iPhone 7?: Marketing Firm Asks Apple To Not Call New Phone 6s

iPhone 7 would be preferrable to iPhone 6s for one marketing company in New York.

6s Marketing has asked, in some very quirky and attention-getting ways, that Apple’s new phone be called the iPhone 7 rather than the iPhone 6s, which would trump their company’s claim on the moniker.

6s Marketing has posted ads all over the city asking Apple, in “Dear Apple” form, to go with iPhone 7.

The ads have captured the attention of citizens all over the place due to their interesting premise and simplistic styling.

6s president, Chris Breikss, said in a statement that the name of the company is sentimental and pleas for Apple to consider iPhone 7.

He said, “The name came from a custom license plate on a Mercedes that my father and I spotted when I was 11 years old — it read SSS SSS. After much deliberation, we realized that translated to ‘six-esses,’ or ‘successes.’ Years later, that eventually became the name of our company.”

He added that the name 6s is very important and said, “After the iPhone 4S and 5S launched, we realized that our once-unique name could be in jeopardy, linked to the most popular mobile device in the world. We love Apple’s products; most of us use iPhones on a daily basis, and we’re flattered to potentially share the same name.”

He continued, “However, we would prefer that Apple change the naming convention and consider calling their next phone the iPhone 7.”

While this likely won’t be a successful strategy leading to an iPhone 7 announcement on the 9th, it will probably still be amazing promotion for 6s Marketing.

And that was probably the plan all along, now, wasn’t it?

What do you think about 6s’s attempt to get Apple to go with iPhone 7 for the new phone?

  • Harry Potter Real Sequel? Chris Columbus Is In.

Harry Potter fans are all excited about the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them spin-off film. The J.K. Rowling work is predicted to mollify Harry Potter fanatics who have longed for more of the Hogwarts world ever since the credits rolled on Deathly Hallows.

When asked if he might make a cameo appearance in the Fantastic Beasts film, Daniel Radcliffe gave a definite no. But what about coming back to actually play Harry Potter in a full-blown Potter film?

“I don’t know,” Radcliffe said, “I really have no idea. I don’t know if J.K. Rowling has any plans to write anymore of the series with Harry as a central character. In the last story she wrote Harry is 35, so I’m not old enough to play that yet. Thank god, too, otherwise I’d definitely be getting asked about that. In terms of Fantastic Beasts though I definitely won’t be showing up in that.”

But now another voice has joined the chorus of those longing for more Harry Potter. Chris Columbus, who directed the Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets films, says he would be up for a new Potter film.

Columbus told Entertainment Weekly, “I would love to go back and do another one. Not ‘Fantastic Beasts’ as much, which I think is going to be amazing, but I would love to do another movie with those three characters – Harry, Hermione, and Ron.”

“I’m just fascinated about what happened to them after the end of the last movie, because then they cut to 18 years ahead. There’s 18 years there of great Harry Potter stories. There has to be a great story in Harry’s life at that point. Hopefully [J.K. Rowling] will maybe think about doing that. Even if I wouldn’t make a movie, I’d still like to read those stories,” Colombus said.

For now, fans have Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is set for a release in U.S theaters on November 18, 2016.
