  • Ben Stiller Thanks Anna Wintour for Helping Make “Zoolander 2” Happen

Ben Stiller thanked Vogue editor Anna Wintour for helping make Zoolander 2 happen, at the film’s premiere on Tuesday.

“The first time around, we didn’t have the fashion world really aware of what we were doing,” Ben Stiller told the crowd–many of whom were from the fashion world–at the event.

“And Anna Wintour did put Derek Zoolander in Vogue, which was an amazing thing for Derek,” he joked. “And then, this time around, [she] was a huge part of making the movie happen, an incredible partner and supporter of the process of making the movie.”

It was Anna Wintour who coordinated Tuesday’s red carpet event ahead of the premiere. She enlisted models including Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, as well as celebrities including Jennifer Aniston and hubby Justin Theroux (Theroux co-wrote the Zoolander sequel). Justin Bieber was on the invitation list, but had to rehearse for the upcoming Grammy Awards instead.

Ben Stiller went on to praise Paramount CEO Brad Grey.

“It’s very easy to make a sequel to, like,Transformers,” Stiller said. “But it really takes real cojones to make a sequel to a movie that grossed so little money.”

The first Zoolander film was a box office flop.

Before heading in to the film’s premiere, Ben Stiller addressed his two kids.

“I just want you to know no matter what you see up there, I am still your father,” he said.

Are you surprised to learn that a comedy like Zoolander 2 has the support of someone like Anna Wintour?

Will you be checking out Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Penelope Cruz, and more when Zoolander 2 hits theaters nationwide this weekend?

  • Candice Swanepoel Takes Nosedive on Givenchy Runway, Bruises Knees and Ego

Candice Swanepoel took a less-than-graceful nosedive on the Givenchy runway at New York Fashion Week on Friday night. Fortunately for the Victoria’s Secret supermodel, she emerged from the event with bruised knees and a bit of a bruised ego. It could have been much worse.

It was her sky high heels that tripped up Candice Swanepoel, causing her to fall while strutting her stuff for the luxury French designer.

Trying to keep things light, Swanepoel bowed to the audience, then finished her walk past stars including Nicki Minaj, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and Anna Wintour.

It was via Instragram that Candice Swanepoel shared her fall from grace with her social media followers.

“Thank you to whoever picked me up off the runway tonight. Left with little scratches but mostly a bruised ego,” she captioned the photo.

Fortunately for Candice Swanepoel, she wasn’t the only model who face-planted on the Givenchy runway. Model Pooja Mor fell on the wooden stairs.

Unfortunately for both Pooja Mor and Candice Swanepoel, this Givenchy show boasted a huge celebrity presence since the designer didn’t have a catwalk during Paris Fashion Week.

Can you imagine how devastated both of these models must feel in light of their runway mishaps?

  • Anna Wintour Decodes the Baffling Met Gala Outfits for Us Simple Folks

Anna Wintour Decodes the Baffling Met Gala Outfits for Us Simple Folks

Anna Wintour is the Editor-in-Chief at Vogue Magazine. When celebrities trotted out their best at the Met Gala last week, the public looked on amused. We were impressed with some things, sure. But others seemed to go right over our heads. It took a pro like Anna Wontour to point out what was what so that we could understand what had happened.

For example, the joke was on all of us when Katie Holmes and her stylist teased that they were cutting her hair for the ball. She posted pics of what appeared to be her getting her gorgeous lock lopped. But we found out later that it was all a ruse. She wore a wig.

Still, we learned that her look was relevant to the them of the evening: “China: Through The Looking Glass.” Her style for the night was intended as an homage to Anna May Wong, a Chinese-American movie star.

We also saw Cara Delevingne all inked up. Seemingly permanent tattoos of plum red flowers with spiraling branches, birds and blossoms and covered Cara Delevingne’s arms and neck, peeking out from the cutouts of her jumpsuit and out from under her bun-up hair. These too were fake. But still fed into the theme of the evening.

Anna Wintour sat down with Seth Meyers to set the record straight on some of what went on at the Met Gala. She started off by addressing what some derided as a “hoodie” on Anne Hathaway.

“I thought she looked amazing,” Anna Wintour said of Hathaway. “I have to admit I was slightly confused by the China reference, but I did my research and I found out that Anne and Ralph Lauren had actually based this dress on a modern Chinese artist, whose work features hip-hop artists and people wearing hoodies. So there you go, it’s brilliant!”

Seth Meyers joked about Justin Bieber’s look for the evening: a custom Balmain blazer paired with an asymmetrical button-down shirt, a black cummerbund, and black trousers. But Anna Wintour set the record straight on that, as well.

“Now come on, Seth,” she said. “This was actually one of my favorites. These are all Chinese dragons and apparently that’s aged gold bullion thread… as it should be.”

Rihanna caught lots of jokes in her oversized yellow dress, including jibes about looking like a poured omelet.

“I really want to tell you about this dress,” Wintour told Meyers. “Rihanna is such a star. She surfed the Internet looking for this and this was designed by a famous, famous Chinese designer Guo Pei. It apparently took one Chinese person two years to make this dress. It’s a dress not to forget.”

As for George Clooney’s wear for the evening, she said it simply:

“He has Amal on his arm and he’s George Clooney — he doesn’t have to wear anything.”

  • Anna Wintour: Why She Doesn’t Attend Met Gala After Parties

Anna Wintour visited Late Night With Seth Meyers earlier this week, and chatted with host Seth Meyers about the Met Gala. The Vogue editor-in-chief dished about different celebrities and what they wore to the big event, and even dished on why she doesn’t partake in a tradition after the big evening.

Wintour touched on Anne Hathway’s gold lame Ralph Lauren gown.

“I thought she looked amazing,” Wintour said of the actress who once played a character inspired by the editor’s assistant in The Devil Wears Prada. “I have to admit I was slightly confused by the China reference, but I did my research and I found out that Anne and Ralph Lauren had actually based this dress on a modern Chinese artist, whose work features hip-hop artists and people wearing hoodies. So there you go, it’s brilliant!”

Anna Wintour had very positive things to say about Justin Bieber–even after Seth Meyers said his custom Balmain blazer paired with an asymmetrical button-down shirt, a black cummerbund, and black trousers looked funny.

“Now come on, Seth,” she said. “This was actually one of my favorites. These are all Chinese dragons and apparently that’s aged gold bullion thread… as it should be.”

So what tradition regarding the Met Gala does Anna Wintour forgo?

She doesn’t go to the after parties.

“I don’t go to the after parties,” she shared. “I think people always feel if I go to the after parties, they have to behave well, which, after all, is not the point of an after party. So, Rihanna and Lady Gaga were the hosts of the after parties. I retire with George Clooney.”

Speaking of George Clooney–Anna Wintour said he could where anything he wanted becaause “he has Amal on his arm and he’s George Clooney–he doesn’t have to wear anything.”

She makes a very good point. George Clooney doesn’t have to wear a thing.

Are you surprised by Anna Wintour’s reason behind not attending the after parties? That almost makes her seem approachable–doesn’t it?

Wintour definitely seem approachable on Late Night With Seth Meyers. In fact, the Vogue editor-in-chief was really very funny.

  • Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Not Deeply Tasteful Says Vogue Editor

While Kim Kardashian’s Paper magazine shoot made the news, the celebrity was also featured on another controversial cover a while back. Kardashian and her then-fiancé Kanye West appeared on the April cover of Vogue magazine. And while the photos were actually quite tame, the inclusion of West and Kardashian in the prestigious magazine was not deemed tasteful by some readers. Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue, recently gave a talk at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. During the talk, she candidly discussed the reasons why she chose West and Kardashian for the cover.

“I think if we just remain deeply tasteful and just put deeply tasteful people on the cover, it would be a rather boring magazine,” Wintour, who has been Vogue’s EIC since 1988, explained. “Nobody would talk about us. It’s very important that people do talk about us.” And to her credit, people did talk about them. Some even claimed that West begged for the couple to be included on the cover, however, Wintour denied these claims. “He did nothing of the sort. The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn’t true,” she said in an interview with US Weekly back in March.

While Wintour may have implied that West and Kardashian are not “deeply tasteful”, she also delivered another subtle backhanded compliment during her talk. “I hope another Kim Kardashian comes along this year!”

Wintour also compared the controversy behind the West-Kardashian shoot to the time when she chose Madonna to appear on the cover of the magazine. She said, “The first celebrity that I put on the cover of Vogue was Madonna, and that was considered completely controversial at the time too. It’s such a long time ago probably no one remembers, but she was a very controversial figure. Now she’s part of the establishment.”

  • Anna Wintour Remembers Oscar De La Renta

Anna Wintour Remembers Oscar De La Renta

Oscar de la Renta passed away earlier this week after a long battle with cancer.

He was remembered by most of the world as an amazing designer, but those who were close to him remember him as an amazing friend who was very kind and just as funny.

Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour worked with Oscar de la Renta for many years and knew him on both a professional and personal level. She wrote a piece about de la Renta on Vogue.com and described their close relationship.

“He always said ‘Accept your friends for who they are, not for who you want them to be,’” Wintour wrote of de la Renta. “Oscar was everything you could want a friend to be… He was happy dining with the rich and famous, for sure, but equally happy playing dominoes with his devoted staff… He would ask the concierge to dinner rather than dine alone.”

She went on to say that even though he was sick, Oscar never complained and always seemed happy and friendly.

“He never once complained about his illness, always positive, always looking forward,” Wintour wrote. “He was a tireless philanthropist — he and [wife] Annette [de la Renta] supported so many charities, some quite small and under the radar — and the most generous friend.”

She added that even more impressive than his kindness was his love for his wife Annette.

“Annette was his perfect partner, creating those magical houses and gardens together, giving extraordinary seemingly effortless dinners, and always taking care of each other,” Wintour said of the couple. “She slept on a cot in the hospital every night he was there. Theirs was the greatest, most life-enhancing love affair. Last week in the hospital he said that she never wears the beautiful jewelry he gave her, and she said simply, ‘I have you.’”

Other stars and celebrities described Oscar in a similar way and it is clear that he was well-liked by everyone who knew him.

  • George Clooney Hours Away From Saying ‘I Do’ to Amal Alamuddin in Venice

The biggest wedding of the year is in full swing in the romantic city of Venice, Italy.

George Clooney and his bride-to-be, Amal Alamuddin, have arrived in Venice, along with a bevy of other stars on hand to help celebrate their much-anticipated wedding.

On Saturday, the 54-year-old groom was spotted relaxing with friends ahead of his wedding to human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin.

Enjoying a late-morning coffee with Cindy Crawford and her husband, reported best man Rande Gerber, Clooney was even gracious enough to interact with paparazzi, despite his reputation for wanting to keep his private life private.

After someone yelled “Is this really happening, George?” the actor pretended to look at a non-existent watch on his bare wrist and yelled back: “Yeah, right now.”

Singer Bono and his wife are among the celebrities in town for the nuptials, which also include Clooney’s parents and cousin Miguel Ferrer, Matt Damon, Ellen Barkin, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Anna Wintour and Richard Kind.

Although Clooney and Alamuddin, 36, have never publicly disclosed the details of their wedding, speculation has been rampant.

Guests are reportedly forbidden to bring cellphones. But don’t worry. The world will get to see pics of the wedding soon as Vogue magazine has apparently been given exclusive rights to cover the wedding.

The luxurious Aman hotel overlooking the Grand Canal is the likely site of the ceremony. All 44 rooms have been exclusively booked for the weekend.

Venice city officials have announced the closure of a 50-meter (yard) length of pedestrian way along the Grand Canal near the 16th-century Cavalli Palace, used for civil marriage ceremonies and right across the street from the Aman hotel, for two hours on Monday. The reason announced was for the Clooney civil ceremony.

It is believed the couple will have two ceremonies — one on Saturday followed by a civil ceremony Monday. They will not be legally wed until after the civil ceremony.

  • Anna Wintour Forced Strict Style Rules For Met Gala

Anna Wintour Forced Strict Style Rules For Met Gala

Anna Wintour created very specific dress code rules for guests and Vogue staff attending this year’s Met Gala. “Anna doesn’t want anyone to stand out in an inappropriate way. The night is for the invitees, not the Vogue staff. Vogue staffers were only allowed to choose dresses in seven distinct color palettes, including a gray-lavender and sea foam,” a Met Ball insider (whatever that means) said. While Vogue employees had their own set of rules, Wintour also established a guide for those attending the exclusive event as guests. Evidently shelling out $25,000 isn’t enough to buy a little freedom of expression — one still had to adhere to white tie dress.

For men, this meant a black tailcoat, a waistcoat, a wing-collared shirt, a white bow tie, sheer silk socks, patent leather evening pumps, and medals and rosettes. Ladies had it a bit easier, with the only requirement being an appropriate ball gown.

While the lady stars gracing the charity event could at least select their own gowns, women working for Vogue had their design chosen for them, or rather designed for them by design house Reem Acra. Another Met Gala insider (who ARE these people) said that the staffers’ shoes were also pre-selected. The ladies had to wear Manolo Blahniks (what a nightmare) to tastefully match their dress without standing out or making any sort of fashion statement.

It seems Anna Wintour still insists upon proving that Meryl Streep’s character in The Devil Wears Prada was based on her as the editor in chief of Vogue, not that anyone doubted that in the first place. C’mon, Wintour. Cut your staff and those poor celebrities a little slack. At least she let Kim Kardashian attend this year after allegedly banning her from the event in the past. Progress.

  • Kim Kardashian: Anna Wintour Explains Vogue Cover

Kim Kardashian has been a pop culture figure for several years now, whether people like it or not. Besides her high-profile family and successful reality show, she’s an entrepreneur and is engaged to one of the most talked-about musicians of the time. Rumors have been floating around for months that she would grace the pages of Vogue, which angered many and confused others who thought the highly-coveted magazine cover would never go to a reality star.

Vogue editor Anna Wintour wrote an open letter this week to explain why Kim and Kanye were chosen for the cover–and they were chosen, she says, despite rumors that Kanye “begged” for it–and says she thinks Kim is gutsy.

“Part of the pleasure of editing Vogue, one that lies in a long tradition of this magazine, is being able to feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stir things up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way we see it,” she wrote. “I think we can all agree on the fact that that role is currently being played by Kim and Kanye to a T. (Or perhaps that should be to a K?)”

“As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancee on Vogue’s cover. He did nothing of the sort,” she added. “The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn’t true. There’s barely a strand of the modern media that the Kardashian Wests haven’t been able to master, and for good reason: Kanye is an amazing performer and cultural provocateur, while Kim, through her strength of character, has created a place for herself in the glare of the world’s spotlight, and it takes real guts to do that.”

Despite Wintour’s assurances, many are still angry with the choice; actress Sarah Michelle Gellar even tweeted that she’s going to get rid of her Vogue subscription. Others have taken the opportunity to spoof it already. Kardashian and West have yet to comment on the backlash.

  • Anna Wintour, Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Refutes Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Begging Rumors

Anna Wintour has opted to douse water on the latest media firestorm.

Since the unveiling of Vogue magazine’s April issue, Wintour has been a victim of negativity due to her decision to feature Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the cover of the fashion and lifestyle magazine.

When the cover was unveiled on Friday, Mar. 21, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and the Yeezus rapper immediately became the center of scrutiny.

Some have found Wintour’s decision so outlandish that rumors have begun circulating, insinuating that West begged her to be on the cover of the magazine.

However, the Vogue editor-in-chief has decided to set the record straight and put an end to all of the speculation. All of the rumors are completely false.

According to Hello magazine, the 64-year-old editor released an open letter, firing back at the media. She expressed that the famed couple has “a quality that many stars can’t champion, no matter how famous.”

She also made it clear that her business dealings with West have nothing to do with marketing as a means of “selling more covers.”

“You may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancée on Vogue’s cover. He did nothing of the sort. The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn’t true,” she clarified.

“There’s barely a strand of the modern media that the Kardashian Wests haven’t been able to master, and for good reason,” she said.

She went on to speak fondly of the two, sharing her opinion of the couple. “Kanye is an amazing performer and cultural provocateur, while Kim, through her strength of character, has created a place for herself in the glare of the world’s spotlight, and it takes real guts to do that.”

Wintour also expressed that although they’ve created a “certain buzz in the media,” she’d like for readers to make an effort to see them from her point of view.

“Part of the pleasure of editing Vogue, one that lies in a long tradition of this magazine, is being able to feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stir things up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way we see it,” she said.

“I think we can all agree on the fact that that role is currently being played by Kim and Kanye to a T. (Or Perhaps that should be to a K?),” she quipped.

  • Anna Wintour Kills Twerk Queen’s Vogue Cover

Anyone who follows fashion knows that Vogue’s Anna Wintour is not someone you want to mess with. She doesn’t take kindly to scandal, and Miley Cyrus is reportedly finding that out the hard way this week after Wintour killed her cover for the December issue following the twerk-seen-round-the-world.

According to The Daily Mail, Wintour was a champion for Cyrus as a new fashion muse but was completely disgusted by her VMAs performance with Robin Thicke and decided to go with someone else for the December cover, even though Cyrus reportedly already shot the photos.

“Anna found the whole thing distasteful,” a source said. “She decided, based on Miley’s performance, to take the cover in a different direction.”

The internet was abuzz after the MTV awards show, where Cyrus got raunchy onstage with Thicke during a rendition of his hit “Blurred Lines”. Cyrus has commented on her performance, saying she believes everyone is overthinking it, and compared it to other controversial VMAs performances.

“How many times have we seen this play out in pop music? Madonna’s done it, Britney’s done it. Every VMA performance… anyone that performs, that’s what you’re looking for. You’re wanting to make history,” she said.

  • Harper Beckham Gets All Eyes On Her

Fashionable mom, Victoria Beckham, who was previously known as Posh Spice looked extremely proud of her adorable daughter, Harper, during a recent fashion show in New York City. In fact, Victoria was not alone in her captivation of the pretty young girl. Even Anna Wintour, the notoriously renown stickler for fashion etiquette and decorum, showed absolute delight when looking at Harper.

So proud of Harper’s behavior and composure for a child of just two-years-old, Victoria went to Twitter in order to showcase her pride. Clasped protectively in the arms of her father, soccer legend David Beckham, Harper did not cry, throw fits, or have any temper-tantrums.

According to ITV, Anna Wintour, Vogue editor, was quite taken by the young beauty. “The famously frosty Wintour was seen smiling and playing with the toddler before the collection got underway,” was shared on the ITV website.

For a girl of only two years, Harper Beckham is no stranger to the fashion world, and has accompanied her mother during fashion shows designed to unveil looks of the 2014 spring and summer collection from the Victoria line.

Proud parents and an adoring Vogue editor were in good company appreciating the beautiful, young Harper Beckham.
