  • Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Dominates Ratings

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show clearly captivated audiences. How could a one-hour telecast of barely clothed women, jaunting around in diamond undergarments not draw in such a crowd?

The numbers are in and boy are they astonishing. According to Nielsen, the sexy show drew in 9.71 million viewers with a rating of 3.4 among key 18-to-49-year-olds. Those sky-high numbers made it a top-rated telecast among young adults on the major networks. While its rating in the demographic fell 6% from last year, the entire viewership increased by 2%.

But how did the other stations hold up during the fashion show?

While ABC saw a gain with comedy, “The Goldbergs” (up 21% to a 1.7) they seemed to get less of a reaction from the comic book series, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” The midseason finale dropped 23% in 18-49 to a rating of 2.0.

CBS won the night outright with an average audience of 14.4 million and an 18-49 rating of 2.8.

  • Ginger Zee Is Taking Over The Weather On GMA

Long-time Good Morning America weather anchor, Sam Champion, resigned from ABC on Wednesday to take a managing editor job at The Weather Channel. It was a sad goodbye since Champion is one of the main reasons that GMA has been the top-rated morning show for so many years.

Champion and his co-anchors, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Josh Elliott and Lara Spencer said a tearful goodbye as Champion made his final weather broadcast on Wednesday. “I promise there’s happy on the inside but the tears,” Elliott said. “I’m going to miss you and you are the best live broadcaster I’ve ever worked with. Thank you for giving the gift to us and to everybody at home every day.”

Although Champion will miss his GMA family, he says that taking the new job is just something that he has to do. “I think it’s something that people will go through in their life when you want to stay, doing something you want to, and there’s an opportunity that says you gotta take it,” Champion said. “I’m not going to leave you guys. I’m not going to leave you.”

Champion ended his final GMA weather report with the phrase that he has said more than 7,000 times before. “That’s the weather around the nation, ladies and gentleman,” he said.

Ginger Zee, 32, has been hired as his replacement and hopes that she can fill Champion’s shoes. Zee already has experience with the morning show since she has been Champion’s fill-in for the past two years, and has also been the weather anchor for the weekends. Zee talked about her excitement for her new position with reporters, saying that she never thought she would land this type of position at such a young age.

“You know, some people will work their entire lives and at some point say maybe ‘that’s not the goal for me.’ I have just been so fortunate this whole way, and not to say that I haven’t worked hard,” she said. “There were so many times where I was in Flint, Michigan and I was seriously eating a bean burrito, just one every day because it was 79 cents and that’s all I could afford.”

  • Amy Robach Diagnosed With Breast Cancer After On-Air Mammogram

Amy Robach Diagnosed With Breast Cancer After On-Air Mammogram

Amy Robach has just revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer, after an on-air screening. Robach is a television journalist and correspondent for ABC news. The TV personality got the test done on her own show, as a part of the October Pink initiative, which encourages viewers to get checked.

At the time, she had no idea how important the mammogram that she participated in would be for her. She is a correspondent on ABC’s popular program, Good Morning America. It was the first ever on-air mammogram, and she was hoping to spread awareness and help out others, not knowing that it may be the thing that would save her own life.

After the initial mammogram that Amy Robach received on the show, the doctors had followed up with more tests, and last week revealed to her that she has breast cancer. Robach is certainly thankful that the test was done that day, and said “I’m so grateful that I got the mammogram that day. Robin’s words still echo inside of me ‘If I got the mammogram on-air and saved one life then it’s all worth it’ she had said. It never occurred to me that that life would be mine.”

She does not yet know how far along the cancer is, but it has been said that she will have a double mastectomy. The news also comes as a great shock to her, since there is no history of the disease in her family.

Amy Robach, the 40-year-old television personality, is married to Andrew Shue, who acted in Melrose Place, and also has two daughters and three stepsons. As can be expected, telling her kids has been one of the hardest things for her.

After this Thursday, when she is scheduled to receive a bilateral mastectomy followed by reconstructive surgery, Robach will know even more about her condition. She has been preparing herself, and while it is a scary thing for anyone to face, she is being brave when saying “Only then will I know more about what that fight will fully entail, but I am mentally and physically as prepared as anyone can be in this situation.

Amy Robach is incredibly thankful for everyone who urged her to get the mammogram done, and in the end, the mammogram that she received in front a national audience, may have saved her life.

  • Jimmy Kimmel: Should He Be the One Fired for Remark?

Jimmy Kimmel: Should He Be the One Fired for Remark?

There have still been many protests over the weekend because of the ABC network and Jimmy Kimmel situation that occured last month on the show. People are touting signs all over the country that say things like, “Fire Jimmy Kimmel” and “No Fake Apology”. The question is, who should really be fired, if anyone, for the events that transpired? The fallout came from a segment on Kimmel’s show called “Kid’s Table”, where he asks kids about current events in order to garner their adorable opinions.

When he asked one child how the U.S. should deal with its out-of-control debt problem, the kid said we should kill all the people in China. What happens to be the problem, is that Kimmel didn’t make the remarks, a child did. He also reportedly tried to defuse the situation. What people have a problem with, is why the segment was even aired at all, when there was an obvious risk of backlash, according to Yahoo. Is that Jimmy Kimmel’s fault?

The trouble doesn’t stop at protests in the streets and signs that Kimmel and his colleagues may never see. ABC has already agreed to no longer air the “Kid Table” segment amidst the outcry, and now the White House has a We the People petition with 103,000 signatures of people who seek a “sincere apology”. Because regulating apologies is a job for Uncle Sam to be concerned with, apparently.

The other concern is how deep will the scorn reach? ABC is owned by Disney. So, what will happen if people start to protest Disney or if advertising boycotts ensue? In as sensitive a society as we live in today, there is no telling what will happen as this situation unfolds. However, Disney could be in some pretty hot water soon if some serious damage control isn’t ordered soon.

  • Sam Donaldson Acquitted of DUI Charges

Sam Donaldson Acquitted of DUI Charges

DUI charges against Sam Donaldson have been dismissed, according to the AP. A Delaware judge has ruled that police lacked cause to arrest him and lacked evidence for the charges brought from that fateful night last December.

Police say the officer that stopped Donaldson in the town of Lewes for a traffic violation determined that the 79-year-old veteran news anchor had been drinking. She then gave Donaldson a field sobriety test, and Donaldson, a resident of McLean, Virginia, was charged with drunk driving.

The arresting officer, Katie Couchman, testified that she saw Donaldson’s car driving on the shoulder of the road, weaving from one side of the shoulder to the other. When she pulled him over, he rolled down his driver’s window and spoke to her and she said she immediately smelled alcohol. She also stated that she saw an opened but re-corked wine bottle near the passenger’s seat, according to delmarvanow.com.

She said Donaldson’s story was that his girlfriend had broken her hip that day when they were riding bikes, and that he was going to visit her at Beebe Medical Center. He said he’d had dinner and was bringing his girlfriend leftovers. He admitted that while at the restaurant, he’d had “a few glasses of wine.” She also testified that he failed verbal, as well as physical sobriety tests.

Sam Donaldson’s case was aquitted anyway and defense attorney Eric Mooney said he was “extremely satisfied” with the outcome of the case. When the verdict was announced, Donaldson strolled over to Coachman and, in an act of good will, said, “You did your duty as you saw fit. I bear no animus toward you whatsoever.”

Donaldson’s long and respectable career was marred by this unfortunate incident. His career at ABC News included a run chief White House correspondent and co-host of the show, “PrimeTime Live”. He was also the co-host of the immensely popular “This Week with Sam Donaldson and Cokie Roberts.”

  • ABC News Anchor Elizabeth Vargas Seeks Treatment

ABC News anchor Elizabeth Vargas is currently in rehabilitation for alcohol dependency. At fifty-one years old, the host of ABC News specials and co-anchor of ABC’s 20/20 has checked herself into rehab, which has been confirmed by the network. She has worked for the network since 1996, and is married to fifty-four year old Marc Cohn, a singer, songwriter, and musician, who is best known for his song, “Walking in Memphis.” She also has two sons, named Zachary, who is ten years old, and Samuel, seven.

The New York Daily News was the first to report the story, stating how Vargas has been in a “well-respected rehab center” for approximately three weeks. Vargas has confirmed the story in a statement, which gives reason for her absence on 20/20 in recent weeks.

“Like so many people, I am dealing with addiction. I realized I was becoming increasingly dependent on alcohol. And feel fortunate to have recognized it for the problem it was becoming,” she said. Those who are close to Vargas, including ABC’s team, continue to support Vargas through her difficult time.

“We look forward to having her back home at ABC News, where she has done so much distinguished work over the years. Elizabeth is a member of our family, and we will support her in every way we can,” said ABC News representative Jeffrey Schneider.

Elizabeth Vargas also hopes to motivate others to seek assistance, as she states: “I am in treatment and am so thankful for the love and support of my family, friends and colleagues at ABC News. Like so many others, I will deal with this challenge one day at a time. If coming forward today gives one other person the courage to seek help, I’m grateful.”

  • Khandi Alexander Begins “Scandal” Run Tonight

Khandi Alexander, of “Treme”, “CSI:Miami”, and “ER” fame, also known from “NewsRadio”, if you remember that far back, has been tapped to join the cast of the immensely popular show, “Scandal“. She will start today, to play the role of Maya Lewis, who is Olivia Pope’s (Kerry Washington) mother, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

This will be a unique role, in that it will be in flashback form. It was revealed during last week’s episode that Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and Jake (Scott Foley) discovered that Maya Lewis apparently died on a civilian airliner that was shot down by Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) before he became President.

Goldwyn had this to say about the plot line, “The audience can imagine what that must be like to find out that your mother was murdered along with hundreds of other people. So the fact that her father was behind it is incomprehensible. It’s going to really complicate [Olivia and Rowan’s relationship] because Rowan remains a very dangerous person. It’s not like everyone can just expose him or take him out. It becomes a very volatile and dangerous situation. You can imagine how devastating it is for Olivia.”

The choice ended ongoing speculation about who would take on the coveted role, with other guesses including such names as Phylicia Rashad, Lynn Whitfield, and Jenifer Lewis.

Khandi Alexander is a very highly-respected actress in TV land. She won a Vision Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for the “Treme” role in 2011, and was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series in 2012. Not too shabby.

Scandal airs tonight and every Thursday at 10pm on ABC.

  • Elizabeth Vargas Checks Into Rehab

If you have been wondering why Elizabeth Vargas has been missing from her desk on ABC’s “20/20”, we finally have an answer. ABC confirmed Wednesday that Vargas has checked into a rehab facility to battle her alcohol addiction.

ABC is fully supportive of Vargas and says she will have her job waiting on her when she gets better. “We look forward to having her back home at ABC News where she has done so much distinguished work over the years,” said ABC News representative Jeffrey Schneider. “Elizabeth is a member of our family and we will support her in every way we can.” In the meantime, Vargas’ co-anchor, David Muir, will continue to host the show.

“She’s checked herself into a facility, and she’s getting treatment,” a source close to Vargas said. “She’s been there for a few weeks and will be there for another few weeks.”

Vargas realized that she was becoming increasingly more dependent on alcohol and recognized that it was time for her to seek professional help.

“I realized I was becoming increasingly dependent on alcohol,” she said. “And feel fortunate to have recognized it for the problem it was becoming. I am in treatment and am so thankful for the love and support of my family, friends and colleagues at ABC News. Like so many others, I will deal with this challenge one day at a time. If coming forward today gives one other person the courage to seek help, I’m grateful.”

Vargas joined ABC for “Good Morning America” in 1996, and then became co-anchor of “20/20” in 2004.

  • George Strait: Entertainer of the Year?

George Strait is up for Entertainer of the Year at tonight’s Country Music Awards, but he’s up against a crop of newer, younger performers: Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, according to ABC.

Will the over 6,000 voters give Strait his third trophy or will one of the younger stars make off with it? The question is, who deserves it more?

The 61-year-old has been a staple of country music since his first trophy back in 1989, and before that. There is also this fact to consider, that all of the younger nominees owe one aspect of their career or another to George Strait.

“For me George is always going to be the guy who let me open up his shows when I was 17 and it was at that point in my life the biggest break I’d gotten as far as live touring because I got to be on the George Strait tour,” Taylor Swift said. “I learned so much from performing on an in-the-round stage and I think that he over the years has been so supportive, and I’ll get a text every now and then from him just sort of wishing me well. He’s just such a class act. He’s just such an incredible example of how to be a gracious, humble, well-respected human being.”

Luke Bryan has his own two cents to add of the country music legend and most nominated artist at the CMA’s:

“When I moved to town, I kind of wanted a career like George Strait. A long career that starts here and it’s always been on George’s terms. And he’s always cut amazing songs and wonderful music and had a long career that you can tell looks like he’s always enjoyed it. And he’s always been happy.”

Even Blake Shelton, who is a fan favorite and star on “The Voice” knows that to win, the youngsters will have to overcome the overwhelming respect for George Strait’s career longevity and success,

“In my opinion when all is said and done,” Shelton said in an email, “there will be two artists viewed as the greatest influences on country music: Hank Williams Sr. and George Strait.”

Wow. That’s really saying something! Time will tell if the veteran will come out on top and redeem himself for his troubled year, or if the newer stars will take the trophy and be celebrated for the change they have brought to the genre. Watch tonight at 8/7C on ABC.

  • Ginnifer Goodwin Engaged To Co-Star Josh Dallas

Ginnifer Goodwin, the actress known for her role as Mary Margaret, or Snow White on Once Upon A Time, is engaged to her co-star, Josh Dallas. Fans of the show know what that means for her character, as the show combines the real world with fairy tales. Throughout the first season, it slowly reveals the true identities of all of the townspeople living in a fictional town in Maine, conveniently called Storybrooke. On the show, Goodwin and Dallas play Snow White and Prince Charming, lovers in the show and apparently that love affair translated to their real lives as well.

The couple have been dating since the fall of 2011, when Once Upon A Time premiered. Goodwin has also appeared in several films, before her role in the popular ABC show, including Mona Lisa Smile, and most recently, romantic comedies such as He’s Just Not That Into You and Something Borrowed. The actress also starred in the HBO show Big Love from 2006-2011. She is set to play Jacqueline Kennedy in a TV movie called Killing Kennedy, which premieres on November 10. According to E Online, this will be the second marriage for Dallas, and the first for Goodwin, who broke off her engagement to Joey Kern in May of 2011.

There is no word on a wedding date yet, but Dallas popped the big question to Goodwin on Wednesday October 9th, in Los Angeles. The couple met on the set before the show started, but did not go public with their relationship until April of 2012. Part of the reason for this was that they had to remain as friends in the beginning due to Dallas’ marriage to Lara Pulver, but it appears that the couple felt a connection with one another right away. The couple said in a statement to People Magazine, “We are so thrilled to announce our engagement and can’t wait to celebrate with our friends and family, including our second family at Once Upon a Time.”

They certainly make the perfect couple on the show, and fans of the show can now be even more excited, knowing that they will be able to carry that over into a real-life marriage. Once Upon A Time just started started its third season on September 29, and airs on Sundays at 8 p.m.

  • Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD Gets Full Season Order

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, quite possibly the most anticipated new show of the fall batch of shows, has been picked up for a full season. This was certainly an expected move to be made, but nonetheless, fans of the new show can rejoice and know that they will be able to watch their new favorite characters for a full 22 episode season. The show’s pilot was picked up by ABC, and fans of the superhero franchise everywhere were immediately excited about the news.

The show is based on The Avengers film and comics, and in a way like never before, the show will focus on the characters that are normally ignored in the major films of the Marvel universe. It focuses on the agency that recruits the superheroes that everyone is already familiar with, such as Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor. SHIELD stands for Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, and is led by Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), who works to recruit and train the younger agents. The show will follow Coulson and his new team of agents as they attempt to track down people with superhero abilities.

The cast is certainly happy about ABC’s decision and took to twitter to show their excitement.

While none of the superheroes from the films are expected to star on the show, the agency does retain its star in Clark Gregg from the films to play Agent Coulson. The show is directed by Joss Whedon, and this will mark his full broadcast season since the WB’s final season of Angel concluded in 2004, although Dollhouse aired for two short seasons on Fox. Dollhouse was cancelled early, however many fans of Whedon’s work, who also created Buffy The Vampire Slayer, adored the show during its short run on the network. Whedon is known for his show’s similarities in a number of ways, including the types of dialogue, relationships between characters, and recurring cast members.

While the Marvel comic books have inspired numerous films and earned a countless amount of money, this is the first time that the franchise has been featured on TV. The series is co-created by Joss Whedon, his brother Jed Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen. Although none of the Marvel stars are main characters on the show, it has been stated that certain fan favorites may show up at some point during the series, and as Gregg teased to all of the fans, “Anybody could show up at any time.” Samuel L. Jackson already showed up briefly to reprise his role as Nick Fury, and Colbie Smulders, who had a small part in The Avengers, appeared briefly as Agent Maria Hill. We are guaranteed to see more of these characters throughout the show, but who will they be?

Agents Of SHIELD has already had great success with both fans and critics, opening to a incredibly high premiere of almost 12 million viewers. This made it TV’s best drama debut in four years, since ABC’s remake of the sci-fi series V, which coincidentally starred Morena Baccarin, who was also in Whedon’s cult favorite Firefly.

Stay up to date with one of the most popular new shows on television, and tune in to ABC on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. to see new episodes of Agents of SHIELD.

  • ABC’s “Lucky 7” First on the Fall Chopping Block

The ABC network has been making headlines all day. Their fall production line of drama series have garnered record-breaking numbers. However, their series “Lucky 7” didn’t quite make the record-setting list for laudable reasons, which is exactly why the show is getting the ax. ABC announced that the network plans to cancel the drama series “Lucky 7” after airing only two episodes.

With a mere 4.4 million viewers, the “Lucky 7” series premiere produced the lowest fall premiere ratings ever for an ABC drama series. Out of that 4.4 million viewers, the show only attracted 1.3 million adults in the popular 18-49 viewership age group. Then, to add insult to injury, the ratings saw even lower woes in the second week. Barely pulling in 2.6 million viewers, the staggering drop equated to a 41 percent decline in viewership. The percentage decline knocked the series to a 0.7 rank.

“Lucky 7” was originally a television adaptation for a British production. Critics initially clobbered the series with foreboding reviews after the pre-launch, labeling it as ‘sappy and silly.’ The drama series centered around seven impoverished Queens, NY residents employed at a gas station. The lucky seven employees initially win and split a $45 million lottery fortune. However, the great fortune doesn’t bring them much luck in other areas of their lives. The show goes touches on the heartaches and trials they endure as a resulted of their acquired windfall.

Repeats of the ABC hit series, “Scandal” will fill the show’s 10:00pm time slot starting next Tuesday.

  • ‘Scandal’ Hits Ratings High with 10.51 Million Viewers

“Scandal” is scorching, and it just got even hotter. The months of anticipation finally reached a erupting point on Thursday as Scandal fanatics around the country tuned in to catch the kick off of season three. Last night, the third season of the ABC political drama premiered, attracting a staggering 10.51 million viewers. USA Today reported that according to the Nielsen preliminary ratings, last night’s debut was recorded as a series high.

In case you missed it, here’s the gist of last night’s scorcher. The Scandal season premiere opened with prolific problem-solver, Olivia Pope, now facing her own life spiraling out of control. Her affair with the president has been made public by a ‘Post Style-section reporter.” The episode picks up right where season two ended, with Pope still in the back seat of the limo with Rowan, the head of B613, who is actually her father.

As the limo takes off, he states his disdain about the entire debacle. Daddy Pope is disappointed that Olivia would fall prey to “opening her knees,” and believing in the fairytale that a man of Fitz’s status would leave his wife to be with her. He also stated that she’d be the first Fitz would ‘throw under the bus’ to clear himself.

The episode went on to reveal that a Secret Service Agent actually started the media frenzy stating that Fitz was having an affair with one of his most trusted advisors. However, he claims he did not leak Olivia’s name. While the reporter actually didn’t have a name at the time, it was enough ammunition to do a little digging. So, the question of the night was who would actually leak Olivia’s name?

In a suspenseful twist, it was revealed that Fitz actually did leak Olivia’s name – with, of course, the help of one of his secret service agents. He instructed the agent to leak name drop, as a means of protecting her from his wife, Mellie. It’s only the beginning, but it definitely leaves a lot of anticipation for the duration of the season.

The debut ratings were up approximately 57% from last fall’s season premiere. An estimated 3.6 million of the total number of viewers were comprised of adults ranging from 18-49, which equates to a 71% increase in that particular age range from last year’s premiere. Last night’s ratings were also an overall 13% increase from the previous viewing record in the season two finale.

  • Rebel Wilson Gets Her Own Show In “Super Fun Night”

Rebel Wilson, a comedic actress who has gained fame in recent years, has been given her own show. She is an Australian actress, writer and stand-up comedian. She has previously been seen in comedy films such as Bridesmaids and What To Expect When You’re Expecting. She was also the first woman cast in Pitch Perfect, and gained a ton of recognition for her role as Fat Amy in the film.

The new show features her as the main star and writer, and is brought to audiences by executive producer Conan O’Brien. While it was hard not to fall in love with her and the other actresses featured in Bridesmaids, this show just does not feel right. For starters, the name of the show makes it sound like an immature and shortly lived kind of show. It almost makes it sound as if the show is not able to last more than one night and E Online mentions that you’ll quickly realize that Wilson’s outrageous behavior that we all loved in her movies will smother you, when packed into a mere 22 minutes.

It is hard to imagine dealing with her antics on a weekly basis, but perhaps some people will enjoy it. Wilson stars as Kimmie Boubier, a recently promotoed junior attorney who is used to spending every Friday night with her two best friends, Helen-Alice and Marika. In an attempt to bond with her new attractive boss and her bitchy co-worker, she rallies the girls together in order to continue to spend their Friday nights out on the city, enjoying the nightlife.

According to the Los Angeles Times, after the network ditched the original (and terrible) pilot, the show premieres with its (slightly less terrible) second episode. In this episode, we meet Kimmie Boubier, a pretty and sweet young woman apparently still damaged from abuse suffered at the hands of adolescent mean girls. She plays the typical fat girl who is determined to think of herself as a loser and surrounds herself in a trio of friends while the others are neurotic (Helen-Alice) and a social klutz (Marika). The Times continues to go on and say that “Wilson’s attraction is her often seemingly oblivious dismissal of the ridiculous restrictions on femininity.” She doesn’t want to be bothered by what others think of her and that is great, but it doesn’t sound as if this show gives her the ability to do that.

Super Fun Night premieres tonight at 9:30 on ABC. While Wilson’s brand of comedy has been wildly succcessful in her films, it does not look like this show will be able to achieve that same success.

  • Malin Akerman Brings Comedy To ABC In “Trophy Wife”

Malin Akerman, a Swedish actress, has been in several films over the years and appeared with brief stints on a number of television shows as well. If you have not heard her name before now, it may be just because many of her roles have been in independent films, or she has simply just been a minor character in the film.

Her most recent project is a comedy on ABC called Trophy Wife. Previously, she has appeared in films such as 27 Dresses, Couples Retreat, and many more. She has been seen in several films, but never received much recognition for her work and perhaps turned to television as a way to remedy that. Her new show, Trophy Wife, centers around Akerman as she tries to fit in as the third wife to an older man, stepparent his three kids and deal with his meddling ex wives, according to US Weekly. Of course, a character like this would be seen as a trophy wife, as Akerman is a younger blonde that an older guy would want more than his ex-wives who are all much older.

She is forced to keep her cool while she deals with his first ex, the other star of the show, Marcia Gay Harden. Akerman plays Kate, a reformed party girl, who finds dififculty dealing with kids for the first time. Her new husband is played by Bradley Whitford and his other ex-wife is Michaela Watkins. Akerman has always had an appreciation for comedy and gravitated toward the genre partly because of her parents and their silliness. NBC News mentions that the 35-year-old actress also recently became a mother in real life, and the news came shortly after she accepted the role.

She has also turned to television after feeling that her slew of films was getting to be too hectic of a schedule for her, and wanted more time with her family. She said of the role, “You know what? I would love to just be home, be with my husband, be with my friends and just kind of have more of a regular schedule.”

Trophy Wife premiered on September 24, and will continue airing on Tuesdays at 9:30 throughout the Fall season. It airs on ABC, following the new series The Goldbergs.

  • Courtney Robertson To Release “Juicy” Book

Thirty-year-old Courtney Robertson received the final rose on The Bachelor during season 16. However, she has now traded in that rose for a book deal with HarperCollins Publishers.

The book aims to release intimate details about Courtney’s behind-the-scenes involvement with the show. Her persona as a television vixen may have contributed to the title of the book, which will be called I Didn’t Come Here to Make Friends: Confessions of a Reality Show Villain.

Her relationship with Ben Flajnik, the show’s star, ended in October of 2012, after dating for less than a year. The following video shows a compilation of Courtney’s time during the show’s 2011 ABC season.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYTBAIg52PY

Courtney Robertson recently spoke with Us where she delved into her time on The Bachelor as well as her upcoming book.

Appearing on the popular television show might seem like a dream to most people; however, Courtney had to live through an unpleasant side of being so well-known. “Going on The Bachelor was the most amazing opportunity I’ve ever had but I did not have a fairy tale ending,” Courtney said before adding, “The girls hated me, my modeling career was destroyed and Ben and I had a tumultuous 11-month relationship that ultimately imploded. There are two sides to every story.”

So, why the sudden interest in reliving situations from the past? Courtney Robertson explained. “I wanted a chance to talk about what went down from my perspective, because I think there are a lot of misconceptions out there about me,” she said.

Should anyone affiliated with the show during Courtney’s stint with the program be concerned about potentially embarrassing details? Courtney has not been forthcoming about what type of specific details will definitely surface from the book, but she did give some indication.”Writing the book has been very cathartic. I’ve definitely learned a lot about myself and love! I think fans of the show are going to love it, it’s totally juicy and hilarious,” she said.

  • Pixar Is Coming To TV With Toy Story of TERROR!

Pixar Is Coming To TV With Toy Story of TERROR!

In case you might have missed the news, Pixar is making a Halloween special for ABC (which is owned by Disney) using the gang from Toy Story, which should be all you need to get excited. The special airs on October 16, and after watching the nifty little preview, which comes courtesy of Huffington Post. The special, Toy Story of TERROR!, looks like it’s going to immediately earn a place among such holiday season classics like It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (well, all of the Charlie Brown holiday specials) and Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer.

Check out the trailer. If you’re a fan of Pixar/Toy Story, your excitement meter will increase considerably:

What starts out as a fun road trip for the “Toy Story” gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved..

If it were possible to set a DVR a month in advance, mine would already be set. As you can probably tell, TSoT will feature the voice talent you’ve come to expect with Woody, Buzz, and the gang. This, of course, includes Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, and Wallace Shawn. According to the report, the awesome Carl Weathers will be joining the cast as a character named Combat Carl.

Again, look for Toy Story of TERROR! on October 16 on ABC.

  • Stephen Colbert and Hugh Laurie “Bring it” to Broadcast TV

Drop a challenge? Leave it up to funny man pundit Stephen Colbert to lay down a gauntlet.

During an episode of the Colbert Report, a popular late-night cable show, he paired up with British actor Sir Hugh Laurie for an airing that was anything but typical.

An appeal for a broader interpretation of television’s indecency standards by multiple broadcast networks prompted Colbert to dish up his own bawdy brand of comedy in response. He, along with Laurie, with much dramatic air, spoke aloud phrases such as “nutsack” and “cooch juice”; seemingly labeled too “hot” for broadcast television. ABC, CBS and NBC, television’s broadcast “trinity,” say that under the current standards, they cannot maintain the level of viewership enjoyed by powerhouses’ such as Viacom.

It wasn’t the first time Colbert was reported as upsetting the boundaries acceptability. According to FCC reports, there have been more than a dozen complaints for indecency levied against the Colbert Report and the late-night talk show host. One report, submitted by phone to the FCC in 2008 says an episode of the Colbert Report advocates racist violence.

“The Colbert Report featured Toby Keith as a guest star. Toby Keith performed a racist song that advocates lynching. The song includes the following lyrics: ‘Grandpappy told my pappy back in my day, son A man had to answer for the wicked that he’d done. Take all the rope in Texas Find a tall oak tree, round up all of them bad boys Hang them high in the street For all the people to see’ The violent, racist history of the southern U.S. is nothing to be proud of. This blatant advocation of lynching is highly offensive and has no place on the air.”

Another FCC complaint characterized the Colbert Report as promoting necrophilia.

“Colbert did a report about a new exhibit dedicated solely to dead bodies having sex as part of the Body Worlds exhibitions. Onscreen for several minutes was a photo of one of the displays from the exhibit featuring the dead bodies of a man and a woman having sex. The woman was seated upright on top of the man. I was not happy to have my teenage son see this.”

When responding to broadcast networks’ “cultural appeal” for freedom, Colbert taunted with a biting wit.

“ You can whack my bag anytime.”

  • Bristol Palin, Joan Rivers to Swap Families on ‘Wife Swap’

Bristol Palin, the daughter of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, is once again diving into the world of reality TV. Bristol came to fame during her mother’s 2008 run for Vice President, when it was revealed that she, only 17 years old at the time, had become pregnant out of wedlock. Now, she will be handing over her four-year-old son, Trip, to the world’s most famous insult comic.

Palin will appear in the upcoming season of ABC reality show Celebrity Wife Swap. She will be swapping lives and families with comic Joan Rivers. Rivers and her daughter, Melissa, will be heading to Wasilla, Alaska, while Bristol and her sister Willow will be moving into the Rivers’ Los Angeles area home.

Palin has been trying to make it on reality TV for years at this point. In 2010 she appeared on the 11th season of ABC ballroom dance competition Dancing with the Stars, coming in third place. Last year she starred in her own short-lived reality TV show titled Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp.

  • ESPN Layoffs Confirmed, Details Emerging

Yesterday, rumors began to surface that sports TV news station ESPN will soon be laying off some of its employees. Now, the company, which is owned mainly by The Walt Disney Company, has confirmed that layoffs are incoming. ESPN has released a short statement on the matter:

We are implementing changes across the company to enhance our continued growth while smartly managing costs. While difficult, we are confident that it will make us more competitive, innovative and productive.

Though the layoffs have been confirmed, the announcement still hasn’t made it clear how major the cuts will be. It is also not yet known where the cuts will be made within the company.

According to a Deadspin report, the number of layoffs is rumored to be “in the hundreds,” with 400 employees seeming to be the over/under. The report cites unnamed sources as stating a majority of the layoffs so far have come from “technology” positions. Disney has reportedly put pressure on ESPN to meet its profit margin, encouraging all divisons at the station to cut back on costs. ESPN’s profit margins have reportedly lowered recently due to the station buying the rights to several major live sporting events, including NFL games.

  • Kellie Pickler Wins ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Months of dancing and training all led up to one final episode of Dancing With the Stars. Now, Kellie Pickler has been crowned the latest champion of ABC’s network TV ballroom dancing competition.

Pickler won the final round of Dancing With the Stars by out-dancing Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman and actress Zendaya Coleman. Along the way she also survived the competition while stars such as Wynonna Judd, D.L. Hughley, Dorothy Hamill, and Andy Dick. Pickler’s dancing partner on the show was Derek Hough, a four-time winner of the competition and the brother of two-time Dancing With the Stars winner Julianne Hough.

This is not the first experience Pickler has had with reality TV. The country singer first gained fame in 2006 as a contestant on Fox’s American Idol karaoke competition. Since that time, Pickler has gone on to produce several hit country songs, including “Red High Heels” and “I Wonder.” She has also appeared in the pages of Maxim magazine, stripping down in tribute to U.S. soldiers in the magazine’s “Salute to the Military” special issue in 2012.

Pickler was elated with her victory, jumping up and screaming at the announcement. The singer has already taken to Twitter to thank her fans for voting:
