Joey and Rory Feek have a wealth of awestruck fans, in part for the beautiful music they’ve made, but mostly for the strong Christian faith they share. Even in the midst of Joey Feek’s last days battling stage IV cervical cancer, their faith in Jesus Christ is their strength and their guide.

As Joey and Rory await the release of their upcoming album, Rory Feek admits he won’t record or perform once Joey has passed away. Of course only time will tell if he holds fast to this belief. Fans of the country/bluegrass duo known best as Joey + Rory are likely praying he doesn’t.

It was during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, that Rory spoke of not making any more music after Joey passes away.

“This is the last record that Joey and I will ever get to make and the last songs we’ll ever get to sing together,” he says. “I have no desire to go on singing or performing without her.”

Joey and Rory Feek’s little girl, Indiana, recognizes every track on the upcoming album by heart. Joey Feek rocked her to sleep, while she was still able, singing her the songs.

“Her mama rocked her to sleep singing them and has even taught Indy how to sing along with sign language on ‘Jesus Loves Me,’” Rory tells ET. “Joey singing these songs is a big part of Indy’s life so far, and I know that these songs will go on to be very important to her as she grows up and is able to hear Joey still singing them to her when we play the album.”

Joey and Rory Feek recorded most of their upcoming album, “Hymns That Are Important to Us,” in Nashville, however many of Joey’s final vocals were recorded in a hotel room, near where she was undergoing chemo and radiation treatments.

It was this past fall that doctors told Joey and Rory that the treatments hadn’t worked, and they returned to her childhood home in Indiana, where she has remained under hospice care.

In Rory Feek’s blog, This Life I Live, he shared that he and Joey know the end is near. He also wrote about Joey’s recent conversations with Jesus.

“I’d like to tell you that she’s doing great and is going to beat this thing. But I can’t.”

The new Joey + Rory album comes out on Valentine’s Day. Both Joey and Rory are praying she lives to celebrate its release with him.
