It’s a big time for Hathaway, as she’s nearing her due date with her first child with husband Adam Shulman.

A few weeks ago Hathaway decided to share a pregnant bikini pic on Instagram, preempting the tabloids.

“So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed. I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter,” she wrote.

  • Anne Hathaway Rocks Maternity Mini on L.A. Art Show Red Carpet

Anne Hathaway walked her first red carpet since announcing in November that she and husband Adam Shulman are expecting their first baby.

Decked out in a Marc Jacons mini-dress and Miu Miu high heels, Hathaway’s baby bump was on full display on Wednesday, as she strutted her stuff on the red carpet at the L.A. Art Show and Los Angeles Fine Art Show’s 2016 opening night premiere party. All proceeds from the evening’s event benefitted St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Impending motherhood looks good on Anne Hathaway. She credits her recent “wellness kick” for at least a portion of her healthy glow.

A source tells E! News the Devil Wears Prada star has kept both “healthy and active” during her pregnancy.

“She is taking it easy, though, as much as she can,” the source adds.

Anne Hathaway’s pregnancy isn’t simply a source of excitement, it has served to strengthen her marriage, too.

“Adam has been really helpful and is so excited on the baby,” the source says. “Adam and Anne are doing great as a couple and this whole baby process is a bonding experience for them both.”

Anne Hathaway most recently appeared on the big screen alongside Robert De Niro in The Intern. Her and Adam Shulman’s baby is due this spring.

  • Anne Hathaway Sticks Up For Jennifer Lawrence Following Golden Globes Backlash

Anne Hathaway is standing up for fellow actress Jennifer Lawrence following the social media backlash against the Hunger Games actress.

Hathaway, who has had her own dealings with on-line criticism, took to Facebook to defend Lawrence after she was accused of being “rude” to a reporter at the Golden Globes.

“Dear the Internet, It’s become pretty clear that the Jennifer Lawrence ‘scolding’ was taken out of context and that she was dryly joking with a journalist who was indeed using his phone to take photos of her,” Hathaway wrote on Facebook.

“Let’s not continue the sad but common practice of building people — especially women — up just to viciously tear them down when we perceive them to have misstepped,” she continued. “Jennifer is a beautiful, talented, wildly successful, popular, FOUR TIME OSCAR NOMINATED young woman.”

“Please let us not punish her for these things,” the Alice Through the Looking Glass actress, who signed her post “A J-Law Fan,” concluded.

The post came after Jennifer was called out for telling a reporter to refrain from hiding behind his mobile phone.

“You can’t live your whole life behind your phone, bro,” Lawrence told the reporter. “You gotta live in the now.”

After he apologised, the reporter went on to ask about the Academy Awards when Lawrence interrupted him.

“We’re at the Golden Globes,” said Lawrence. “If you put your phone down you’d know that.”

In the meantime, Lawrence released a statement after being nominated for the best actress Oscar for her role in Joy.

“I am beyond grateful and humbled by this nomination,” said the 25-year-old Oscar-winner. “I feel incredibly honored to be recognized among the other amazing women in this category.”

She continued: “Joy is an incredibly inspiring story about an ordinary woman who does extraordinary things. For me, working with David O. Russell has been nothing short of extraordinary, and I share this nomination with him as well as our incredible supporting cast. I could not be more proud to be a part of this film and thankful to the producers and Fox for their unyielding support.”

  • Anne Hathaway, Husband Adam Shulman Expecting Their First Child

Anne Hathaway and husband Adam Shulman have much to be thankful for this year.

According to E! News, the Oscar winner and Shulman are expecting their first child together.

“Anne is in her second trimester and feeling great,” a source told E!.

The site also shared a photo of Hathaway’s reported baby bump.

Hathaway, 33, and Shulman, a 34-year-old jewelry designer, were married in September 2012. Not long after the two were married, Hathaway told The Hollywood Reporter that she was looking forward to starting a family.

“I hope to join the ranks soon,” she told the site.

Page Six reported in May that a staff member at the eatery Harry Cipriani mistakenly thought she was already a momma and told the Les Miserables actress that “next time, you’ll have to bring in the little one!

Anne Hathaway reportedly joked back that she’d only be able to bring her “little one” if the restaurant allowed her to bring her dog, since she did not yet have any children.

  • Anne Hathaway, Adam Shulman Expecting First Child

Anne Hathaway is pregnant. She and hubby Adam Shulman are expecting their first child.

It was back in September of 2012 that Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman tied the not, following four years of dating. Hathaway stated not long after that she wanted a big family.

“I’ll start with one healthy kid but I’d like to have a few naturally and adopt. I gotta get on it, you know?” she said at the time during an interview with The Telegraph. “I’d like to have as many as I can afford, not just financially but in terms of time, because you want to make sure each one feels special.”

“I want to be a mother, and I anticipate loving my children quite fiercely,” Anne Hathaway said about a year later in an interview with Vogue magazine.

“I think about it all the time, though it’s a silly thing to think about because the kind of mother I’ll be depends on the kind of children I have. I can’t wait to meet them,” she shared.

Anne Hathaway is known for several film successes including The Princess Bride films, Brokeback Mountain, The Devil Wears Prada, and Interstellar.

Within a few months, Anne Hathaway will be known as “Mom.”

  • Diane Kruger Latest Jared Leto Photobombing Victim

Diane Kruger is the latest victim to fall prey to Jared Leto’s photobombing skills. The Suicide Squad actor photobombed Kruger as she posed for pictures at LACMA’s 2015 Art+Film Gala on Saturday.

Attending the event with her partner, Joshua Jackson, Diane Kruger posted the shot–and a message to Jared Leto–via her Instagram account.

“Just you wait, I’ll get you back f…..? @jaredleto,” she captioned it.

Diane Kruger stunned at the event. Sporting two shades of bright blue, the actress wore an asymetrical strapless top with a train, and blue satin pants.

Her photobomber was handsome, as always, in his black tux jacket, black pants, and a red satin shirt. Jared Leto’s shirt matched his hair, which was dyed the same shade of red.

Diane Kruger isn’t the only victim of Jared Leto’s antics. He has also photobombed Ireland Baldwin, Anne Hathway, and Kevin Spacey at different events.

Fortunately for Jared Leto, Diane Kruger and the rest of his victims have excellent senses of humor.

Anna Hathaway Honors Fellow People’s Choice Award Nominees With #TBT Collage of Their High School Pics

Anne Hathaway honored her friends and fellow People’s Choice Award nominees in her latest Throwback Thursday post by posting their high school pictures in a cute collage for Instagram.

“Uh, they were even cute in high school. Very proud to be nominated with these women for this year’s @peopleschoice award for favorite movie actress! #pcas,” Hathaway wrote on Instagram.

The evening is proving to be slated as a powerful statement to these powerful women.

Sandra Bullock, 51, and Scarlett Johansson, 30, have other nominations in Favorite Animated Movie Voice and Favorite Action Movie Actress, respectively, while Melissa McCarthy, 45, leads this A-list pack with two other nominations for Favorite Comedic Actress and Favorite Comedic Movie Actress.

  • Anne Hathaway To Star In A Huge Sci-Fi Monster Movie Alongside Dan Stevens

Anne Hathaway is set to star in a sci-fi monster film, Colossal.

Hathaway has been cast alongside Jason Sudeikis, Tim Blake Nelson, and Austin Stowell, who recently appeared in Steven Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies. The latest to join the cast is former Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens. Stevens’ publicist confirmed the news to EW.

The film was written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo, and follows the story of a young woman, portrayed by Hathaway, who went back to her hometown after losing her job and breaking up with her boyfriend.

When a huge monster appears in Seoul, South Korea, Hathaway’s character feels an odd, yet strong connection to it. Stevens will play opposite Hathaway as her ex-boyfriend who tries to win back her love after dumping him. He appeared in the remake of the Disney fairytale Beauty and the Beast as the titular Beast alongside Emma Watson, and starred in the indie thriller film, The Guest.

Colossal is going to be Vigalondo’s biggest movie project to date. He is best known for mixing popular movie concepts into his indie films Open Windows and Timecrime. Timecrime is a horror film mixed with the concept of time travel. In his film Extraterrestrial, he played with the romantic-comedy genre and added an alien invasion twist.

The film will feature a huge creature similar to those featured in successful monster movies like Godzilla. There is little information about the movie and there has been no news of possible release dates but reports claim Colossal is filming in Vancouver despite a looming lawsuit filed by the copyright holder of Godzilla. The said lawsuit filed in May accuses Vigalondo and Voltage Pictures for “copyright and trademark infringement, federal trademark dilution, violation of the Lanham Act, and unjust enrichment,” according to EW.

Nevertheless, Hathaway in a sci-fi/monster film is something to look forward to.

  • Anne Hathaway: Anna Kendrick Pokes Fun At Oscar Acceptance Quip

Anne Hathaway was far from the street when Anna Kendrick participated in a recent episode of Billy on the Street.

Billy Eichner found a gem in Anna Kendrick when she was invited to play a little game called “What Does Katy Perry’s Cat Care About?”

The loud and…um, active…Billy Eichner pummeled Anna Kendrick with several questions on a 60-second timer about Katy Perry’s cat, Kitty Purry.

The questions had nothing to do with Anne Hathaway, whom Kitty Purry would clearly not care about.

Questions were, for example, does she care about Katy Perry’s breakup with John Mayer?

    That would be a no.

It's come to this. Blanket cape. FASHION WEEK.

A photo posted by Anna Kendrick (@annakendrick47) on

Does she care about Katy Perry’s performance at the Super Bowl?

    No again.

Then he led into questions like, does she care about wet cat food?

    Um, yes.

    Dry cat food? Yes, absolutely.

Noises and whether they’re worth investigating? You get the point.

However, the most notable moment of the game came at the end when Anna Kendrick won the game and took home the prize: Lupita Nyong’o’s apostrophe.

Anna Kendrick after making sure she doesn’t need it anymore, said, “It came true.”

That quip was a reference to Anne Hathaway’s 2013 Oscar win for Les Miserables. She began with the exact same phrase.

Billy Eichner got it and loved it.

What did you think about Anna Kendrick’s passive insult to Anne Hathaway?

  • Anne Hathaway Is Pretty Particular About Her Eggs, Reportedly

Anne Hathaway wants a properly poached egg, and she wants it now. Or at least before it gets cold.

The news rocking the web today comes from the Paramount Lot, where Anne Hathaway is apparently filming a commercial.

And she’s hungry. Probably still hungry, because by the time her breakfast nightmare was over she probably just gave up on food altogether. I know I would.

According to TMZ, Hathaway sent back her breakfast not one, not two, not three, but an incredible four times. Unbelievable.

All she wanted was a poached egg, an english muffin, and an avocado. How hard can it be?

    From TMZ:

1st try: Poached egg too runny.

2nd try: English muffin was cold because it sat while egg #2 was being poached.

3rd try: Egg #2 cold because it sat while chef toasted muffin #2.

4th try: Egg, muffin and avocado were perfect, but it took so long she decided she was in the mood for a fried egg.

    The horror.

Anne Hathaway’s new movie is The Intern, with Robert De Niro. We’ll be anxious to hear of any breakfast drama from that set.

  • Anne Hathaway Says Negotiating Salaries Is Different Because She’s a Woman

Anne Hathaway is now another name on the list of those women on Hollywood who say they are discriminated against when it comes to pay.

Anne Hathaway told People Magazine that, generally speaking, she does not feel poorly-treated as a woman, but there are some differences.

“Thankfully I don’t feel like I’ve ever been treated any differently because I’m a woman, but I do see it reflected in the type of roles that I’m offered, [and] when negotiating salaries it comes up,” Hathaway says.

Anne Hathaway continued, “And when you just look at the landscape, when you hear the statistic that only 30 percent of speaking roles in all films are women, you just go: ‘Okay, well, there’s so much more room for improvement there. So I think things are probably better than they ever have been, but there’s still many miles to go before we can call ourselves equal.”

Amanda Seyfriend has noticed the pay disparity just like Anne Hathaway has. Earlier this year, Amanda Seyfried was furious when she found out how much she was getting short-changed.

“A few years ago, on one of my big-budget films, I found I was being paid 10 percent of what my male costar was getting,” Seyfried told the Sunday Times. “And we were pretty even in status.”

Amanda Seyfried sees this kind of uneven work area as ridiculous.

“I think people think that just because I’m easygoing and game to do things, I’ll just take as little as they offer,” Seyfried said. “It’s not about how much you get, it’s about how fair it is.”

Seyfried’s friend and co-star Lizzy Caplan says that one would think there would not be that kind of inequality in a business like film nowadays, where female execs are on the rise.

“I mean, (look at) wage inequality even in our business, which is supposed to be this progressive side of things,” Caplan said. “I mean, it’s insane and it really pisses me off. I could go on a really hardcore feminist rant right now, but I’m not going to do that.”

Charlize Theron used the information learned from leaked Sony emails to get an equal asking price as her male co-star Chris Hemsworth for Snow White and the Huntsman.

“I thought about the temperature out there – with finding out what Jennifer [Lawrence] and Amy [Adams] were being paid on a set with guy actors who are their counterparts … They’re just as good as any of the guys on there,” Theron said. “Yeah, that pissed me off.”

Anne Hathaway is a hotly sought-after name nowadays, but Jennifer Lawrence is still the top earner. But even Lawrence is a victim of the female pay disparity difference.

  • Anne Hathaway And Robert De Niro Shine In “The Intern”, See The Trailer

Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro make amazing counterparts in a new heartwarming comedy, The Intern.

Anne Hathaway stars as a young fashion executive who started a company that has grown exponentially, and with it, the stress of running it.

Robert De Niro is a 70-year-old retiree looking for a new purpose.

As the movie follows Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro, they become necessary to each other’s existence.

    Watch the trailer:

By the end of the trailer, Anne Hathaway admits to his character, “The truth is, something about you makes me feel calm. More centered or something. I could use that, obviously.”

The movie also stars Andrew Rannells, Pitch Perfect‘s Adam DeVine, Nat Wolff and Rene Russo as the office masseuse.

At the end of last month, Anne Hathaway went to the movies, herself.

Anne Hathaway treated herself to a night out to see the Judd Apatow movie, Trainwreck, which stars Amy Schumer.

That’s when Anne Hathaway found out she was the brunt of a joke in the movie.

In Trainwreck, Amy Schumer accuses her boyfriend, played by Bill Hader, for acting like Anne Hathaway on Oscar night when he wins a charity award.

Anne Hathaway posted a response to the joke on Instagram with a photo of her movie ticket.

What an amazingly great reaction to being the brunt of a joke!

What do you think about Anne Hathaway’s new movie with Robert De Niro? Will you be going to see it?

  • Anne Hathaway: Sorry, “Princess Diaries 3” Isn’t Happening

Anne Hathaway won’t be reprising her role as Mia Thermopolis, nor will anyone else.

Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews shined in the first two movies, but sorry superfans. A third just isn’t going to happen right now.

In the last couple of days, rumors swirled that a Princess Diaries 3 was in the works and that Anne Hathaway may or may not be involved.

Twitter lit up with fans of Anne Hathaway and her character, Mia Thermopolis, rejoicing.

Unfortunately, those rumors were put to rest yesterday when a source close to Disney told EW that Princess Diaries 3 is not in development right now.

But, not to worry, you dedicated fans of Anne Hathaway and Princess Diaries. Don’t give up hope.

That doesn’t mean they’ll never make one.

Back in 2012, Julie Andrews was asked if she thought another Princess Diaries would be possible and if Anne Hathaway would be involved.

She said, “That’s a good question. I would never say no because Disney’s so wonderfully clever and inventive, but I would think they’ll stay with just the two because of Annie.”

So, Anne Hathaway may not be involved, but a reboot is possible.

After all, there were many books in the Princess Diaries series, which was written by Meg Cabot.

    We shall see!

What do you think? If you were in charge of the next Princess Diaries, would you cast Anne Hathaway as an older Mia or would you do a reboot?

  • Anne Hathaway: Will There Be A Third “Princess Diaries”?

Anne Hathaway’s possible return to portray Mia Thermopolis in a new Princess Diaries has the internet in an uproar.

Anne Hathaway first played the role back in 2001 and subsequently won a huge fanbase among tween girls and their mothers.

The second one, 2004’s Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, again starred Anne Hathaway and helped bring Chris Pine into the limelight.

Now, chatter about a new Princess Diaries has fans rejoicing.

Disney hasn’t confirmed that the project is even going to happen, but a rumor is enough for many.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01_zbBdrPe8

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWJ_Sg92epA

Now, the next question is, should there be a sequel, will Anne Hathaway be playing the lead?

Back in 2012, Anne Hathaway’s co-star in the Princess Diaries movies, Julie Andrews, weighed in on just such a scenario.

She told Access Hollywood, “I would never say no because Disney’s so wonderfully clever and inventive, but I would think they’ll stay with just the two because of Annie.”

It really would be hard to picture anyone but Anne Hathaway in the role.

What do you think? If you were making the movie and Anne Hathaway wasn’t a choice, who would you cast?

  • Anna Wintour: Why She Doesn’t Attend Met Gala After Parties

Anna Wintour visited Late Night With Seth Meyers earlier this week, and chatted with host Seth Meyers about the Met Gala. The Vogue editor-in-chief dished about different celebrities and what they wore to the big event, and even dished on why she doesn’t partake in a tradition after the big evening.

Wintour touched on Anne Hathway’s gold lame Ralph Lauren gown.

“I thought she looked amazing,” Wintour said of the actress who once played a character inspired by the editor’s assistant in The Devil Wears Prada. “I have to admit I was slightly confused by the China reference, but I did my research and I found out that Anne and Ralph Lauren had actually based this dress on a modern Chinese artist, whose work features hip-hop artists and people wearing hoodies. So there you go, it’s brilliant!”

Anna Wintour had very positive things to say about Justin Bieber–even after Seth Meyers said his custom Balmain blazer paired with an asymmetrical button-down shirt, a black cummerbund, and black trousers looked funny.

“Now come on, Seth,” she said. “This was actually one of my favorites. These are all Chinese dragons and apparently that’s aged gold bullion thread… as it should be.”

So what tradition regarding the Met Gala does Anna Wintour forgo?

She doesn’t go to the after parties.

“I don’t go to the after parties,” she shared. “I think people always feel if I go to the after parties, they have to behave well, which, after all, is not the point of an after party. So, Rihanna and Lady Gaga were the hosts of the after parties. I retire with George Clooney.”

Speaking of George Clooney–Anna Wintour said he could where anything he wanted becaause “he has Amal on his arm and he’s George Clooney–he doesn’t have to wear anything.”

She makes a very good point. George Clooney doesn’t have to wear a thing.

Are you surprised by Anna Wintour’s reason behind not attending the after parties? That almost makes her seem approachable–doesn’t it?

Wintour definitely seem approachable on Late Night With Seth Meyers. In fact, the Vogue editor-in-chief was really very funny.

  • Anne Hathaway: All That Glitters? What Was She Wearing at Met Gala?

Anne Hathaway begs the question is all that glitters really gold? She wore a lot of the color at the Met Gala–in the form of a dress with a strange hood and gold heels, too. It’s likely worth mentioning that Anne Hathaway also carried a gold clutch and accessorized with gold earrings as well.

The Ralph Lauren number was a custom gold lame column evening dress. It had a definite sci-fi feel. Or maybe it was ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ done up in gold. Perhaps it was a bad combination of the two.

“I kind of feel like I’m from the Deco future,” she said on the red carpet.

The Princess Diaries star was accompanied by her husband, Adam Shulman. He wore Ralph Lauren, too, but fortunately his was a Black Label white dinner jacket paired with black tuxedo pants and black velvet slippers by the same designer. There wasn’t a speck of gold on the man–and that’s a good thing, too. Anne Hathaway glowed enough for both of them.

If that take isn’t quite enough gold for your liking, check out Anne Hathaway from head to toe instead.

This year’s Met Gala theme was China. Do you see much about that dress that screams ‘China?’

What’s your take on the ensemble Ralph Lauren designed for Anne Hathaway for the Met Gala? Do you think she was celebrating Star Wars day instead of the Chinese theme? Did she (or Ralph Lauren) get their messages crossed?

  • Anne Hathaway Turns Heads With Gold Dress At Met Gala

Anne Hathaway literally shined at this year’s Met Gala.

The Interstellar actress attended the gala rocking a gold dress that seemed more Jedi than East Asia.

It was easy to see why a lot of people thought she was paying homage to the Star Wars universe instead of the Asian continent.

After all, it was May 4th, which is unofficially known as Star Wars day.

Plus, the long, shiny, metallic gold gown with the matching hood looks like something a Jedi knight would wear.

Except for the color, that is. Jedi knights usually go for a more casual, blend-into-the environment look.

The actress even seemed to affirm her gown’s sci-fi inspiration when she told reporters on the red carpet that “I kind of feel like I’m from the Deco future.”

But whether or not Hathaway was just acting out her dream of being a Jedi, she did stand-out in an occasion when celebrities are known to don out-of-this world garments.

The long, cap-sleeved gown skimmed her slender figure and the hood perfectly framed her flawless face. She completed her look with a gold clutch and large gold earrings.

The dress also had a slit that reached up to the actress’ thighs, so some leg action was evident as she walked up the red carpet. Her feet were encased in simple, metallic high heels.

The gala’s theme this year was China: Through the Looking Glass and it explores the way Chinese aesthetics have been interpreted in the West.

Rich Chinese costumes and decorative arts are displayed beside the work of designers like John Galliano, Ralph Lauren, Jean Paul Gaultier and others who have been inspired by the Oriental country.

The event, which is chaired by Vogue’s Anna Wintour, was also different this year in more ways than one.

Aside from the exhibit being three times bigger than the previous years, there have been reports that a social media ban was also put in place.

  • Anne Hathaway To Take On Role Of Female Fighter Pilot

Anne Hathaway will once again tackle a seriously difficult role, this time for the stage, and will be playing a female fighter pilot whose job description changes a bit once she finds out she’s pregnant.

Hathaway has reportedly signed on to star in the off-Broadway production of Grounded, where she will go from pilot to drone operator during the course of the one-woman play. Director Julie Taymor says they both did extensive research before taking it on, with Hathaway meeting with real fighter pilots to learn from them.

“In October I saw Anne in L.A. November to February, we did homework. Investigating, learning, talking to pilots. She visited fighter bases… It’s a warfare issue. The project’s powerful, timely, provocative,” Taymor says.

Taymor also told Page Six that the subject of the play was shocking to her once she started doing research.

“Who knew they’d sit 12 hours in a base manipulating cameras that fly over places like Yemen? Surveilling American citizens? Examining daily life? Targeting for six months half a world away? Next, moving off those planes that do the photographing, they lock onto another area? Who knew all that? Reading the play shocked me. Remote-control drones are right over our heads. Insufficient information’s being put out. Weddings have been bombed. Our world’s not listening. Not paying attention,” she said.

Hathaway has been making headlines in the past week with her performances on Lip Sync Battle, most notably when she performed to the Miley Cyrus hit “Wrecking Ball” dressed as the provocative star and took a running leap to jump onto an actual wrecking ball over the stage, giving her opponent, Emily Blunt, the finger as she did so.

  • Anne Hathaway Wrecks Emily Blunt On “Lip Sync Battle”

Anne Hathaway Wrecks Emily Blunt On “Lip Sync Battle”

Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt duked it out on Thursday night’s episode of Lip Sync Battle.

At first, things were pretty intense with the trash talk and gestures flying between Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.

In fact, they both put on a great show, with Anne Hathaway rolling out a great performance of Mary J. Blige’s “Love” against Emily Blunt’s rendition of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity”. Both rather impressive.

Then in the second round, Emily Blunt made a great effort with Janis Joplin’s “Break Another Piece of My Heart”.

But it wasn’t even close to being enough to bring down Anne Hathaway from her performance of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball”.

Will I let her win? No, shan't! #andyoveremily This Thursday, SpikeTV, 10/9c

With Anne Hathaway on an actual wrecking ball.

There just wasn’t any coming back from that for Emily Blunt. Anne Hathaway clearly had it.

In fact, the crowd immediately began chanting, “Hath-a-way! Hath-a-way!”

Anne Hathaway showed a side of herself that has never quite been seen before. Literally as well as figuratively.

Anne Hathaway then posted this on her Instagram:

The caption read, “So much respect to the original Girl on the Wrecking Ball. Keep being your fierce and gorgeous self Miley- love your light.”

Speaking of fierce, Anne Hathaway was all kinds of fierce.

  • Emily Blunt Gets Crushed By Anne Hathaway’s “Wrecking Ball” On “Lip Sync Battle”

Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway went head to head on Lip Sync Battle Thursday night.

Emily Blunt put up a great fight, including an impressive performance of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity”.

Anne Hathaway also made a great show with a crazy take on Mary J. Blige’s “Love”.

It was a close call up until Emily Blunt’s rendition of Janis Joplin’s “Take Another Piece of My Heart” went up against Anne Hathaway’s version of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball”.

Then it became clear that Emily Blunt absolutely must concede the win to Anne Hathaway.

Will I let her win? No, shan't! #andyoveremily This Thursday, SpikeTV, 10/9c

I mean, come on. Emily Blunt did amazing, but Anne Hathaway blew everyone away on that ball! That was almost too much.

Before Thursday night’s show, Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway had a hilarious promo in which Emily Blunt showcased the process of getting ready for battle.

In that one, Emily Blunt said, “I’ve been screaming at everybody pretty much all day, because I don’t want a voice. And I guarantee that Anne Hathaway is in full voice right now. You can’t use that here. Thanks, anyway.”

Emily Blunt also proceeded to say, “Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Cumberbatch….,” over and over to presumably prepare her annunciation skills.

Emily Blunt poked fun at Anne Hathaway’s secretive creative process and revealed that Hathaway had been taunting her, as well.

She said, “Finally she called me and said ‘Okay, listen, I’m doing “Beethoven’s 5th”.’ And I went, ‘There aren’t any words in that.’ And she just hung up.”

In one scene, Emily Blunt threatens Anne Hathaway, saying, “I’m going to pick up your feet and mop you.”

However, it was definitely Emily Blunt that was mopped.

I’m pretty sure Anne Hathaway would have beat Miley herself.

Emily Blunt says she got very “method” for her performance on Lip Sync Battle Thursday night and included her opponent, Anne Hathaway, with a sexy little lap dance.

Blunt chose the Blackstreet song “No Diggity” to act out, and she really had to bring it, because Hathaway almost broke the internet with her performance of the Miley Cyrus hit “Wrecking Ball” earlier this week. Hathaway dressed like Cyrus did in the video and, to the delight and surprise of the audience, took a running jump onstage and hopped astride a giant wrecking ball, turning around to give the finger to Blunt as she swung back and forth. Blunt said she used her voice as much as possible in preparation for her turn.

“I’ve been super method about it. I’ve been screaming at everybody pretty much all day because I don’t want a voice, and I guarantee Anne Hathaway is in full voice right now. She has a very secret process,” Blunt said.

Blunt and Hathaway–who worked together on The Devil Wears Prada–gave each other a little good-natured ribbing during the show, with Blunt pointing out that Hathaway–who did the song “Love” at the beginning of the night–used some “cheap” moves by shaking her hips onstage. She then took it a step further and did some grinding in her co-star’s lap as she sat to watch the performance.

Emily also took on an iconic singer during the night, performing “Piece Of My Heart” by Janis Joplin. The actress said she wasn’t going easy on herself because she came to win.

“This goddess that I’m about to portray out there, she’s pretty wild. She doesn’t take showers. But you know what? I live to give. This is art. This is going to stand the test of time,” she said.
