If you have ever heard or hummed the tune “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head,” you have heard the lyrical work Hal David, who died on Saturday, September 1st, 2012, at the age of 91.
In 1957, Hal David (born as Harold Lane David) teamed up with composer Burt Bacharach, writing their first hit The Story of My Life, along with various others, such as: I’ll Never Fall in Love Again, Walk On By, What The World Needs Now, I Say a Little Prayer, What’s New Pussycat?, and the award-winning tune Raindrops Keep Falling (sung by BJ Thomas). David and Bacharach’s hit Raindrops Keep Falling was used as one of the main songs of the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
David also worked with other musical geniuses, such as: Willie Nelson, Julio Iglesias, Sarah Vaughan, and Don Gibson.
According to FOX News, Jim Steinblatt, Spokesman for the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) reported that Hal David (a member of ASCAP) passed away due to a stroke at the age of 91.
