Michael Weatherly no doubt made many women cry when he and CBS announced back in January that he was vacating his role as Special Agent Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo on NCIS. How will they feel now, when they realize Michael Weatherly is leaving NCIS, but staying on CBS?

It’s true. Michael Weatherly has signed on to star in a new series called Bull, that portrays the early life of Dr. Phil McGraw before he was a famous television star.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Michael Weatherly will play the role of Dr. Bull, “the head of a company that analyzes juries to help develop defense strategies. He has a physicality and feral intelligence that make him magnetic to women, and a bruising candor.”

Dr. Phil McGraw headed up a renown trial consulting service prior to his days of offering advice on his own TV show.

Michael Weatherly admitted he has enjoyed his run as NCIS’s Tony DiNozzo when he announced his impending departure in January.

“DiNozzo is a wonderful, quixotic character and I couldn’t have had more fun playing him over the past 13 seasons,” he said at the time.

Michael Weatherly played Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo for 13 seasons on NCIS. It was bad enough when actress Cote DePablo left her role as Ziva David.

What will NCIS be like without Anthony DiNozzo?

Did Michael Weatherly take into consideration the hearts he was breaking when he made his choice to leave?

And to think–he’s staying on at CBS.

Michael Weatherly deserves one of those good old slaps on the side of his head delivered by Mark Harmon’s character, Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
