  • Andrea Sneiderman Released From Prison, Working On Appeal

Andrea Sneiderman, the Georgia woman convicted of perjury last summer in the case of her husband’s 2010 murder, has been released from prison and denies she had any romantic involvement with the man who killed him.

Sneiderman’s husband, Rusty, was shot and killed in front of a daycare center in an Atlanta suburb, and Sneiderman’s boss, Hemy Neuman, was convicted of the murder. Neuman is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole, but is working on an appeal based on what may have been a purjured testimony from his former Realtor, Melanie White, who claims he told her of a romantic trip with Sneiderman.

“One of my greatest regrets will be allowing this predator into my life and not being stronger for dispelling his advances sooner, ” Sneiderman said last year. “Mr. Neuman changed my children’s lives forever by killing their father. Please don’t make them live without their mother.”

Sneiderman was initially found guilty of hindering the apprehension of a criminal, concealment of material facts, three counts of giving false statements and four counts of perjury and was sentenced to five years with time served after prosecutors argued that she was lying about having a relationship with Neuman, which hindered the investigation into her husband’s murder. She still maintains that she wasn’t romantically involved with him, but says that during the course of their friendship, the lines of appropriateness did become blurred.

“In hindsight I should have told Rusty about his advances. I should have quit my job, filed a report with HR and hid from Mr. Neuman,” she admitted.

Sneiderman is under parole supervision until the summer of 2017, but as long as she doesn’t break another law between now and then, her felony convictions will be erased from her record.

  • Andrea Sneiderman Is Out On Parole

Andrea Sneiderman, the woman who lied about having an affair with her husband’s killer, was released from prison on parole. Gwendolyn Hogan, spokeswoman for the Georgia Department of Corrections, said that Sneiderman was released at 12:22 am on Monday. Family members greeted her.

Sneiderman’s husband was killed in 2010 outside the Dunwoody preschool, where he had just dropped off their son. Hemy Neuman, Sneiderman’s boss, was convicted of the crime in 2012 and is currently serving a life sentence.

At one point in the case, Sneiderman herself was charged with murder. However, the judge dismissed the murder charge due to lack of evidence. Instead, Sneiderman went on trial for perjury. Prosecutors stated that Sneiderman lied to the authorities and denied having an affair with Neuman.

Sneiderman was found guilty on nine of 13 charges in 2013. The charges include false statement and perjury, concealment of material facts, and hindering the apprehension of a criminal. She was sentenced to serve five years, minus a year that she already served.

Based on a report from the Board of Pardons and Paroles, Sneiderman will be under standard supervision until 2017. She will have to get permission to leave the state, and she is required to meet with her parole office once a month. She is also subject to random searches.

Manny Arora, a criminal defense attorney who is not associated with Sneiderman’s case, said that the early release of Sneiderman is not surprising. Arora said that perjury convictions are rare, and he was surprised that Sneiderman had to spend as much time in prison as she did.

“I think they would have let her out. With the overcrowding we have, the actual drug dealers and the guns and the violence we have out there, to have somebody like that is kind of ridiculous,” he said.

Sneiderman’s attorney said that Sneiderman is happy to be back home and will be pursuing an appeal.

  • Andrea Sneiderman Guilty Of Perjury In Murder Case

Andrea Sneiderman, the Georgia mother of two whose husband was shot and killed outside their daycare center in 2010, has been convicted of perjury related to false statements she made about her relationship with the shooter.

Sneiderman was allegedly having an affair with her boss, Hemy Neuman, and prosecutors say that relationship is what led to Neuman’s deadly shooting of Rusty Sneiderman. Neuman was convicted of the murder last year, but Sneiderman lied to police about their relationship, hindering the investigation. She has been found guilty of one count of hindering the apprehension of a criminal, one count of concealment of material facts, three counts of false statements and four counts of perjury.

Prosecutors said that Sneiderman knew about the shooting before she arrived at the daycare and then lied about it, and later lied about her relationship with Neuman while on the stand during his trial. However, the Sneiderman family’s rabbi, Rabbi Hirsch Minkowicz, said Sneiderman was very vocal in her belief that Neuman had something to do with the shooting before he was arrested.

“I remember her looking at her notebook reading these names. Her voice was calm and regular, and then she came to the name of Hemy Neuman. She became very agitated and she started with a raised voice. ‘I want to know about Hemy Neuman. What’s going on with him.? Why has he not been in here to be investigated or to be interviewed?’” Minkowicz said.

Sneiderman is due to be sentenced today.
