    The caption’s curt tone is not unfounded, however – Melanie Griffith received a lot of flak from critics about a previous photo she posted of her legs while relaxing in a beach in Hawaii.

    Among the numerous negative comments, one Instagram user said that they “look like men’s legs.”

    The Another Day in Paradise actress is not letting online trolls bring her down. Just one week before the Instagram debacle, Melanie Griffith officially split up with actor Antonio Banderas after 18 years of marriage.

    The newly-divorced couple, who fell in love on the set of the romantic comedy film Two Much, formally announced their divorce in June of 2014. They share one daughter together, Stella del Carmen Banderas.

    However, both Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith claim that neither of them are bitter towards each other and that they still love each other despite the fact that their marriage did not work out.

    Earlier this year, Banderas said this of his relationship with his ex-wife: “We’ll always be friends, I hope. We speak to each other every few days and I’m very happy that we’re not like many couples, where people can become bitter and angry after their marriages end. I don’t see any reason for that.”

    On December 9, Melanie Griffith shared an uplifting quote about divorce on Instagram, which she got from the book, Fly Away Home.

    If I were Melanie Griffith, I believe it would be the single life for me.

    That’s not all Melanie Griffith stands to gain in the divorce.

    She also gets the couple’s Aspen, Colorado home, half of all profits, royalties and residuals Banderas earned from 2004-2014 and half of the proceeds from the sale of their LA digs.

    Not too bad of a deal for Melanie Griffith. Of course she did lose her love and husband of two decades.

    The Melanie Griffith / Antonio Banderas divorce has been finalized.

    Griffith and Banderas made it official on Friday, and a judgment on assets was made on Tuesday.

    And if you’re curious as to who got what, TMZ says it has the papers.

    According to the publication, Griffith will receive $65,000 a month in spousal support. Banderas gets all of the dough he made from movies like The Mask of Zorro, Desperado, and Spy Kids. Griffith keeps the money she made from her earlier films. The two are splitting the revenues from movies like Shrek 2, Puss in Boots, and The Expendables franchise.

    Griffith also gets their Aspen residence, along with some of the couple’s art – including a Picasso.

    The couple first announced their divorce in June of 2014, after 18 years of marriage.

    “We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost 20 years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together,” Banderas and Griffith said in a joint statement at the time.

    According to US Weekly, Griffith and Banderas are on civil terms, and both attended their daughter Stella’s graduation together.

    Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas have finalized their divorce after 18 years of marriage.

    According to Page Six, a Los Angeles judge finalized the actors’ divorce on Friday, which was released on Tuesday, finalizing the end of the couple’s 18-year marriage.

    Griffith and Banderas met on the set of the 1995 romantic comedy Two Much. They later worked together in the 1999 film Crazy in Alabama, which was directed by Banderas.

    According to E! Online, the divorce judgment divides the actors’ share of profits from numerous films, including several movies in the Shrek franchise. Banderas must also pay Griffin $65,000 per month in spousal support, which amounts to $780,000 per year in spousal support until Griffin remarries or either party dies.

    The couple announced plans to divorce in June 2014, saying in a joint statement: “”We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost twenty years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together – Melanie & Antonio”

    Since then Banderas has said that he hopes the couple will remain close despite the breakup.

    “I want — and I think she does, too — to maintain a relationship because we have spent many years together,” Banderas, who has an 18-year-old daughter with Griffith, said in an interview earlier in the year. “I would like to maintain a relationship, and it is happening, I speak with her every other day.”

    The marriage was Griffith’s fourth and Banderas’ second.

    The mystery date of Antonio Banderas at a club in Saint Tropez has finally been revealed. The 54-year-old Spanish actor is dating Dutch investment consultant Nicole Kempel, also known as the leggy blonde he went home with after dancing at the L’Opera restaurant on August 16.

    Banderas was also spotted with Kempel at various events during the Cannes Film Festival in May. The couple has been discreetly dating, but Kempel is not the reason behind the split between Banderas and actor Melanie Griffith, according to Spanish magazine Hola!

    Griffith is apparently happy about moving on as she was spotted in Hollywood Hills on Thursday viewing a five-bedroom house worth $5.6 million. The 57-year-old actress has also been hitting the gym recently, looking slim in a gray short-sleeved T-shirt and cropped gray and white yoga pants.

    Banderas and Griffith are expected to set their differences aside soon to work together despite the divorce in order to promote their upcoming film, Automata. The film is a sci-fi thriller about robots that Banderas produced and will be released on October 10.

    “He is really in love with her. He comes to France to visit her when he can, and they already went for a ten-day vacation together in secret,” the source told Radar.

    The couple — and Griffith — have been trying desperately to keep the relationship on the low-down as Banderas and Griffith hash out the details of their divorce.

    “Only her closest family and friends knew,” the source said of Griffith. “They were hiding everything from everybody because Melanie got a very good divorce lawyer, and I think he was hoping to keep it under wraps until the end of the divorce.”

    However, Banderas and Kempel couldn’t keep their love secret for long. They were reportedly spotted partying it up together in St. Tropez last month, and later hiking in Ferrat, France, on August 28.

    Other sources told Hola! magazine that Kempel was not the reason for his split from Griffith, but admitted that the Spanish actor “is in love with her.”

    In June, Banderas and Griffith announced they were separating after 18 years of marriage, telling Us Weekly in a joint statement: “We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost 20-year marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family, and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together.”

    “There was no cheating on either side,” a source told Us at the time, “They had fallen out of love awhile ago.”

    According to Female First, Griffith is excited about the opportunities ahead and the plain fact that she can spend more time on herself, “Over the last years, I’ve devoted myself to my family, and that was it. But now, I’m completely free. So I’m determinate to do only what I want from now on, and no one is going to stop me.”

    The actress also told IndieWire, “My kids are almost grown. I’m getting divorced. I’m just happy.” She added, “I’m really joyful. Life is good.”

    This was Griffith’s fourth marriage, to three different men. She was previously married to actor Don Johnson (twice) and also to Steven Bauer for five years. Griffith and Banderas have a 17-year-old daughter named Stella.

    The couple cited irreconcilable differences in the divorce petition. Part of their agreement was that neither party speak publicly about the details concerning their separation. Banderas told the Spanish website Vanitatis, “I have an agreement with Melanie, a pact. We have agreed to not talk or comment our divorce at all. That’s our deal and, therefore, I’m not going to say a thing about her.”

    Griffith is currently out promoting a short film called Thirst. The 25-minute-story features the actress playing a depressed, alcoholic prostitute named Sue. The role was a personal one for Griffith who has struggled with alcohol and drug abuse, “I had a reputation with people in my industry as being a wild child, being a drug addict and an alcoholic.     Antonio Banderas seems to be just a page from the past for Melanie Griffith, who is not wasting too much time mourning the divorce from her husband of 18 years.

    Instead, the Working Girl actress is focused on “finding great work and having a good time.”

    “My kids are almost grown. I’m getting divorced. I’m just happy,” she told IndieWire. “I’m really joyful. Life is good.”

    Griffith, 56, has got some great gigs lined up in the future. In January, she’ll open on Broadway in the reboot of Pippen. She has a comedy in the works with Bob Saget, and she is promoting Thirst, a short film in which she plays an alcoholic prostitute.

    The not-so-heartbroken actress says playing a worn-out alcoholic in Thirst was a cathartic experience — one that has helped her turn the page on the past.

    “When I read the story for Thirst, I loved it, because I’m an alcoholic. I don’t drink anymore, but I did. So that really attracted me to it because I wanted to play that kind of part,” said Griffith.

    “I had a reputation with people in my industry as being a wild child, being a drug addict and an alcoholic,” she continued. “After being sober for five years, this part comes along and felt like if I could act it out and do it — not for anyone else, just for me — to do that harsh of a life of an alcoholic, I would be able to get it out. I found it difficult to watch myself the first time, because I went, ‘Oh my God, I look so old!’ Stupid s**t like that. Then the next time I watched it, I cried, because I could separate myself from myself and look at the story.”

    One thing she won’t be looking forward to is watching her daughter, Dakota Johnson, in 50 Shades of Grey. Dakota told Griffith and her dad, Don Johnson, she didn’t feel comfortable having her parents see her in the risqué film.

    “I have not seen 50 Shades of Grey,” said Griffith. “I don’t think I’m going to see it…[Dakota] was like, “You guys cannot come. There’s no way.” So we’re not going. I did go visit for a couple of days when they were shooting just normal stuff. I did see the Room of Pain – I did go in there and check it out.”

    Melanie Griffith had a rather unique way of letting her ex know Tuesday that she is moving on — by covering up a tattoo that reads “Antonio” with a bandage over the ink with another name that is becoming the focus of her life in the wake of a painful breakup.

    The 56-year-old actress covered the arm tattoo with a bandage with her name “Mel” written on the coverup. The bandage lines up nicely with the heart of the original tattoo peeking out from beneath the patch.

    Or maybe she’s just trying to quit smoking.

    In any case, she does seem to be moving on. She has a slight smile on her face in the pics as she runs some errands around town.

    Reportedly, the Working Girl actress has been in the process of removing the famous tattoo. Sadly, the permanent sign of the love she once felt for her estranged husband has been the center of attention ever since news of the breakup was announced earlier this summer.

    The famous May-December couple announced the dissolution of their marriage in a joint statement:

    “We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost twenty years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together – Melanie & Antonio.”

    The 56-year-old actress recently parted ways with Antonio Banderas. Griffith was married to the 53-year-old actor for eighteen years. Unfortunately after nearly two decades together, the romance went south.

    The couple released a joint statement regarding their amicable split in June:

    Although Griffith may not be publicly bitter about the divorce, she seems to be very much over her former flame. The actress has engaged in a series of tattoo removal procedures to be rid of her “Antonio” tattoo.

    A recent photo of the actress showed her out and about with a bandage over the tattoo.

    It was also apparent that her former beau’s name was getting lighter and lighter.

    As of now the name “Antonio” is no longer visible, though it appears that Griffith might keep the rest of the heart-shaped tattoo.

    Could Griffith be making the space available for a future love interest? Possibly.

    However if the actress is wise, she’ll forget about a new name on her arm to signal a new romance.

    Many tattoo-happy individuals will forgo tattooing anyone but “Mom” on them as the decision is actually seen as a kiss of death, almost guaranteeing the relationship will end in a separation.     This is a prime example of why it is suggested that you not have your lover’s name tattooed on your body.

    Earlier this year, Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas announced that they would be getting a divorce after many years of marriage.

    “We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost twenty years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together – Melanie & Antonio,” the couple said in a statement in early June 2014.

    Now it looks as though Melanie is moving on and adjusting to life without Antonio by her side. Griffith has long sported a heart-shaped tattoo on her right arm with her now ex-husband’s name written inside of it. Shortly after their separation, Melanie was seen at an event with the tattoo completely intact, however over recent weeks, onlookers have noticed the tattoo gradually fading.

    On Monday, July 7, Melanie was seen out-and-about with a white bandage covering her right bicep, sparking speculation that she had recently undergone another removal session. An insider revealed that Griffith entered the Smile Skin Care salon in California without the bandage, and later emerged with it.

    A source close to the couple explained that their decision to separate was due to lack of love in the relationship, not cheating. “There was no cheating on either side,” the source said. “They had fallen out of love awhile ago. Their daughter Stella is about to be 18 in September and they wanted to wait until [the] kids were grown and out of the house before they split up, but knew they would awhile ago.     Melanie Griffith will be fighting for £40 million during her divorce battle against Antonio Banderas. The ex-couple will be fighting over their properties, as well as custody of their 17-year-old daughter Stella, and their three dogs. Griffith is also seeking spousal support for life.

    Griffith and Banderas have homes, commercial buildings, and restaurants located across Europe and America. A source said that Griffith wants half of all the properties.

    Amidst all the divorce talk, a Brazilian woman is claiming that she was seduced by Banderas even before Griffith filed for divorce.

    The woman said that Banderas was very welcoming, friendly, and charming during their encounter. She said that the conversation she had with Banderas was intimate and that the actor was obviously flirting with her. “The conversation got hot when he started telling me how he hosts sex parties at his house!” the woman said.

    The woman, who has requested not to be named, said that the incident happened during a party at Griffith and Banderas’ villa in Los Angeles.

    “He told me ‘When the sun comes up I would see naked women around the pool and the empty Cristal Champagne bottles around the pool,’” she said. The woman also said that she feels sorry for Griffith.

    A source also said that Griffith’s friends think that Banderas has been with more than a dozen women.

    Griffith filed for divorce on June 6, just a few days after photos of Banderas with another woman were released by The Enquirer. The couple had been together for 18 years.

    According to the woman, Banderas’ advances did not result in anything. However, she said that since Banderas has an image of being a “bad boy,” she doubts that she was the first woman he invited to his sex parties. “To do that in his house under Melanie’s nose is just so, so wrong,” she said.

    Griffith and Banderas have been through a lot together. Griffith was admitted to rehab thrice for alcohol and drug addiction, and she also underwent surgery for skin cancer.

    On Saturday, Griffith was seen in public for the first time after filing for divorce. She was driving a black Bentley in Malibu, and she looked a bit pensive and worn out. Reports also said that a bouquet of pink flowers was delivered to her home.

    A close friend of Griffith’s said that there were no clues that she was planning to file for divorce when she attended the AFI Life Achievement Award gala on Thursday. “They’ve been down this road before but I never though it would actually happen,” the friend said.

    When Griffith attended the gala, she was holding Eva Longoria’s hand and was still wearing her wedding band.

    This is Griffith’s fourth divorce. She was married twice to actor and recording artist Don Johnson, and was also married to actor Steve Bauer. It is the second divorce for Banderas.

    Although no specific reason was said to have prompted the divorce, several news outlets have reported possible reasons. According to Yahoo! Celebrity, an insider close to the couple reportedly explained that they’d been drifting for years now.

    “Melanie and Antonio have had issues for a long time. They used to be so affectionate with each other, but more recently they’ve been drifting apart,” the insider explained.

    Then, another source actually edified those details by adding that the marriage was only an arrangement of convenience. “There’s been an arrangement in their marriage, for some time, to stay together despite their problems, because of the children and his Catholic religious beliefs. They have worked hard to keep this split as amicable as possible.”

    This is a curious request; their teen daughter will be legally an adult in a matter of months.
