  • Marge Simpson Gets New Dress from Project Runway

Marge Simpson got a new dress after a visit to Project Runway: All Stars. The designers were challenged to make a dress for Marge that she could wear out on a date with hubby Homer Simpson. She has worn the same boring green dress for nearly a quarter of a century.

Marge appeared in a video to explain to the designers exactly what the competition entailed.

“Normally I have one simple fashion philosophy: find a dress that looks good on you and wear it every day for the rest of your life,” she said.

With the show’s 25th anniversary on the horizon, Marge told the designers she needed something that could be easily removed should Homer feel the need to do so following their date. She also insisted that her new creation not be green.

All of the designers outshone Marge Simpson’s boring green dress, but only one was chosen for the big 25th anniversary episode and date. Irina Shabayeva’s dress–in an eggplant hue–beat the other designers hands down. Jeffrey Sebelia was sent home, since his ‘futuristic’ gown was about as far away as one could get from what Marge Simpson might wear.

Twitter was no stranger to talk about Marge Simpson and her impending new dress, even though the tweets weren’t all favorable.

What did you think about Project Runway creating a design for Marge Simpson to wear? Was it a bit ridiculous, since Marge is an animated character, or was it a challenge that aptly exercised the creativity of all the designers?

  • Alyssa Milano Isn’t Ready For A “Charmed” Reboot

Alyssa Milano took to Twitter recently to voice her opinion on the news that began circulating around the web earlier this week: the remake of “Charmed”, which will air on CBS.

The former child-actress was one of the screen queens of the ’80s with her role on “Who’s The Boss”, and moved almost seamlessly into a success in the ’90s as one-third of a group of sister-witches on “Charmed”. During that time, supernatural shows were all the rage: “Buffy” and “Angel” were enormous hits, and now the trend has come back around, as they are wont to do; when “Underworld” came out, it was all about werewolves. When “Twilight” hit theaters, vampires were everywhere. Now, television execs want in on the witch craze that has come about as “American Horror Story: Coven” and “Witches Of East End” draw in viewers.

“Charmed” was a noted piece of history for the WB after running for eight seasons–even after one of it’s original stars, Shannen Doherty, was replaced in season 4 by Rose McGowan–with a nearly all-female cast, so it’s not hard to see why any network wouldn’t want to bring it back to life.

“I think really it’s due to the success of Charmed and the fact that it had so much success even after it was done, meaning that people looked for it, people searched it out and watched those episode over and over,” Milano said. “The Charmed fans are the greatest fans on the planet and the most loyal fans on the planet. I feel like networks are trying to replicate that.”

Milano took to Twitter to talk about how she feels it’s just too soon for a reboot of the show.

McGowan went for a more direct approach:

“Charmed” joins “Murder, She Wrote” in a new batch of television reboots coming up.

  • Alyssa Milano Does A Sex Tape, Talks Good Sleep

Alyssa Milano has been on the “hot” list for years now; it doesn’t matter how old she gets, she seems to stay perpetually gorgeous. Now, the actress is taking advantage of her popularity on the web to promote a Funny Or Die video–in which she stars in a sex tape gone very wrong–as well as a new partnership with Febreeze to promote healthy sleep.

The video is straight-up hilarious and features Milano on a Cabo vacation with her man, trying out a sexy video for the first time and instead turning the camera around the wrong way so that all the viewer gets is an eyeful of the Syria conflict.

The actress has an actual product to promote, however, and that is a new collection of scents by Febreeze to promote a healthy sleep environment. The idea is to get people to relax before bedtime in order to get a good night’s rest and wake up without that tired feeling that can affect the entire day.

“Everyone knows how important sleep is in our lives and to our well-being, but we also need to give our bedtime routine the attention it deserves,” said Milano. “My bedroom environment plays a big part in my sleep experience, so I’m delighted to work with Febreze to introduce the new Sleep Serenity collection. The soothing scents for the bedroom are the perfect way to set the stage for a peaceful night’s rest and help rekindle your relationship with sleep.”

The Sleep Serenity collection comes in a variety of scents and products, with prices ranging from about $3.29 to $5.49.

  • Alyssa Milano At 40: She’s Still Hot

Alyssa Milano At 40: She’s Still Hot

For those of us who grew up in the ’80s, Alyssa Milano was one of the top “It” girls. Boys wanted to date her, girls wanted to be her. She had a hit television show, a sweet action movie with Schwarzenegger, and her face was on every teen magazine to hit the shelves. Plus, she always had the most rad shoes.

Moving from child-acting into an adult career can be daunting for some, but Milano seemed to make the transition seamlessly. With steady roles throughout the late ’80s and early ’90s, she stayed on track until landing the “Charmed” gig, which proved to be a hit with the “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” crowd. Now, at age 40, she looks as good as she ever did and is a busy working mom.

With her birthday coming up this week, Milano’s husband of three years, David Bugliari, decided to throw her a prom-themed surprise party in West Hollywood. The event was a hit and played off the teenage rite of passage that Milano never got to experience.
