Hannah Blackwell and season 11 American Idol Phillip Phillips are engaged. The ‘Home’ singer popped the question at Christmas, and his girlfriend–the two met several years back when they were both serving as volunteers–said yes.
Both hailing from Georgia, Phillips talked with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest about his relationship with Blackwell back in 2012 when he was competing on the show.
“She is really excited for me and she’s helped me out a lot through this. I’m hoping she’ll maybe be able to go on tour,” he said back then. “It would be cool having her, she’s supported me so much. Love her, love her to death.”
In November of 2013 he dished about Hannah Blackwell during an interview with Elle magazine.
“My girlfriend is a lot smarter than me so she comes on the road and handles some of the business aspects,” he said. “She meets me at some points. Like I said, she’s smarter than me and likes to read so she goes over things I look past.”
Hannah Blackwell shared a photo of her engagement ring against a backdrop of both a Christmas tree and an ornament she made, featuring her photo, back in 1995.
She captioned the photo, “I’ve been dreaming of this for over 20 years. I’ve been dreaming of this guy for just that long. Overwhelmed with happiness. @phillphill.”
It certainly looks like Hannah Blackwell has just experienced her first dream come true.

Congratulations to both Phillip Phillips and Hannah Blackwell on their Christmas engagement. No word has yet emerged as to when the two will tie the knot.
