  • Amanda Bynes Arrested: Pictures, Video Released

    On Thursday evening, former child actress Amanda Bynes was arrested after creating a disturbance at her Manhattan apartment. Bynes was allegedly smoking marijuana in the lobby of her building, causing the doorman to call police. When police arrived, Bynes allegedly fled to her apartment and flung a bong out of a window. She was arrested, taken to Roosevelt Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, and then booked on charges of reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence, and possession of marijuana.

    Since that time, Bynes has had a preliminary hearing on the charges. The actress faced a judge while wearing the disheveled blonde wig she has been showing off on Twitter for months. Bynes’ lawyer stated during the hearing that the actress denies ever throwing anything out of her window.

    The former Nickelodeon actress was released without bail and is scheduled to appear in court again in July. Bynes is already on probation for driving on a suspended license in California.

    Amanda Bynes is now on probation.

    According to a TMZ report, Bynes plead no contest to a charge of driving on a suspended license and received three years probation. She has also received a $300 fine for the offense.

    The sentencing was the culmination of an entire year of driving-related offenses from the former Nickelodeon child actress. Her legal troubles began in March 2012, when she was cited for talking on her phone while driving. She followed that up with a D.U.I charge in April after rear-ending a police car in L.A. Later that year, Bynes was charged for two separate hit-and-run incidents and had her license revoked. She was caught driving on her suspended license just weeks later, the offense for which she is now on probation.

    Bynes’ legal and personal troubles led to her representatives dropping her, with one of them calling her “uncontrollable.”

    Since that time, Bynes has moved to New York on her own and is pursuing a career in fashion. She has been using her Twitter feed for self-promotion, tweeting out bizarre experiments with hair and makeup. Bynes even went so far as to tweet out topless pics of herself last week.

    It seems that Amanda Bynes is dedicated to her strange new style and behavior.

    According to an E! News report, the former child star missed a court hearing this week, with the judge granting the actress a continuance. Bynes’ attorney is reportedly waiting on Bynes to sign papers for a negotiated plea deal for the charge of driving on a suspended license.

    Last year, Bynes was arrested in April for a D.U.I., though she claimed she doesn’t drink. Later in 2012 she was charged in a hit-and-run incident and had her driver’s license suspended.

    Since that time, her agent and publicist have dropped her as a client and she has moved to New York. Bynes has now turned to Twitter as her source of publicity, showing off her new cheek piercings and some intense makeup experimentation.

    The 26-year old actress is accused of drunk driving, side-swiping a policeman, and leaving the scene of two other accidents in April and August of this year. She already faces criminal charges for the incidents–in which she could do jail time–and now, she is forbidden to drive in the state of California.

    Bynes has denied all along the allegations that she was drinking and driving, taking to Twitter to vent her frustrations and even tweeting at President Obama to fire the officer who arrested her. Now, however, her actions have caught up to her and she’ll have to face the consequences.

    If convicted, Bynes could do up to a year of jail time and will face fines for the two misdemeanor charges of hit-and-run. She was briefly jailed after the DUI arrest in April but quickly posted bail.

    Amanda Bynes Charged In Hit-And-Runs

    Amanda Bynes has been formally charged with two misdemeanor counts of hit-and-run for incidents that occurred in April and August of this year.

    The April accident involved a deputy, whose car was allegedly clipped by Bynes when she was trying to change lanes. She attempted to keep driving but was eventually pulled over and arrested on suspicion of DUI. She refused to take a breathalyzer, however, and later tweeted a plea to President Obama to “fire the cop” who arrested her because she doesn’t drink.

    26-year old Bynes, who made headlines at 24 when she announced she was “retiring” from acting–only to make a comeback a month later with the film “Easy A”–has exhibited some odd behavior in the past several months, leading some to wonder if drugs and alcohol play a heavy role. She continues to insist she doesn’t partake, but has made no public comment on being charged.

    Each misdemeanor charge carries up to a six-month stay in jail and a thousand dollar fine, and if she gets a tough judge she could be looking at concurrent sentences, meaning a year behind bars and $2,000. She will be arraigned on September 27th.

    Actress Amanda Bynes has been formally charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after her arrest in April. Bynes was pulled over in L.A. after she allegedly hit a police car while changing lanes.

    Bynes says she doesn’t drink and was perfectly sober throughout the ordeal, and because she refused to take a chemical test, police can’t determine what exactly she was under the influence of, if anything. She did reportedly submit to a breathalyzer test, which her father says she blew a zero on.

    “She was not drunk,” Rick Bynes said. “I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer. She didn’t have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn’t drink.”

    There have been a string of automobile mishaps for Bynes just since the arrest, including reported hit-and-runs and a strange, exaggeratedly slow 3-point turn witnessed in L.A. The actress hasn’t been faulted for any of those incidents, however, and took to Twitter to call out the rumors.
