Shanola Hampton, one of the stars of Showtime’s hit series Shameless, just announced her pregnancy to the public. On the show, Hampton plays the Gallagher family’s neighbor Veronica. Her and her boyfriend Kevin serve as a side plot to the main part of the show, which is dominated by the dysfunctional Gallagher family, run by their constantly drunk father, William H. Macy.

This news comes as a bit of irony, since throughout much of her show, Shameless, Hampton’s character has been attempting to get pregnant. She did everything she could think of including getting her mother involved in the equation, making for a very awkward situation. She is the wild and eccentric best friend to Fiona Gallagher, played by Emmy Rossum. Shameless is adapted from a British television show of the same name and is getting ready to enter its fourth season, with the premiere set for January 12, 2014.

This will be Hampton’s first child, and they are happy to be welcoming a baby girl into the world. She and her husband Daren Dukes have been married for 13 years and currently live in Los Angeles, according to People Magazine. Dukes is the creator and producer of The Dallas Cowboy Show.

Hamtpon is a 36 year old American actress, and a native of South Carolina. Her co-stars and friends had a hard time keeping the news bottled up inside, and were thankful that she finally let it out in the open. The cast of Shameless also got together today for their first table read, which should get fans excited. The cast is even tweeting about it and displaying group pictures of the cast.
