Rosie O’Donnell was running errands on August 14th when she heard a desperate cry for help. Looking around, she saw a large woman trying unsuccessfully to get out of her car. She was stuck, and needed assistance. O’Donnell helped lift the woman enough to free her and went about her day, a good deed done.

However, hours later she was clammy and having chest pains. After doing some research online, she realized she might be having a heart attack and took some aspirin (as she’d been instructed to do by various aspirin commercials). It could be the thing that saved her life. She blogged about the entire incident recently, calling herself “lucky to be here”.

O’Donnell also wrote on the blog that looking at the woman she’d helped was like looking at “the ghost of Christmas Future”.

“Me, if I did not wake,” she wrote. “‘There are no accidents’, I thought as I lifted her.”

O’Donnell was fortunate enough to catch the blockage in time and says she knows how lucky she is. It’s not the first health scare for the comedienne; she revealed recently that her fiance, Michelle Rounds, is suffering from desmoid tumors, a rare disease for which she has undergone surgery.
