Tumblr has released the latest version of its iPhone app, version 3.0, after much anticipation from users.
New features include high-res images, Spotify support and improved photosets from the dashboard, faster uploads, new shortcuts (like swiping the compose button up for camera, and left for text), offline support (post, like, reply and reblog), a faster interface, and tag search.
Here are five images Tumblr posted on its blog, showing off the various features of the app:
Last month, Tumblr found its way into comScore’s top 50 sites, still a bit under MySpace, but above Discovery Digital Media sites, Cox Enterprises and Target.
Tumblr was recently highlighted in Facebook’s Developer Spotlight, showing that its referral traffic from Facebook has increased by 2.5x since it integrated Facebook’s Open Graph in April. Based on the comScore report, it seems to be helping tremendously.
Better mobile apps should only serve to fuel growth. No word on when we might see a new Android app.
