‘The Walking Dead’ Returns to AMC Tonight

While we’re all a little sad FX’s creepy hit American Horror Story: Coven has recently concluded their season three, we have yet another chilling show to welcome back into our depraved lives. Say goodbye to witches and welcome back those lifeless zombies because The Walking Dead is back!

AMC’s The Walking Dead returns tonight with the second half of season four.

The last time we saw the gang, Hershel was murdered, the Governor was dead and the prison camp was split up.

Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays Sasha on the show, spilled some exciting details about this season and why audiences are “going to be scared.”

“We have our lips sealed,” Martin-Green said. “But I can say it’s going to be very different from what you’ve seen before, from all the seasons.”

The gang can no longer depend on the prison for shelter and are forced to move elsewhere clearly resulting in some intense drama.

Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, expressed the struggle the crew is in now that they can no longer rely on the prison.

“We’ve had the sanctity and security of the prison for a season and a half and we’re on the road again.People have been spun into orbit,” he said. “Everybody’s been separated and it’s a terrifying world we inhabit again.”

Martin-Green agreed with the group’s battle.

“I think there’s a lot for this group to deal with,” she continued. “There’s going to have to be a new life established, new fights [and] a new struggle to find hope.”

And like past seasons, the cast usually doesn’t know who’s getting killed off until they get a script with the news. And while we don’t know if her character’s getting axed, we do know the zombie-slaying star hasn’t made it out without a few bumps and bruises along the way.

“I pulled my quads early in the season when it was the dead of summer and we were doing a lot of running and stabbing and killing,” she said. “It wasn’t too bad. I could still walk on it. I was limping.”

So where will the gang end up? And will they remain together?

Tune in to AMC tonight to catch the highly anticipated episode.

  • American Horror Story: Coven Star and Creator Hint About Queenie’s Future

American Horror Story: Coven received a couple of Golden Globe nominations today.  Yesterday they were awarded some SAG nominations.  Therefore, the Coven cast is having a pretty good week. However, the fans of the show are not having a great one.

The American Horror Story: Coven mid-season finale episode, ”Head’, left fans in shock. A few major deaths occurred. The biggest, possible, death award went to  voodoo doll witch, Queenie, played by Gabourey Sidibe. Fans wonder her future on the show. Queenie shot herself in the head to stop witch hunter Hank (Josh Hamilton) from killing Marie (Angela Bassett). Queenie has done some horrible things to her own body to torture others. She survived all of those without  a scratch. Nonetheless, a shot to the head seems pretty final.

Fans of Coven know that having a witch with the power of resurgence increases Queenie’s chance of returning. The Coven crew is keeping hush about the final four episodes. They are also being pretty silent on Queenie’s return. But the show’s creator Ryan Murphy, and Sidibe, gave Queenie fans hope. In an interview with E!, Sidibe teased that, “the way they treat death on this show, it’s so odd. I could be dead, I could not be dead. It’s one of those things.” In an exclusive Entertainment Weekly interview, Murphy did not give a clear answer on whether Queenie’s life will get restored. He did reveal that last night’s episode, and the next one, starts the pattern of deaths sticking. This means whoever dies on those two episodes should get comfortable with the after life. It’s safe to assume Luke (Alexander Dreymon) and Hank are both dead for good. But no matter what the cast tries to convince fans, they’ll still hope for a Queenie resurrection.

Murphy and Sidibe also discuss that some of the most disturbing scenes are coming up in the last four episodes. Sidibe even said there is a scene in episode 11 that ” was so funny that we couldn’t even look at each other during the making of it.”

So Queenie’s future looks okay, despite blowing a hole in her head. Just another day on American Horror Story: Coven.

  • Stevie Nicks Talks American Horror Story: Coven

Stevie Nicks has had quite a career as a singer/songwriter. Through her work with Fleetwood Mac, and her own solo career, she has sold over 140 million albums worldwide. Despite her extensive singing career, she says that her appearance on American Horror Story: Coven, is one of the most interesting things that she has ever done.

When Nicks first got the script for the episode she would appear in, she says she was “horrified and terrified”. “I got there on Saturday, I got the script on Saturday night. My assistant Karen read it out loud to me,” Nicks said. “I was horrified and terrified and scared because it’s such a scary thing,” Stevie continued. “I was really terrified and scared because I was reading it at Saturday night at two or three in the morning and I was supposed to go in there on Monday and have some idea of what the script had said.”

Nicks also took the time to explain the thought behind her role in the show. Lily Rabe’s, Misty Day, character is obsessed with Nicks and her music. “[Ryan] saw my music as Lily’s muse he saw this as this girl in the swamp, who was obviously raised by wolves or somebody and didn’t know anybody and had never met anybody – ever, in her life – and she was just out there in the swamp healing people and animals. And she had an 8-track of a bunch of Fleetwood Mac records and Stevie Nicks records and that’s all she listened to. So when she was upset, kind of like we all do, if you’re having a bad day, you put on your favorite artist and listen to them and they cheer you up,” she explained.

Nicks had previously worked with Ryan Murphy, the series creator, on his other show, Glee. Nicks pitched the idea of a possible cameo on American Horror Story: Coven, not realizing that she would quickly be on a plane headed to the set for filming her part. “‘If you want me to just do a walk-thru, I can wear a really long black dress and look stunningly tall and fantastic,’” she told Ryan. “The next thing I know, I’m going to New Orleans.”

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ryan informs us that Nicks will be back for another episode, although he doesn’t give us much inside into the episode.

“We have Stevie for another,” Ryan said. “Stevie will be in episode 10 and then we have Stevie for another one, doing an idea that she came up with that I thought was too perfect to say no to. Hilariously, Stevie read some of the scripts and called up and said “Are you aware that one of the things you’re doing I actually wrote a song about?” I’m like, “You’ve got to be kidding.” Then I remembered the song. We have something cool that was her idea.”

  • Stevie Nicks To Cameo on “American Horror Story: Coven”

The “white witch” herself is going to the Coven.

Ryan Murphy, the creator of the FX series American Horror Story (AHS), took to his Twitter account to announce the news that witchy woman Stevie Nicks will be appearing on the show.

Murphy has long been a fan of Nicks and Fleetwood Mac, whose music inspired an episode of his other show Glee. Murphy said, “When I was growing up, I was always obsessed with those Stevie Nicks songs like ‘Rhiannon’ and ‘Gypsy.’ And I remember reading an article where Courtney Love called Stevie Nicks the ‘white witch’ and Grace Slick the ‘dark witch.’ And I have a good relationship with Stevie because of Glee. She is one of the few artists that have come to hang out. She had been writing Lea [Michele] and I regularly since the Cory [Monteith] situation, because she really loved Cory [who passed away in July]. So she’s just a wonderful, wonderful person.”

One “person” who may be more than happy to see Nicks on AHS: Coven is Misty Day (played by Lily Rabe). The character of Misty is obsessed with Nicks and her music. “When we got to this witch idea, I thought, if you’re Misty and you have grown up alone and you don’t know any other witches, there’s one witch you probably would know and that’s Stevie Nicks. So I called Stevie Nicks and first I said, ‘I want to use you in the show.’ But she was very resistant because from the beginning of her career people who are in the Wiccan community had given her a hard time thinking she was a witch and she got a lot of scary fan letters. She didn’t like the darkness of that, and I explained to her the part and she’s like, ‘Aw f—, let’s just do it. OK, I love it,” said Murphy.

Rabe may also be as excited as her character will be. Rabe said, “If I meet her, I actually think I might die on the spot. I don’t get that crazy about a lot of people. I’m usually pretty cool, calm, and collected. But I don’t know if could behave properly. I love her so much. She’s just a beautiful creature.”

Fans of the show are more than happy with the news.

No date has been set yet for the episode Nicks will be appearing in.

You can watch AHS: Coven every Wednesday at 10:00 p.m. on FX.

  • American Horror Story: Coven – Sexy Witches and Voodoo Shatter Ratings Record

In its third season, American Horror Story: Coven of the FX horror anthology TV series American Horror Story premiered on October 9, and captivated the imagination of its audience to garner its best ratings ever.

More than 5.5 million viewers were glued to the debut episode, 44 percent more compared to last year’s American Horror Story: Asylum. The numbers in the coveted 18-49 age group were up almost 90 percent from last year. Overall the debut episode was second only to ABC’s Modern Family on broadcast last night.

Series creator Ryan Murphy returned Wednesday night with New Orleans serving as the stage for this season’s action, alternating between contemporary times and 19th Century, with seasoned players including Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange.

Among fresh faces, Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts, Patti LuPone, Angela Bassett and Kathy Bates have all set up camp in the terror and torture ridden New Orleans. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0d4rUpHwbGo

The debut episode featured the horrifying Madame Delphine LaLaurie – casting Kathy Bates – in 1834 hosting a dinner party with her beautiful and mysterious daughters. The daughters are expert seductresses chasing the house slaves, who are meted with gruesome treatment by the Madame upon discovering their infractions.

The story then fast forwards to present day where we meet the playful enchantress Taissa Farmiga in her role as Zoe Benson, who in fact is revealed as a witch while enjoying sexual relations with her boyfriend. The boyfriend was in the wrong place, at the wrong time, with the wrong girl, and pays it dearly with his life as his head explodes into an orgy of blood.

Well from there, Zoe begins her journey to an elite school for witches where she is trained to use her powers and survive the modern day. The academy is run by Sarah Paulson, starring as Cordelia Foxx, housing three other young witches, Nan (played by Jamie Brewer), Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts), and Queenie (Gabourey Sidibe).

However, Jessica Lange is the true star of the show, casting as Fiona Goode. The talented actress plays the “supreme” witch and fights aging by sucking other people’s vitality, while teaching the young witches how to enjoy life without fear.

Overall, the heart pounding mix of seduction, terror and exotic settings makes AHS gripping as ever.
