Lamar Odom enjoyed an emotional reunion on Christmas Day when his children visited him in his hospital room at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The former Lakers player has been hospitalized there since October. He accidentally overdosed at a brothel outside of Las Vegas and was transferred to L.A. when his condition was stabilized.

A source spoke to Us Weekly in the days after Christmas about Lamar Odom’s celebration with his kids.

“Lamar is doing way better. He was so happy the kids were there with him for Christmas and they were so happy to be with him,” the source says. “The kids were happy…to bring him gifts, all of his favorite things that they wrapped up. They had so much fun. It was very emotional and very happy.”

13-year-old Lamar Odom, Jr. posted the first photo of his dad to appear on social media since the accidental overdose.

“?? Christmas with my pops. Here’s to 2016. Blessed,” the teen captioned the photo.

Lamar Odom and his ex, Liza Morales, are the parents of Lamar, Jr. and 17-year-old daughter Destiny. The couple also had another son named Jayden who died of SIDS in 2006 at just six months of age.

Lamar Odom is still legally married to Khloe Kardashian, who has supported him wholeheartedly since his near-death experience, and plans to see him through until he is once again able to care for himself. Reports about when or even if that might be possible vary significantly, with some claiming he is making good progress and others stating he can’t remember his name.

Fortunately for both Lamar Odom and his children, they were able to enjoy some time on Christmas Day together. Khloe Kardashian joined in the Christmas festivities, too. These Christmas visits, in fact, be some of the best medicine Lamar has received thus far.
