  • New York Giants, Who’s To Blame?

The New York Giants had much promise and hope before the season started. The string of five losses for the 2013 season has dampened some of the enthusiasm for fans. The following video shows an overview of anticipated player performance considering both the offense and defense prior to the start of the season.

The team is filled with talented players where the performance for the season has been baffling. Though many can critique individual players or point fingers at the team’s dynamics, Prince Amukamar offered his own insight.

Prince Amukamara, the cornerback for the team, spoke about the lack of cohesion the team has experienced during games.

“I mean the energy before we go out to the game, it seems like everybody is all in. It seems like we’re about to go out and do something special, but all three phases of the team have to play together and it doesn’t look like we did that [referring to game against the Eagles]. It didn’t look like we finished,” Amukamara said.

The following video shows a critique of the New York Giants where the plausibility of Coach Coughlin remaining for another season is debated.

The Giants coach, Tom Coughlin, echoed Amukamara’s sentiments about the team not working as one collective unit while admitting that the head coach does ultimately receive the responsibility (and blame) when the team loses.

“I know that we’re maligning my quarterback today and believe me, there’s a bunch of people involved in that. Those things don’t happen just one on one now. It’s a team concept. Whether you have a pressure situation, whether you have somebody that comes loose in front of him and he tries to move, whether the receiver doesn’t do what he’s supposed to do, whether people don’t come back for the ball whatever it is. It’s a team game, and yes, the head coach is the guy that’s responsible for the losses, and the players need to be there for each other in all circumstances and in this one, criticizing the quarterback for the outcome for everything there at the end of the game really is not right,” Coughlin said.

  • Jordan Spieth Not Like Many 20-Year-Olds

Jordan Spieth Not Like Many 20-Year-Olds

The Tour Championship showcased the talents of the 20-year-old who just last year was a sophomore at the University of Texas. Even though Henrik Stenson won the Tour Championship, the FedEx Cup, and the prize money, everyone can’t help but talk about the young rookie who played close on his heels.

Jordan Spieth won the John Deere Classic in July, making him the youngest winner of a PGA Tour event in the last 82 years. Adding to his accomplishments it was noted that at the end of the PGA Tour this season he was 10-under 270. Not bad for a 20-year-old. In fact, it’s more than not bad — the young athlete is quite impressive.

Jordan spoke openly about his experiences during the 2013 year where he initially started with no PGA Tour status and was originally placed on the lower-tier Web.com Tour. “It’s been a dream come true. The beginning of the year, my goal was just to get on Tour next season. It was just to get my 2014 PGA Tour card. I thought that it would come through the Web.com Tour this year. Those couple of weeks at Puerto Rico and Tampa really changed my golf life. To be able to play the PGA Tour this year, and then obviously (winning) the John Deere opened things up.”

Don’t expect Jordan to get a big head and rest on his laurels after these successes.

“I won’t stop until the President’s Cup. There’s no need to let everything sink in. I’ve got to stay focused, start letting anything sink in about the year, it’s maybe not as intense about the next tournament,” he said.

The talented golfer shared his enthusiasm with his Twitter followers, where other viewers were happy to return the enthusiasm.

  • Ben Roethlisberger Struggling This Season

Steelers heartbreak happened for the second time this season when the Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers with a final score of Steelers 21 and Bengals 23. The dismal season to-date for Ben Roethlisberger becomes obvious when considering his plays thus far, which include having passed only 442 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions for the total of the two games. That’s an average of one-for-one with only two games into the season.

When battling the Bengals in the second game of the season for the Steelers, Roethlisberger passed 251 yards and made one touchdown. Fans should not be too disheartened with Roethlisberger’s performance just yet since he has the reputation for putting on the heat when the pressure rises. The video recap of the Steelers and Bengals showdown on Monday night proves how close the two teams competed for the win.

Though only two games into the season, fans have started voicing concerns that Ben Roethlisberger is being viewed as a caricature of himself where his skills and hype are disproportionate to the observable performances and expectations placed upon his broad shoulders. However, the season is just starting and the famous quarterback still has time to prove himself before being subjected to another potential discarding. Whether the Steelers will redeem themselves this season is anyone’s guess; however, in the meantime people are all too happy to comment on the potential outcomes for the season.

  • Pittsburgh Steelers “No Time To Panic” Says QB

Fall is in the air and football is here. This is good news for fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers even though the beginning has proven to be a rocky process. In the first home-opener loss in eleven years, the Pittsburgh Steelers were defeated by Tennessee with a score of 16-9.

When asked whether the disappointing start to the 2013 season was confidence-threatening Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said, “No, it’s not confidence-threatening. We expect to win every game no matter who we are playing or where we are playing so we obviously had high expectations going into that game, but this is the NFL and on any given Sunday if you don’t play very well then you’re going to get beat.”

Ben Roethlisberger has been sacked five times, but remains encouraging about the talents and prospects for the team. He spoke about the 2013 season in hopeful optimism even though a loss happened early in the season. “We lost a game in week one. Yeah, we didn’t play very well at all on offense, but there’s no time to panic right now. Let’s get ready to bounce back,” said Roethlisberger.

Members of the team are ready to prove themselves this season regardless of the loss early in the season, and fans are eager and excited to watch the team play some football this season.

Everyone can’t be a fan though, and some within the Twittersphere remain skeptical about the team as well as people who support the team.

  • Notre Dame Football Looks Ahead To The Season

Are you ready for some football? Notre Dame sure is. According to coach, Brian Kelly, “We’re like everybody else in college football: extremely excited about starting the season. For us here at Notre Dame, we’ve worked hard to put ourselves in a position to be back in the national spotlight. We have no intention of giving that up.”

The Fall Training Camp at Shiloh Park proved to provide the team with extensive preseason workouts and training. The fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see the fruits of the team’s labors put into practice. The lineup includes a sound defense with the likes of Louis Nix III and Stephon Tuitt; however, the real test will come on the afternoon of August 31, 2013, during the first game of the season against Temple.

Though the fans of the team will be excited to see the talents of the team in full action, there is other news that may not be so well received by the fans. According to Forbes, Notre Dame has been ranked as having the most expensive college football tickets with the average amount being $293.90. The other top four most expensive college football tickets are as follows: Notre Dame ($294), Ohio State ($246), Michigan ($230), Nebraska ($210) and Texas A&M ($204) as listed on Forbes. TiqIQ compiled the data on ticket prices.

The 2013 football team lineup listed below was shared on the team’s Twitter account.

Are fans or the players, themselves, more excited for the season to begin? Right now it appears that this question could be a toss-up.
