Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin spent Thanksgiving together with children Apple, 11, and Moses, nine, on Thursday. Paltrow and Martin are famous for “consciously uncoupling,” which was the term Gwyneth Paltrow used on her Goop website when first announcing their split.

Following their Thanksgiving meal, Gwyneth Paltrow posted a family photo to Instagram.

“Happy Thanksgiving from us to you!” she captioned it.

You’ll notice that Paltrow was on one side of the photo, with Chris Martin on the opposite side.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s divorce was final this past April. He was dating Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence for a while, but that has since ended. He is now reportedly dating actress Annabelle Wallis. Paltrow is dating Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk.

Just a couple of days before Thanksgiving, Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin, their children, and her mom, actress Blythe Danner, were spotted enjoying dinner at The Lion, an upscale West Village establishment.

The family seemed “super happy and chummy” and “looked like a happy, regular family having a big pre-Thanksgiving dinner,” a source tells People magazine.

There’s no doubt that Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow are working hard to keep life normal for their children. But what might happen when one or both of them settles down again and that ex is suddenly a third wheel? Should they perhaps be allowing their kids a healthy dose of reality instead?
