed by Foxconn CEO

It turns out the rumors are (finally) true: Apple will be selling a television set in the near future. Terry Gou, Foxconn’s chairman and president, gave an interview with China Daily in which he confirmed that the company, which manufactures Apple’s products, is preparing to manufacture the iTV. Foxconn recently entered into a 50-50 joint venture with Sharp Electronics for a factory in Japan, and Gou confirmed that this was one of the preparations for iTV manufacturing.

Though Gou said no development or manufacturing has begun, China Daily repeated claims about many of the features that are already rumored for the device. The iTV will supposedly resemble current Apple Cinema Displays in design, complete with an iSight camera for video calling. Also, a remote remote that uses Siri voice commands and tight integration with other Apple devices over AirPlay are also rumored.

Apple is usually out in front of new markets, yet it seems it will still be quite a while before consumers will get to sit back on their couches and tell Siri to turn on their iTV. Meanwhile, LG already has plans to debut a TV set running Google TV in less than two weeks. It could be that Apple’s supplier problems got the better of them and delayed the iTV project.

What do you think? Is Apple being unfairly hindered by suppliers who are close with competitors such as Samsung? Or was Apple truly late to the connected-TV market? Leave a comment below and let us know.

  • Apple Never Stops Expanding: New Products, New Markets!

Market capitalization is a term which speaks to the total value (dollar amount) of the tradable (number available) shares of a publicly traded company. Apple has experienced market caps as large as $400 billion. Right now that is bigger than the gross domestic products (market value of all finished goods and services produced within a country in a given period) of Austria, Greece, Argentina, and South America. Still Apple continues to grow.

Currently Apple is considered the eighth most valuable brand in the World. With the recent passing of founder Steve Jobs, some wonder if the Apple Enterprise will continue to grow. A brief look at what’s is happening in current events suggests the fear of losing momentum has no basis.

The recent publication of the Siri patent alone reveals some interesting opportunities for growth. A particular item listed on the patent, I’m sure, has many Apple enthusiast excited, is Apple Television. Who wouldn’t want a TV that asks you what you want to watch? I know I do and it would definitely be the first of its kind.

Also, current research indicates that iPad, and tablets in general, are growing in consumer popularity (everyone wants one of these things). Not surprising, iPad 3 is on its way sometime this March.

Beside product development and growth in current markets, Apple’s popularity has exploded into the Asian marketplace. So we can expect more growth for the company there.

There is no reason to believe Apple won’t continue to expand and grow despite the loss of Steve Jobs. The technology that was developed under his leadership appears to have boundless directions for development and integration. This thing isn’t slowing down anytime soon!
