It looks like MTV has cast its blonde scream queen.

Bella Thorne, who you might know from the TV series My Own Worst Enemy, the Disney Channel show Shake It Up, or HBO’s Big Love, has been cast as Casey – the part made famous by Drew Barrymore – in MTV’s reboot of the 1996 comedy-horror classic Scream.

She confirmed the news in a Facebook Q&A.

MTV isn’t remaking the film as another film – instead opting to make a series out of it. The 10-episode series will premiere in October of 2015.

Joining Thorne for the adaptation Willa Fitzgerald (Alpha House, Royal Pains), Amy Forsyth ( Reign), John Karna (The Neighbors), Carlson Young (Key and Peele) and Amadeus Serafini.
