Erin Andrews Scores $55 Million Win in Peephole Lawsuit

Erin Andrews won big in her lawsuit against the Nashville Marriott. The hotel must pay the Fox Sports reporter $27 million, with just over $28 million due her from Michael Barrett, the man who allegedly filmed her through a reversed peephole at the hotel back in 2008.

While Erin Andrews might never see any money from Barrett, she will be able to cash in from the hotel.

Michael Barrett pled guilty to interstate stalking and served two years in prison.

Erin Andrews asked for $75 million from the Nashville Marriott, but the jury ultimately decided how much she was to be awarded. They deliberated for six hours before announcing their decision.

The lawsuit filed by Erin Andrews maintained the Nashville Marriott was at fault for letting Michael Barrett know her room number, and for booking him into the room next to hers.

What if Barrett had been a murderer instead of a pervert? Erin Andrews would likely be dead.

Following the jury’s decision, Erin Andrews issued a statement thanking the Nashville court personnel and jury for their service. She also said, “I’ve been honored by all the support from victims around the world. Their outreach has helped me be able to stand up and hold accountable those whose job it is to protect everyone’s safety, security and privacy.”

What’s your take on Erin Andrews being awarded $55 million in her lawsuit? Do you think she should have been awarded more money from the hotel in light of the fact that Michael Barrett might not pay her anything?
