Caroline Wozniacki took to Twitter this week to thank her fans for an outpouring of support following her sudden breakup from Rory Mcllroy, but she also didn’t miss an opportunity to throw a burn in there, as well.
Mcllroy released a statement confirming that he had ended things with the tennis champ, saying that it’s not her, it’s him.
“There is no right way to end a relationship that has been so important to two people. The problem is mine. The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasn’t ready for all that marriage entails. I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we’ve had. I will not be saying anything more about our relationship in any setting,” he said.
Wozniacki, who has famously been at odds with Mcllroy over his favorite soccer team–Manchester United–threw a dig in at him via Twitter on Thursday.
It's a hard time for me right now. Thanks for all the sweet messages!Happy I support Liverpool right now because I know I'll never walk alone

Mcllroy said earlier this week that he won’t discuss his relationship in a public way anymore, but rather wants to concentrate on his golf career and hopes the media will do the same.
“Obviously (it’s) quite a difficult time for Caroline and myself, and I think the statement really said it all this morning. It was mutual and amicable and we both thought it was the best for us, the best for both of us. Time to move on and I think I’ve said all that I need to say,” he said at a press conference.
