George Clooney will be a married man very soon and it appears fans, friends and family aren’t the only people happy for the 53-year-old actor.

His ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis is also happy about his upcoming wedding. Canalis, who dated Clooney a few years ago, has nothing but well wishes for her famous ex-boyfriend.

During a recent interview, the Italian beauty shared her opinion of her ex’s newfound happiness, reports Yahoo! India News. “I am happy for him, but I am thinking only of my happiness,” she said.

Clooney is set to marry his fiancée Amal Alamuddin in September at his Lake Como home in Laglio, Italy.

Ironically, Clooney isn’t the only one tying the knot in September. Canalis will also be marrying the man in her life on September 14. But, that’s not all! She’ll also be getting hitched in Italy!

Although most fans immediately thought her wedding date had something to do with the Golden Globe-winning actor, she revealed that her decision had nothing to do with her ex’s wedding date. Apparently, it was all just a coincidence!

“I chose the date some time ago and September is the most beautiful time — for those who do not know Sardinia — to appreciate it,” she told the magazine. “Otherwise I would have had to wait a year.”

She went on to gush about her fiancée and the rare qualities she admires about her man!

“I met a 46-year-old man who has never married and does not have children, a  rarity,” Canalis said of Perri. She went on to gush about her wedding ring declaring it “is the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. Brian designed it, he put his heart and soul into it.”

Clooney and Canalis ended their 18-months relationship back in 2011.
