  • Mel Gibson Makes Hollywood Return at Sunday’s Golden Globes

Mel Gibson has been noticeably absent from Hollywood for about 10 years, following a headlining custody battle and a drunk, sexist and anti-Semitic encounter with the Malibu police department. These scenarios dropped the actor who brought Jesus Christ to the big screen to a level that cost him his fans and his career.

On Sunday, Hollywood is welcoming Mel Gibson back. He will serve as a presenter at this year’s Golden Globes. What most people are asking as they learn this tidbit of news, is why?

During his infamous arrest for drunk driving, Mel Gibson coined the phrase “sugar tits” when addressing a female officer. He also said to a male officer, “The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world. Are you a Jew?”

During his 2010 split from girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, the mother of his child, Mel Gibson shocked the media with use of the word “nigger,” and with threatening to bury Grigorieva in the rose garden.

Now he’s going to shine brightly in front of Hollywood’s best and brightest, as well as viewers tuning to to see the Golden Globes.

Producers announced on Tuesday that Mel Gibson will join Jim Carrey, Amy Adams, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, Jamie Foxx, Kate Hudson, Eddie Redmayne, and Channing Tatum on the roster of presenters. Ricky Gervais is hosting the show.

What’s your take on producers asking Mel Gibson to appear on stage at the Golden Globes? Are you surprised a boycott isn’t taking place to have him removed from the lineup? Is Hollywood really that quick to forgive and forget?

  • Kate Hudson Will Present at Golden Globes With Her ‘Pa,’ Kurt Russell

Kate Hudson will present at the 2016 Golden Globes with the man she calls “Pa,” Kurt Russell.

People magazine released a partial list of presenters on Tuesday and fans of the Hawn/Russell/Hudson family must be happy to see that the man the 36-year-old daughter of Goldie Hawn considers her father will present with her.

In addition, Kurt Russell’s latest film, The Hateful Eight, was nominated for three awards.

Joining Kate Hudson and Kurt Russell in presenting awards will be 31-year-old Jaimie Alexander, Bryce Dallas Howard, Mel Gibson and Olivia Wilde, according to AceShowBiz.

Eddie Redmayne and Helen Mirren, who are up for awards, will also present.

The 33-year-old actor was nominated for his transgender role in The Danish Girl, while Mirren nabbed a nod for her performance in Trumbo.

Also set to share the stage with host Ricky Gervais are Jim Carrey, Amy Adams, Jaimie Alexander, Patricia Arquette, Jamie Foxx, Amber Heard, Julianne Moore, J.K. Simmons and Channing Tatum.

The 73rd Golden Globe Awards will air 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT) Sunday, Jan. 10, on NBC.

  • Amy Adams Wants Desperately To Be The “Not-Cool” Person in Jennifer Lawrence And Amy Schumer’s Squad

Amy Adams recently admitted that she really wants to form a Taylor Swift-style squad with Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer.

    Who doesn’t, Amy Adams?

During an interview for the Hollywood Masters interview series held at Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film & TV in Los Angeles, Amy Adams spoke of her blossoming producing career.

Amy Adams also spoke of her upcoming role as Lois Lane in the highly anticipated Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

She (kind of) described her favorite scene, saying, “I can’t give too much away, but I’m coming into a scene and Batman and Superman are both in the scene, so I can say that. And it was just fun. Because they had been working together for a couple weeks and just running it, seeing this dynamic.”

She then apologetically added, “I’ll talk about this when we’re promoting the movie and we can tell more. But there were definitely funny moments involving bat suits and such.”

The most interesting part, though, is when Amy Adams declares her interest in being a “sqaud” with Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer.

She said, “I’m waiting for Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer to invite me to their party! So, I hope I was funny today so they will invite me to their next boating party.”

Amy Adams would even gladly take the position that no one wants.

She said, “I’m a little more neurotic than both of them, but I think that would be – they need a little of that, and they’re both so cool and I could be the ‘not-cool’ person.”

I don’t know how Amy Adams sees herself, but I think she would have a hard time fitting a “not-cool” persona.

What do you think about Amy Adams’ desire to squad up with Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence?

  • Charlize Theron Stars in New ‘Dark Places’ Trailer

Charlize Theron will soon star in a new film based on a book by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn. Dark Places tells the story of a mother and two sisters who were murdered in the 1980s. Their son/brother went to prison for the crimes. Charlize Theron plays the role of Libby–the third daughter and surviving sister. Libby witnessed–or so she believes–the murders.

Certain of her brother’s guilt, Libby eventually begins questioning her past. This is where Charlize Theron shines.

While the twists and turns aren’t quite as startling as those in Gone Girl, Dark Places doesn’t disappoint.

Since there isn’t yet a release date scheduled for the U.S., the following trailer features French subtitles. The film opens in France on April 8th.

Dark Places has been in the works since 2012. Since it’s such a dark–no pun intended–movie, it won’t be an easy or pleasant watch. Amy Adams was initially cast in the role that Charlize Theron now fills. Christina Hendricks also stars in Dark Places, as Libby in her later life.

Outside of the film world, Charlize Theron has recently made news for her relationship with Sean Penn. Penn recently described her to the media as ‘the love of his life,’ as he instructed a reporter not to refer to her as ‘his girlfriend.’

Does Dark Places sound like a film you’ll head to the theater to see–if and when it makes its way to the United States? It definitely sounds like the kind of role Charlize Theron can bring to life–while dealing with death–on the big screen.

  • Amy Adams Lays On Channing Tatum For Magazine Cover

Amy Adams was one of several stars fortunate enough to grace the cover of Vanity Fair‘s Hollywood issue this year, and she wasn’t about to fade into the background of the photo shoot; the Big Eyes star draped one shapely leg over Channing Tatum’s shoulder as he stood with one hand on Reese Witherspoon’s hip, and the cover is making headlines this week.

Photographer Annie Leibovitz said the intimate look of the shoot was intentional, and that she wanted to get up close to the stars this year. In previous years, the subjects were arranged on a large set with the camera fairly far away.

“Usually you shoot from fairly far away, but we wanted to get really close to the actors. We made an effort to create a feeling of intimacy. I pushed into them, shooting to the left and then the right, coming in as tight as I could,” Leibovitz said.

Amy Adams has received good reviews for her role in Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, a film about artist Margaret Keane and her complicated relationship with a husband who allegedly took credit for her work for years. The movie earned Adams a Golden Globe and several other nominations.

“Being a mom, I kind of saw [Margaret Keane] as a more complete woman and I was just sort of really interested in exploring that complexity. It was just really helpful and very sort of crucial in me being able to bring her to life. I’m glad we’re getting to tell her story and I’m glad we’re getting to tell it from Margaret, who is such a quiet, dignified woman. She would never come out and seek this attention for herself, so it’s nice to get to bring attention to her and to her story,” Amy Adams told Access Hollywood.

  • Charlize Theron Negotiates More Than $10 Million Payday for Film Sequel

Charlize Theron took a stand following the recent Sony hacking scandal, against women’s pay in Hollywood. The result is a more than $10 million pay day for the actress for her upcoming prequel to Snow White and the Huntsman. Theron will be paid the same as her male costar Chris Hemsworth.

The Sony hacking scandal revealed that many of Hollywood’s highest paid actresses still aren’t paid as much as their male counterparts. Charlize Theron simply wasn’t having it. She negotiated via her agents and her work paid off.

“Charlize insisted that she get paid the same money as Chris. She has a great track record, so she got the same deal,” a source told Page Six.

“One knock-on effect from the Sony hacking scandal is that there will be more sensitivity about equal pay for actresses and hiring practices at movie studios,” another source said.

Both Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron are reprising their roles of huntsman Eric and evil queen Ravenna in The Huntsman. The film, which is directed by Frank Darabont, is in pre-production and will hit the big screen in April 2016.

During the Sony hacking scandal, emails from Sony revealed that both Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams were paid less for their roles in American Hustle than their male costars, Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper. Charlize Theron is no doubt glad that proverbial cat was let out of its bag. She’s now banking a cool $10 million-plus for her next film, and has likely paved the way for equal pay for her female counterparts.

This isn’t the first cause that has prompted Theron to take a stand. She founded the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project in 2007 to combat HIV/AIDS among young people. She served as spokesperson for the United Nations’ Stop Rape Now program and PETA’s anti-fur campaigns, and has been quoted as saying that she won’t get married until everyone in America enjoys equal rights for marriage. Some sources are reporting she is engaged to Sean Penn, so its uncertain how long she’ll hold out on that cause.

Kudos to Charlize Theron for her continued activism. People like Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams might even be her new best friends.

  • Amy Adams ‘Confused and Definitely Frustrated’ Over ‘Today’s Decision to Cut Her

Amy Adams is “frustrated” after an appearance scheduled on the Today show was cancelled after she refused to discuss issues pertaining to the Sony hacking scandal.

The actress was slated to appear on Monday to promote Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, but producers pulled the plug on the segment after the actress said she wasn’t willing to answer questions that were likely related to the revelation that surfaced through hacked emails that she and her American Hustle co-star Jennifer Lawrence were paid less than their male counterparts in the Academy-Award nominated film.

“As a news program, the ‘Today’ show doesn’t allow guests to put restrictions on interviews,” the show said in a statement on Monday. “In this case, after hours of discussion we felt uncomfortable with the demands being made and we determined the best course of action for all parties involved was to cancel the interview.”

The actress told USA Today that she told the NBC morning news program that she was “uncomfortable” adding her voice to the conversation about the hack and Sony’s subsequent decision to pull The Interview from theaters.

“But it was clear they were drawing a hard line. That this would be part of the conversation,” she said. “I walked away from the conversation and went up to the room to do the interview. I assumed they were going to ask me about [the Sony hacking]. And I was prepared for that, to whatever degree I was prepared.”

Adams said when she “was informed that they had decided to pull the interview. I was confused and definitely frustrated. I still don’t understand.”

The studio that produced the film, the Weinstein Company, supported the actress’ decision to remain quiet about the Sony hack and said her opinion should be respected.

“We firmly stand behind Amy Adams. We’ve been lucky enough to have had her talents grace several of our films. We are certain her fellow actors and directors would all agree, she is nothing but the consummate professional both on and off set,” they told Just Jared. “Amy decided to speak up for herself and express her disappointment that Today would feel the need to ask her a question she did not feel comfortable , and rather than respect her opinion or continue the discussion, the reaction was to pull her appearance from the show.”

Today reps declined to elaborate any further on the incident.

  • Amy Adams Cut from ‘Today Show’ for Not Talking Sony

Amy Adams spent the past several days in New York City, hosting SNL this weekend and promoting her upcoming film Big Eyes. She was supposed to appear on the Today Show, too, but when she refused to discuss the recent Sony hack during her interview she was cut from the show.

One of the emails revealed during the hacking scandal stated that Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence made less money than their male costars, Bradley Cooper and Christian Bale. It seems when Adams refused to discuss it, she was out.

“As a news program, the Today show doesn’t allow guests to put restrictions on interviews. In this case, after hours of discussion we felt uncomfortable with the demands being made, and we determined the best course of action for all parties involved was to cancel the interview,” a spokesperson for the show told the Hollywood Reporter.

Amy Adams was wholeheartedly supported by the Weinstein Company–the producers of Big Eyes.

“We firmly stand behind Amy Adams. We’ve been lucky enough to have had her talents grace several of our films. We are certain her fellow actors and directors would all agree, she is nothing but the consummate professional both on and off set. Amy decided to speak up for herself and express her disappointment that Today would feel the need to ask her a question she did not feel comfortable, and rather than respect her opinion or continue the discussion, the reaction was to pull her appearance from the show,” they said in a statement released on Tuesday.

Do you feel the Today Show was right or wrong in cutting Amy Adams from their show this week? Surely while promoting Big Eyes there was plenty she could have discussed besides the Sony email hacking.

  • Amy Adams Cut From ‘Today’ Show Over Her Refusal to Discuss Sony Hack

Amy Adams’ appearance on the Today show was cancelled Monday after she refused to discuss the North Korean hack of Sony and the consequent fallout.

Adams was scheduled to appear on the morning show to promote her role in Tim Burton’s new film Big Eyes, but producers pulled the plug on the segment after the actress said she wasn’t willing to answer questions pertaining to the Sony hack.

“As a news program, the Today show doesn’t allow guests to put restrictions on interviews. In this case, after hours of discussion we felt uncomfortable with the demands being made, and we determined the best course of action for all parties involved was to cancel the interview,” a Today spokesman told The Hollywood Reporter.

Today likely wanted Adams to respond to questions about the revelation that surfaced through hacked emails that she and her American Hustle co-star Jennifer Lawrence were paid less than their male counterparts in the Academy-Award nominated film.

The studio that produced the film, the Weinstein Company, supported the actress’ decision to remain tight-lipped about the Sony hack and said her opinion should be respected.

  • Amy Adams ‘SNL’ Monologue Crashed by Kristen Wiig

Amy Adams hosted SNL this past weekend, and her opening monologue was crashed by SNL alum Kristen Wiig. This wasn’t the first time Wiig had done this to Amy Adams either.

According to a report from the Huffington Post, Wiig did the same thing while Adams was hosting Saturday Night Live back in 2008, too.

Amy Adams was in the middle of her own rendition of “We Need A Little Christmas” when Kristen Wiig made her entrance. Wiig claims she didn’t crash the scene, but rather “showed up uninvited.”

Entertainment Weekly didn’t think much of Amy Adams’s stint on SNL this weekend. In fact, when comparing her with Justin Timberlake, who hosted last year’s pre-Christmas show, they didn’t have much that was positive to say.

The publication seemed to think more of a sketch that was cut prior to showtime, during which Pete Davidson plays a man professing his love to Amy Adams, a la Love Actually.

Davidson starts off in the same fashion as Mark (played by Andrew Lincoln in the film), telling Adams to explain to her husband that it’s just Christmas carol singers at the door. But his declaration of love takes a few strange—and extremely unnecessary—turns.

Did you check out Amy Adams on Saturday Night Live this past weekend? Was she nearly as boring as EW made her out to be? Would she have received a better review had Justin Timberlake not hosted last year’s show that aired just before Christmas?

You can check out Amy Adams in a theater near you when her upcoming film Big Eyes premieres on Christmas Day.

  • Amy Adams Talks “Big Eyes” Inspiration

Amy Adams Talks “Big Eyes” Inspiration

Amy Adams snagged a coveted role in the upcoming Tim Burton film Big Eyes, and while there’s no doubt she would have been able to tap into her character’s psyche with her own undeniable talent, she says that being a mom helped her see things in a different way.

Adams, who plays real-life artist Margaret Keane, says she got to meet the lady she was portraying and was fascinated to learn things from her about her own life. Keane’s second husband, Walter, ultimately took credit for the paintings of big-eyed characters she created in the ’60s. The film tells the story of how she grew as an artist and eventually announced to the world that she was the one behind the artwork. For Adams, sharing motherhood with Keane allowed her to understand the complexities of what the character required.

She would never come out and seek this attention for herself, so it’s nice to get to bring attention to her and to her story,” Adams told Access Hollywood.

Adams is receiving rave reviews for the film, with one Hollywood Foreign Press Association member reportedly saying, “She’s a hugely talented actress with a lot of range. Nice is just the icing on the cake.” Indeed, rumors are flying that Adams will walk away with some highly coveted awards next year. And for those wondering, Margaret Keane has seen the film more than once and, according to Adams, had a different reaction each time.

“The first time she was so traumatized going back to that time period in her life and sort of re-experiencing those emotions and that kind of betrayal and just sort of the weight of deception. I think she actually got to enjoy it the second time. She got to really be thrilled at her story being told and the way it was brought to life,” she said.

  • Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams Paid Less Than Male Counterparts in ‘American Hustle,’ Leaked Sony E-mails Reveal

Compared to their male counterparts, Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams sure got the short end of the stick when it comes to getting paid for American Hustle.

The Sony e-mail leaks continue to reveal new behind-the-scenes goings-on in Hollywood, and the fallout is not pretty.

The latest slew of e-mails — presumed to have been leaked out of North Korea in retaliation for the less-than-flattering portrayal of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un in The Interview, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco — reveal that Adams and the Hunger Games actress were paid considerably less than their male co-stars on American Hustle.

According to Page Six, “the e-mails detail the ‘points’ — or back-end payments — that each of the actors in American Hustle would be receiving, and Lawrence and fellow female star Amy Adams were arguably getting hustled.”

The Daily Beast revealed Friday that Lawrence and Adams received seven percent, while director David O. Russell and male co-stars Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale and Jeremy Renner received nine percent.

Andrew Gumpert, president of business affairs for Sony’s Columbia Pictures, said in a Dec. 5, 2013 e-mail that he got a “rush call” complaining that the men were getting more than the female stars.

The email says: “Got a Steve Warren/Gretchen rush call that it’s unfair the male actors get 9 percent in the pool and Jennifer is only at 7pts (percentage points).

“You may recall Jennifer was at 5 (Amy was and is at 7) and WE anted in 2 extra points for Jennifer to get her up to 7. If anyone needs to top Jennifer up its Megan (Ellison from Annapurna Pictures, which co-financed American Hustle).

“BUT I think Amy and Jennifer are tied so upping JL, ups AA.”

This is just the latest in several stories coming out of Hollywood about ticked-off celebrities, who are hearing of details they may have never wanted to know about how they are perceived, talked about and treated by executives in the film industry. And it’s likely not the last.

You have to have been living under a rock to have not heard about the exchange between Sony Pictures Co-Chairman Amy Pascal and Brian Helgeland, the screenwriter for Angelina Jolie’s project, Cleopatra, in which Pascal suggests Helgeland dump Jolie in favor of Lawrence, calling the Unbroken actress a “minimally talented spoiled brat.”

  • Amy Adams Will Play Janis Joplin in Biopic Directed by ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ Director

In an upcoming biopic, Amy Adams will play the legendary rock star Janis Joplin.

Adams originally became attached to the film, titled Janis Joplin: Get It While You Can, in 2010. She later dropped out of it. Other actresses and singers who were rumored to play Joplin in biopics include Zooey Deschanel, Pink, Lili Taylor, Renee Zellweger, and Reese Witherspoon.

According to Rolling Stone, producer Peter Newman has attempted for nearly 15 years to get a Joplin biopic, originally called Joplin but now entitled Janis, made. In 2012, Tony Award winner Nina Arianda was cast to play Joplin in Janis. The film is still in the development phase of production-with exclusive rights to 21 of Joplin’s most well-known songs.

IMDB describes the plot of Janis as being about “a Rolling Stone writer assigned to write a cover story on the enigmatic Janis Joplin ends up on a long tour with the singer at the height of her success.”

In 2012, Lee Daniels (The Butler) was in talks to direct Get It While You Can. The Oscar nominated director was set to replace director Fernando Meirelles (City of God). Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) was also once attached to direct the biopic. The latest director attached to take over the project is Dallas Buyers Club director Jean-Marc Vallee.

Adams hasn’t shied away from singing in past films. She had some very memorable singing moments in one of her first blockbuster films Enchanted. So it’s likely that Adams won’t hesitate to sing when given the opportunity to do so in Get It While You Can.

The five time Oscar nominee’s love for Joplin seems to extend way beyond this film. She admitted to Vogue that if given the opportunity to have coffee with anyone dead or alive, it be Joplin, “but it probably wouldn’t be coffee.” Her passion for the artist may earn her yet another Oscar nomination.

Production on Get It While You Can is set to begin during the latter half of 2015. Vallee is currently getting ready for the release of Wild, starring Witherspoon. Wild opens in theaters nationwide on Dec. 5. Adams can be seen this Christmas in Big Eyes.

  • Amy Adams To Play Janis Joplin In Biopic

Amy Adams was rumored to be taking on the role of Janis Joplin in the biopic, Get it While You Can, starting back in 2010 when the project was first getting off the ground.

Now, those rumors have finally been confirmed. Amy Adams will play the hard-living, gritty-voiced Janis Joplin.

Amy Adams is used to singing on screen. I mean, she was absolutely adorable in Enchanted, right? Can she twist her voice into that familiar husky voice that we are so familiar with?

“Me and Bobby McGeee”, “Cry Baby”, and “To Love Somebody” were a huge part of a soundtrack of a generation. Amy Adams has some really big shoes to fill.

Janis Joplin lived a hard, fast life, starting with the band Big Brother and the Holding Company and moving on to solo projects with backing bands The Kozmic Blues Band and The Full Tilt Boogie Band.

Fans called her stage presence “electric” and her songs led her to be called “The Queen of Psychedelic Soul”, and she also became known as “Pearl” among her friends.

Joplin died tragically at the young age of 27 from a heroin overdose. Amy Adams is 40 years old, but looks closer to 27.

Dallas Buyers Club director Jean-Marc Vallee is in talks to direct the film. Lee Daniels dropped the project in 2012 and before that, Fernando Meirelles and Catherine Hardwicke were said to be on board, but that fell through.

Amy Adams, Jean-Marc Vallee, and the rest of the team will begin filming in the second half of 2015.

What do you think about Amy Adams taking on the role of Janis Joplin?

  • Amy Adams Says She ‘Worries About Everything’

Amy Adams is a worrier and she’s the first to admit it.

“It feels like I worry about everything—mothering, relationships …,” said Adams in an interview for the December issue of Vogue. “I think it’s because I want to continue to grow; I don’t like being stagnant. Especially when you watch how fast children grow, and what they take into their soul and their intellect. It’s like we make this decision to stop growing. I don’t want to do that.”

Adams, who turned 40 in August, says her worrying has been a lifelong ailment. She thought she might outgrow her worries, especially worrying about what people think of her, but found she just can’t seem to shake off her insecurities.

“I was like, ‘I’m 40 and I still care what people think of me; I still don’t do laundry so I’m always out of things; I’m just not a grown-up at all,’ and I had this expectation that I would be by this age,” said Adams.

“It wasn’t, ‘Oh, I’m getting old and I’m going to lose something vibrant about myself.’ It was more that I was just ‘so disappointed with myself,’” she said in the voice of Katherine Hepburn. “It’s just awful. Any chance for self-loathing!”

Even her three-year-old daughter, Aviana, worries about her mama’s worrying.

“I miss her so much. Ten days is the longest trip I think that I’ve ever had away from her,” said Adams of a recent separation from her family while filming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in Detroit.

“Before I left I told her, ‘Lots of people are going to see you, and Daddy’s going to take care of you.’ We have a huge community of friends,” said Adams.

“But she said, ‘Momma, who’s going to take care of you?’ I said, ‘I’m a grown-up. I take care of myself.’ And she said, ‘No, but you need someone to come and spend time with you.’ Because now she has an understanding of loneliness. It’s very sweet. She says, ‘When I grow up, I am going to be your momma,’” she says with a laugh.

“She’ll probably have to be. I’m such a wreck,” concedes Adams. “I’m glad you think it’s cute now. You’re not going to think it’s cute when you’re 25 and I’m living with you.”

  • Amy Adams Dazzles In Fairy Tale Photoshoot For Vogue Cover

Gracing the cover of the latest issue of Vogue, Golden Globe winner Amy Adams took part in an eccentric photoshoot that had her dressed up as characters in fairy tales. On the cover, Adams wore a sheer black dress with leaf-patterned detail and her red hair swept to the side, but the American Hustle star also donned costumes for her fantasy-inspired fashion spread within the magazine’s pages.

One photo portrays Adams as an ice princess on top of a snowy mountain, while another photo shows her as a ballerina puppet being manipulated by director Tim Burton. Her latest film project, Big Eyes, was directed by Burton, who raved in the Vogue interview about what a nuanced actor Adams was. “She brought something so subtle to this; I am not used to dealing in subtlety. It almost felt like a silent movie sometimes,” said Burton.

Adams also revealed in the interview that she didn’t always find it easy to be an actor. She said that she was a “mess” during the first few years she tried to make it in Los Angeles. “I was able to do everything from day player to guest star to small parts in movies,” she said. “I felt a lot of pressure, but I just wasn’t able to get there in the audition room. Or even in meetings. My squirreliness would come out, and people wouldn’t feel confident. I’ve always been someone who had, like, a spirit of perseverance, but I actually almost quit because I was starting not to like who I was.”

Although Adams has had a prolific and successful career since her early days, she confessed that it didn’t prevent her from having a meltdown when she turned 40 in August of this year. “I was like, ‘I’m 40 and I still care what people think of me; I still don’t do laundry so I’m always out of things; I’m just not a grown-up at all,’ and I had this expectation that I would be by this age,” Adams said.

  • Amy Adams Talks Career And Turning 40

Amy Adams may have recently turned 40, but she says that she is still very childish and doesn’t feel her age at all. The actress recently talked with E! News and said that she is surprised at how she acts sometimes.

“I was like, ‘I’m 40 and I still care what people think of me; I still don’t do laundry so I’m always out of things; I’m just not a grown-up at all,’” she said. “and I had this expectation that I would be by this age. It wasn’t, ‘Oh, I’m getting old and I’m going to lose something vibrant about myself.’ It was more that I was just…so disappointed with myself.”

She went on to say that she does worry more now that she is 40 but added that she tries to appreciate everything in life and often reminds herself of the positive stuff.

“It feels like I worry about everything—mothering, relationship. You need to appreciate your life, Amy,” she added. “Every time I get stressed out or anxious, I say to myself, Just live and love. Feel love. I think that’s what I took away from my turning-40 meltdown.”

Adams also took some time to reflect back on the past and recalled a time when she was trying to get her foot in the door in Hollywood.

“I felt a lot of pressure, but I just wasn’t able to get there in the audition room. Or even in meetings,” she said. “My squirreliness would come out, and people wouldn’t feel confident.”

Adams no longer has that problem and now she is very comfortable with all aspects of her career and has even managed to be nominated for five academy awards.

  • Amy Adams: “I’m 40 and I Still Care What People Think of Me.”

Fame and success can’t stop Amy Adams from being a worrier-turning 40 added to her long list of concerns.

Despite Adams’ five Academy Award nominations, her self-doubt persists. Nothing may stop the Man of Steel actress from her daily stress.

Adams shared in the December issue of Vogue some insight into her personal and professional struggles.

It feels like I worry about everything — mothering, relationships… I think it’s because I want to continue to grow; I don’t like being stagnant. Especially when you watch how fast children grow, and what they take into their soul and their intellect. It’s like we make this decision to stop growing. I don’t want to do that.

Most people feel stressed when they begin to reach certain ages. Adams is no different, because turning 40 in August worried her extremely.

I was like, I’m 40 and I still care what people think of me; I still don’t do laundry so I’m always out of things; I’m just not a grown-up at all,’ and I had this expectation that I would be by this age. It wasn’t, ‘Oh, I’m getting old and I’m going to lose something vibrant about myself.’ It was more that I was just ‘so disappointed with myself.

Adams’ confession proves the age old cliche: Money doesn’t solve all problems.

Adams also revealed to Vogue that she’s a perfectionist, which makes her job difficult. “I’m never satisfied with the take. I’ll walk away from it, but I could go and go and go. I’ve had to learn to be OK with it.”

During the beginning of her career, Adams found it difficult to keep her composure during auditions. Her “squirreliness would come out,” she said. Adams continued: “People wouldn’t feel confident. I’ve always been someone who had, like, a spirit of perseverance, but I actually almost quit because I was starting not to like who I was.”

The self-proclaimed people pleaser eventually decided to stick with acting due to advice from her lawyer. She was told she was doing something right if she kept getting jobs. Adams' latest movie, Big Eyes, hits theaters on December 25.

  • Kendall Poses Nude, Wants to Quit ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’

Kendall Jenner, 18, has posed topless on the cover of the latest issue of Love magazine.

The cover features the E! star wearing nothing but a Fox fur hat by Fendi, arms crossed across her chest.

Kendall gives the camera a sexy little smirk with the words “American Girl” inscribed under her image in a colorful, youthful print.

For the latest issue, the mag released three separate covers — one which features Kendall, another with Amy Adams and the last with Adriana Lima.

Jenner announced the cover on Love magazine’s official Instagram.

Under the photo is the caption, “So excited to share my LOVE cover by David Sims and @kegrand! – @kendalljenner #KendallTakesOver”

This isn’t the first time the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has posed topless for a fashion magazine. Just last month she bared her beautiful body in a photo shoot for Interview magazine.

Kendall later told E! News she was thrilled with the cover.

“Yeah, I was really happy with it,” she said. “It was a fun shoot to do and it’s nice when you absolutely just love something.”

Looks like modeling is quickly becoming Kendall‘s chosen career path.

“To be honest, this is exactly what I wanted to be,” said the budding super-model. “I was always looking up to supermodels, they were, like, my superheroes.”

She is so serious about her modeling career that she may even give up her place on her family’s reality show. She has been advised to leave the show because it could have a negative effect on her promising career in the fashion industry.

Sources told The Daily Mail that Jenner “has been advised by friends in the fashion industry that reality TV could damage her modeling career.”

However, because she’s contractually bound to finish off the series, Kendall has allegedly taken other precautions.

“Kendall had the option to pull out of any other potential shows and that’s exactly what she’s done,” said the insider.

  • Amy Adams: Actress Has A First Class Heart

Amy Adams did something she had long wanted to do this past week. She gave up her seat in first class on a flight from Detroit to L.A. to a soldier. Accounts of her generous gesture are making their rounds on social media and in news reports across the internet.

Word of the American Hustle star’s act of kindness was initially spread by an ESPN personality. Jemele Hill, co-host of Numbers Never Lie, was on the same flight as Amy and saw the actress’s giving heart in action.

“When we were waiting to board, I saw her glance the soldier’s way and then she said something to the person she was traveling with,” Hill explains. “Before we took off she had vacated her seat and the flight attendant brought the soldier to her seat.”

Hill was the first person to tweet about Amy Adams and the first class soldier, and that tweet has now gone viral.

Adams’ generosity paid of for the person who became her seat mate in coach, too.

Since Amy made her move from first class to coach, others have chimed in on her quiet but bold move.

There are all sorts of reasons why Amy Adams gave up her first class seat to the American serviceman. Some believe it’s because she was raised on a military base and that her father was a serviceman, too. What matters most, however, is that she acted on those feelings of generosity and kindness–something many people think about doing but never take the initiative to actually do.

Amy Adams sets a fine example–not only for other celebrities–but for everyone. She shows us that we can hand that homeless person a cup of coffee or a pair of warm socks. We can pay for the soldier and his family dining in the next booth at the restaurant, or we can give the few dollars the young mom in front of us at the grocery store checkout is short.

Admit it–you’ve often thought about doing such things. Adams did it. Maybe her kindness will start a movement–the Amy Adams movement. What can you do today that mirrors the actress’s huge heart?

  • Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts, & Will Poulter Win MTV Best Kiss

Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts, and Will Poulter won Best Kiss at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night.

Other nominees for the award included Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence for American Hustle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson for Don Jon, James Franco, Ashley Benson, and Vanessa Hudgens for Spring Breakers, and Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller for The Spectacular Now.

Aniston and Roberts didn’t attend the ceremony, which was broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. Poulter took the stage to accept the award for the trio’s kiss in We’re the Millers.

Poulter interrupted his acceptance speech to read a text message from Aniston. The message allegedly chastised him for making it sound like the two had something going offscreen:

“Hey Doucher, I’m watching this on TV. Stop telling people we’re a real thing. I was forced to kiss you. I didn’t come tonight because I thought I might have to come near you again. It’s probably best you stay in England. P.S. You look like a dorky Tintin.”

The Tintin comment probably referred to the French comic book hero who sports a full face and close cropped hair with a pompadour.

Poulter also won the Breakthrough Performance Award for his work in We’re the Millers.

Poulter has been busy since We’re the Millers, with starring roles in Glassland, Kids in Love, The Maze Runner, and Plastic. He’s also rumored to be starring in iBoy and Shoplifters of the World.

While it’s not clear why Aniston and Roberts weren’t present at the awards ceremony Sunday night, we do know that Roberts hit up Coachella this weekend with finacé Evan Peters.

Aniston is currently filming her latest project, Cake, in Los Angeles. Felicity Huffman, Anna Kendrick, William H. Macy, Chris Messina, and Sam Worthington are also slated to appear in the movie, which is set to release in 2015.
