Dana Perino, Former White House Press Secretary, To Pen Book

Dana Perino, who served as White House Press Secretary for President George W. Bush, has just landed a book deal and will see it published next year.

Perino, who is now a host on the Fox News talk show The Five, says the book is a combination “candid self-portrait” and self-help book called And The Good News Is

Perino made headlines last year when she gave an interview regarding her feelings towards her predecessor, Scott McClellan, after he wrote a tell-all book that threw the Bush administration into a bad light. Perino, who was good friends with McClellan, said she felt betrayed by the book and his claims in it.

“I was devastated about this book,” Perino said.

She said Bush told her to let it go, because the book would soon be forgotten.

“No buts,” Perino quoted Bush. “I don’t want you to live bitterly. I want you to let it go. This book is not going to be remembered in about three weeks.”

And The Good News Is… is due out next May.
